I came in here for kataifi to make my own homemade Dubai Chocolate. I was actually headed to the Post Office when I passed this Middle Eastern store and decided to go find the special ingredient that makes the viral Dubai Chocolate everyone and their mother has been talking about all year! The staff helped me find what I needed. They had the dry kataifi, roasted kataifi and frozen kataifi. I told them I wanted it for the Dubai Chocolate and said I could use any of them but the roasted kataifi was probably best option to keep it simple. It cost $8.49. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The market itself reminds me of small Asian markets.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I was in a hurry but I want to come back and really look around. They also sell pistachio spread here too but I already bought that so didn't need it. After I paid and, on my way out, I immediately noticed the viral Propitious Ice Cream in the refrigerated section. OH. EM. GEEEEEEE!!! Been looking for this everywhere. They had so many different flavors options including mango, peach, refreshing lemon, summer lemon and the blue one is a milk flavored ice cream filled with yellow peach jam. I was so excited to find this close by but also couldn't buy any since I was running around. I will be back for these!!! I am always looking for new flavors, desserts, and delicacies, and so when I saw Medina Middle Eastern Market, I just had to go in. I was also looking for a couple of specific things that I haven't been able to find since Caspian Grill closed. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The store was pretty much what I expected. A few aisles of shelves stacked to the top with a variety of items.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Let's face it. Middle East is a large area with many countries, each with its own unique spices and dishes, and so it is a huge undertaking to try and satisfy everyone, but for the most part, they succeeded. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Given the people who were shopping there at the time, I would say that the authenticity of the store was greatly appreciated.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I ended up not finding the Persian items I was looking for, but that's ok, instead I got a Turkish item. They also serve food at the store, which is nice because after walking along the aisles of food items, you start craving a Middle Eastern treat. I saw a vertically roasted meat and I knew what I wanted, but i didn't see a menu and when I was asked what I wanted, I wasn't sure if they were serving Gyro, Doner, or Shawarma, and not wanting to offend anyone, I asked for a meat wrap. I've been looking for a good middle eastern (Lebanese, more specifically) restaurant nearby and finally I have one!! They have an an extensive menu of made fresh to order items, as well as packaged products and frozen foods available. I ordered the chicken shawarma sandwich, grape leaf rolls, chocolate baklava, and another dessert to try. EVERYTHING was incredibly yummy!! As a Lebanese, I can tell you Medina's food is really authentic. I Simply love, love their spinach pies! And their meat pies. The shawarma sandwiches are fantastic. Stop by the butcher section and get Pre-made Kafta or chicken kebabs to go and throw them on the grill at home with a side of rice and salad or tzatziki sauce. Excellent. While it is essentially a grocery store, they have a deli/take out area. I got the Chicken schwarma platter, where they kindly let me change the rice for fries! The chicken was perfectly seasoned and cooked, and the fries had the perfect level of crunch. Plenty more to the store to get my fix on middle eastern chicken essentials, teas,and snacks! read more

Friendly staff, decent Middle Eastern food and a convenient location. Months ago I though this place had gone out of business, not realizing they were n the process of opening. Happy to find a nearby location to purchase pita bread, fava beans and other Mediterranean staples. Prices are a little higher than I'm accustomed to, but I appreciate the convenience of not having to travel to East Hollywood for my usual haul. There's outdoor seating to accommodate for dining, a section with fresh baked desserts (baklava, basbousa, etc), and a small refrigerated fruit/vegetable stand. Nice little spot. On the corner in the Pembroke Pines Walmart plaza. Tables outside, indoor market & hot food counter & bakery . I was t quite sure where to order or pay at first since the register is different from the order counter but after a few min a helpful employee came to my rescue. I asked a few questions about the food & bakery and decided on a few things to go so I could have goodies at work latter. I got the hummus w/ beef shawarma, a cheese & bread dessert that comes with a sweet syrup, & a tin of sesame cookies . At first I was sad that the hummus w-meat came with no pita, & seemed to come in such a small container ( about 5 in) -but it is deeper than it seems and Really Tasty . Very fresh & light . I can't wait to try the sweets ! The man told me to microwave or warm the cheese then put it inside the bread & add the syrup. It looks very yummy. It's worth a visit , as they have quite a large selection of foods, snacks, Turkish coffee & teas & things for hookah-if you're so inclined. It is a mango flavored frozen mousse or ice cream on a wooden stick and covered in a thin layer of white chocolate. No actual mango is involved in the making of one. They also have other flavors like peach and lemon and one with jelly in the middle. I believe they usually sell for around $6 but they get $8 for one here. Having finally tried one I was not impressed and my curiosity has been fully satisfied. I also picked up one of viral Dubai chocolate bars. It is made with milk chocolate, pistachio butter, and crispy toasted kataifi pastry. It did not have a price on it and I should have asked. It was $14 for a small bar! I really wanted the more affordable Trader Joe version but they sold out in one hour and they haven't come back in. I haven't tried the one I bought here yet but fingers crossed that it is worth $14. One not great ice cream and a small chocolate bar ended up costing $22. As I was trying to check out I had the added entertainment of watching the cashier attempt to be rude to a customer and she was not having it and dishing it right back. The pita looked good and they may have the TikTok treats but this is a one and done for me.
