A great popular spot for brunch! I've been to the Sewickley location before and was impressed this location was much bigger and had more seating and a full bar. I ordered the Milk Bread French Toast and it was delicious! The dish came with 2 thick pieces of toast that were soaked in milk and butter and toasted to be slightly crispy on the outside. On top were fresh apple chunks with cinnamon and a few cranberries, along with homemade whipped cream and warm maple syrup. All the flavors blended nicely and balanced so each bite wasn't too sweet. I was full after my meal too. The staff was great and efficient too, especially with how busy they were on a Sunday morning. Our dishes came out to our table within 10mins and someone came to clean up our dishes when we finished almost immediately, but they didn't pressure us to leave. We had a delicious surprise in store for us when we put "Mediterranean food near us" in Google and got Mediterra instead! Such a lovely experience! The cafe is darling ~ very friendly and laidback, neighborhood vibe. The food and coffee were tasty. My mate and I ordered a Farm salad ~ so fresh! My mate had the Cubano sandwich, which was delightful and again ~ so fresh! I had avocado toast with an egg added, and was thoroughly pleased. The bread here is just FANTASTIC!! The service is a combo of counter ordering and delivery to table ~ the gentleman who took our order was enthusiastic and friendly (we went back to the counter 3 times!). Have been dying to try this place & heard only good things. Honestly was tough trying to pick which sandwich because they all sound so yummy and flavorful. Ended up with a Roasted Beet Salad, Grilled Tuna Melt Sandwich and a matcha latte. Was not super impressed by the beet salad, it lacked flavor though the beets and goat cheese were good. The matcha latte was tasty, but the star stand out was definitely the tuna melt. The flavors were amazing, the bread was soft but crunchy and the side of pickles were delicious!! I've been seeing/hearing so much about this place and stopped in for dinner and drinks with friends. We split a charcuterie board, which was awesome and had a lot of variety. I also got the burrata salad, something I'd never tried before -- it was delicious as well. The market and baked goods is a neat thing, too -- I got a homemade zebra cake (highly recommend) and got some jam and locally made keto friendly bread. What an absolute treat. The space is comfortable even on a busy Sunday during brunch. There's a covered & heated area outside that is quite warm, and outdoor seating that is not covered or heated. Several tables inside that are mostly suitable for 2-4 people. The shop & bakery section is stocked with interesting snacks and everything you need if you're into charcuterie & cheese boards. The staff is friendly and efficient. Food is always perfect, and they have an excellent cocktail & coffee menu. Every time I come here, I lose track of time because it's such a fun, delicious, exciting experience. I cannot give enough praise to fully credit the great work that these people do. read more

My husband and I took your son here for a Mother's Day lunch. It was our first time so we were not entirely sure what to expect. We were pleasantly surprised! You purchase your food at the register and find a seat, indoor and outdoor seating available. The food was amazing. My son had the macaroni and cheese, I had the Shakshuka, and my husband had the grilled Parma Cotta sandwich. All were delicious. We also both had a craft cocktail that was amazing! A new branch of Mediterra Cafe originally started in Sewickley. They have pretty much the same menu as that at their Sewickley site. However, their selections are slightly different. The number of different pastries on display appear significantly fewer. They have a few croissants, cookies, and macarons. At the Sewickely branch I felt inundated with so many different options to choose from (which is nice to see what is available but makes choosing so difficult!). Here, I felt that they really showcased a few items that looked absolutely delicious (their prosciutto sandwiches, their flatbread options, their intricately designed specialty cakes). It also made the overall experience less stressful. One thing I really appreciated was the well-organized cheese section. Everything is laid out neatly together and in open visual, so no need to go digging around. I did not dine in, but the interior looks very homey and so much more spacious than at their Sewickley branch. I imagine the noise level can get pretty horrendous when they will be able to hold at full capacity. Until then, you can be sure to enjoy a very pleasant dine in experience. Always a wonderful breakfast at Mediterra! My biggest tip would be to go early in the morning or outside of busy meal times and snag a table outside. Treat yourself and get something from the extensive pastry display as well as a dish from the breakfast or lunch menu - everything is delicious. My personal favorite pastries are the almond croissants (HUGE and full of almond filling), danishes with fresh fruit, and the pecan sticky rolls. Everything on the breakfast menu is amazing - the toasts in particular are wonderful and far exceed the typical presentations of breakfast toast. This time I tried the seasonal fresh cheese toast, which included lemon ricotta spread topped with a pistachio and garlic scape pesto and fig preserves. It was outstanding! The avocado toast is fresh and bright and absolutely delicious - the fresh dill and herbs make a world of difference. My husband tried the breakfast sammie at our recent visit and loved it! The house-made English muffin was fluffy and perfect for a hearty sandwich. They have great strong coffee, and I opted for an iced americano with oat milk. My husband's mocha was rich and not too sweet - much more complex than a run of the mill mocha. We love this Mediterra location and will sometimes come just to pick up interesting pantry items or cheese, along with a requisite loaf of their fresh and amazing bread. I was so excited to see a new cafe open up that we went to try it without reading any reviews and we were not disappointed. We didn't see anyone not masked as the other reviews stated, all the servers and staff and the people standing and waiting in line had masks on. Tables were being sanitized after use and were spaced far apart. They have a nice open space inside as well as a few tables outside Their coffee was really good and I loved that the cappuccino was also nice and strong. We tried a variety of baked goods, but their bread and breakfast sandwich were just excellent. We will definitely be going again to try other things on the menu. My husband and I went to visit my stepson and his family. They suggested this place for a late lunch. I ordered from the kids menu, meatballs, the were good. My husband wasn't very happy with his roast beef sandwich, he complained that there was a lot of fat in the meat. Nice looking place, workers were just ok, not overly friendly, which is fine. My complaint was the fact that I had to pay a liquor tax when none of us ordered a drink of any kind! Would like an explanation for that one. read more

I am in love with everything from Mediterra. I often go for brunch and of course walk away with loaves of bread and pastries to bring home. Their Quiche, Speciality Pizza, and homemade pastries are fabulous. They often have daily specialities that you get to discover by going in, but their takeout is also always very reliable. The line may look long at first glance, but it moves very quickly and they are very efficient. If you are able to grab a seat at the bar, their cocktails are to die for. We ordered our dishes and coffees at the counter from a very helpful and friendly employee-me an iced pumpkin latte and Shakshuka and her an espresso with daily quiche. We enjoyed everything on a hot October morning! Service was excellent and prompt considering how busy they were. We ate outside and thoroughly enjoyed our meals. Iced Pumpkin latte more savory than sweet which made my heart sing- sugary drinks aren't my jam. Truly tasted like fresh pumpkin and coffee with hint of allspice! The Shakshuka was to DIE FOR! Cooked to perfection- poached eggs nestled happily in tomatoes- served hot with large slices of freshly toasted French bread (made in house of course). My friend raved about her quiche and finished every last bite. Portions were perfect and good for the price IMO too. Thankful they've maintained the modern and cozy decor/atmosphere indoors (from previous restaurant renovation) and opened a larger outdoor space -heated in cooler months! I've seen this space as Block 292 and Fairlane and I'm glad to see that it wasn't empty for long. Sadly, I can't speak for any of the food or cafe offerings. I came here on what I believe was their first day open and left without ordering anything after waiting in line. Why? Management/ownership kept pulling their masks down to talk to customers in the cafe line - one of whom had their mask under their chin and the other didn't even have a mask at all. The latter kept leaning between the plexiglass shields at the register to place her order which made me feel horrible for the cashier. One gentleman, who Google tells me is the owner, had a very small, clear face shield that only covered his mouth and nose and yet he still kept pulling it down to talk to the aforementioned customers. I understand that people that opt to dine indoors don't have to wear masks while seated/eating, but don't be so rude as to disregard those of us that choose to grab and go and wear a mask the entire time. Especially when you're running a business with signs on the door stating that masks are required. I'd like to give this place another shot but it might be a while til I do so. Based on the other review here, it seems like my experience wasn't unique. read more

Mediterra moved into the old chic space on a Beverly in Mt Lebo, previously occupied by Fairlane. In what is supposed to be a bakery, cafe, and market, the space lends itself out perfectly with the previous market area to the right and a more formal dining area to the left. Unfortunately, not much more was seen as a plus in an opening weekend. The area was hardly fully furnished, with the bar having a lone bottle on the shelf, and the staff completely disorganized. Orders were taking substantially longer than they should have (25 minutes for toast) which could be excusable for a new staff opening a new location. Generally it would be worth another chance, but management just did not seem to care about customers safety or wellbeing at all. Staff did not require customers to wear masks (people were just wandering along without them) and staff themselves either wore below the nose, at the chin or would what I most commonly saw, was move down off their mouth every time they spoke to each other or sometimes to customers. What was just the most inconsiderate in my opinion was the fact that either the manager or owner was wearing this ridiculous chin strap which had a small, maybe two inch visor extending from her chin maybe to her upper lip if the mouth was closed. Clearly the tone at the top was poor, given we are in the middle of a world wide pandemic and just hours into a new location, no effort is being made to keep customers or staff safe. Everything took too slow to prepare and the opening seemed far too rushed. Either extra time is needed to train and implement a routine, or I would recommend staying away until they can sort out operations. read more

We are on a staycation and decided to venture out each day to discover a new (to us) breakfast joint and Mediterranean Cafe was first on our list and it did not disappoint. We had chose the breakfast sammie, quiche of the day, and milk bread French toast and now I think we may have to purchase larger pants because leaving anything on the plates was not an option. If you are with someone e who goes inside to order make sure you also peak your head in because the array of specialty food items reminds me of a smaller scale McGinnis Sisters.
