Overall, the food was really good that I wish I can go back again. We had the Jordanian Original Mansaf and the Mashawi mix plate. The yogurt that came with the Jordanian Original Mansaf was tart as expected.

Order dinner tonight, and everything was perfect. Beef gyro plate (saffron rice, veggies, gyro, pita, hummus, Mediterranean salad), falafel with tahini, and tiramisu. The falafel are light and crispy, with delightfully fresh tahini and tzatziki. The beef gyro is so flavorful, and the rice, veggies, and salad were a perfect compliment. Only regret is that we should have ordered more than one cake

If you're in the Overland Park area and craving Mediterranean, don't make the trek all the way out to Jerusalem Cafe or Baba's! Queen of Mediterranean does a solid job and they're my go-to for shawarma on a weekday night. My favorite dishes to order are the Beef Shawarma Plate (comes with hummus, vegetables, and spiced rice) and the Baba Ganoush. The shawarma is fully-flavored and tender and the portions are good. If you're unfamiliar with Baba Ganoush, it's similar to hummus but made with roasted garlic and eggplant rather than chickpeas. The end result is smoky, garlickly, slightly tangy spread that goes perfectly with their flatbread. I've also enjoyed the stuffed grape leaves, the chicken shawarma, the falafel, and the gyro--those are solid picks as well. Dishes I prefer to avoid here are the lamb options, the hummus, and the baklava. Even though I love lamb, I find that it tends to be on the tough side here and would much rather drive out north if I want that. The hummus is more acidic than I'm used to. While it's okay when paired with the shawarma, I wouldn't order it on its own. As for the baklava--proper baklava has a signficiant number of layers, with spiced nuts and honey spread between the layers. As a result, it's very labor-intensive to make can proper baklava can cost a pretty penny. The baklava here has the layered pastry on one side and the nut spread on the bottom, which is much easier to make but doesn't capture all the flavors and textures baklava should have. For the price, I wouldn't order it here. Overall, a great choice for a weeknight! The service can be hit or miss, so it's not dependable for groups, but even when I came with a group of ~20 the service time wasn't unreasonable. Atmosphere is fairly casual, so not a great choice for special occasions.

Chicken Gyro w/Fries & Greek salad

I ordered a Chicken Gyro Wrap w/Fries ($12) & a Greek Salad ($9) via DoorDash for Delivery. The salad was already mixed w/dressing, so it was soggy by the time it got to me, the feta was in very large chunks (see photo) and the lettuce was not great. I wish they had put the dressing on the side as is customary with to-go orders, so I assume it's pre-mixed. Overall, the salad was not enjoyable. The entree was soggy, but that was on the delivery/DoorDash, as it has obviously been warm when put into the container and then I recvd it 20-30min later (so = condensation). There was more Mint in their sauce than I've ever had, so it was more sweet and... Mint-forward, so not to my personal liking. NOTE: 1/3 of this isn't on the restaurant! I would stop by for lunch, but try something else, without their tzatziki sauce.

We have ordered twice from this small business and have thoroughly enjoyed the food and welcoming service provided, both our takeout order and dine-in. The entrees was flavorful, with the perfect balance of sauces, fresh veggies, tender meat, light and crispy fries. The basbousa dessert had a uniquely pleasant flavor, but was too sweet for our liking. The second order we placed (dine-in), our fries were not as crispy. However, the rest of our food and service was just as good as before.

Food is good. Family own restaurant. The desert are good too. Lamp Shanks plate is awesome. Nice indoor to sit down with couples of close friends. We ordered family platters, normally come with salad, pita bread and two types of hummus for pita. I wish the restaurant give us the choice of soup or salad for the side. I also wish that the family platter comes with lamb shanks as well. Since it is not I need to order separately. It was great and consistent. Recommended.

This place is fantastic. I wish I found this place sooner. Food is amazing and the service was wonderful.

YAAAAASSSS QUEEN!! This is the best Mediterranean place I've tried! Menu selection was great- entrees and sandwiches, great starters. They bake their own desserts- can you say baklava?!?! We had the grape leaves & baba to start. Emily served it to us with warm pita. On a cold night the hot mint tea hit the spot. We shared the chicken schwarma plate to split- it looked amazing. Sadly it had some nuts sprinkled on it which the menu didn't mention & my husband has a nut allergy. Emily felt badly & had the kitchen make him a whole separate platter without nuts at no charge. Great experience & we will be back with the family!

Great place. Quick food that is truly home-made. Chicken Schwarma was the best. I highly recommend.

The salad, pita and hummus, came with the plate and everything was delicious. I tried the Kefta kabob plate with mixed meats. The meats were seasoned and cooked well and the tzatziki and spicy sauce were great compliments to the dish which was served over tasty rice. Our server checked on us frequently, filling our water each time. I also liked that it wasn't allowed environment, just some low conversation and some pleasant background music.

Basha Bash: I really wanted to love this spot. Based on the…read morestellar reviews, I was excited for a hidden Greek gem in the heart of OP, but unfortunately, our experience was far from an "Opa!" moment. The Service I arrived first and the place was nearly empty, yet the energy felt frantic. The server/ hostess was very rushed and business-like but seemed overwhelmed, running around like a chicken with her head cut off. After declining a black tea multiple times (once they realized they were out of chai), We had to practically stop her in mid-step for every follow-up once the rest of my party arrived. She never stopped on her own to ask us if we needed anything or if we were enjoying our meal. The Food The meal was a series of "weird" choices: The Hummus Situation: Our entrees were supposed to come with hummus, Rice and a side salad. Instead of serving The hummus with the entree, it was plopped onto the side salad plate before the entree arrived. I've eaten a lot of Mediterranean food, and I've never seen it served that way. The Garlic Sauce: This was a huge letdown. It looked and tasted like straight mayonnaise with a hint of garlic powder--not the authentic, pungent toum or A fresh bright white garlic sauce you'd expect. The tzatziki sauce might have been the best thing on the plate as it tasted fresh and authentic. The Meat: This was a Jekyll and Hyde as some of the meat was tender but some was overcooked and it was like that for everybody's meal whether they got beef, lamb or chicken. The Rice: Every entree was served over saffron rice that was dry, almost like it had been sitting out sunbathing for the day. The Falafel: Good crunch, but the inside was on the dry side. The Vibe As someone with a background in the industry, one thing really stood out: while our server was struggling to keep up with the only two tables in the restaurant, a cook with an apron was sitting in the lobby looking bored and disinterested. It's never a good look for staff to be lounging in front of customers regardless of how busy the restaurant is. Final Verdict Maybe it was just an off night, but for the price point, it doesn't compete. When you compare the quality and value to places like Meddys, Darna, or Mr. Gyros, this was extremely subpar. Sadly, I won't be rushing back.
