Mediterranean Breeze is such an enjoyable restaurant. The food and service are great. A highlight is the homemade house salad dressing; I don't know what it is, but it is the best salad dressing I've ever had. The Bruschetta appetizer is excellent! Full of flavor and is always something we order. The Calamari is also very good and the portion is more than enough for two. The Chicken Souvlaki Platter is one of my favorite entrees. The Crab Cake Sandwich is also pretty good, as well as the Spaghetti Con Pomodoro Freschi with two meatballs and the Baked Spaghetti. My fiance loves the Fresh Mussels, which is actually an appetizer, but is more than worthy of being an entree -- just add some spaghetti noodles and it's a perfect meal. The only dish that I've had that was so-so was the Garden Pasta (fresh garden vegetables, olive oil and garlic over fettuccini pasta). It didn't have much flavor and I wouldn't get it again. A great place. The cook/owner stands behind all his food. I believe he said "If you dont like your food, I'll buy it for you" once to me. Regardless I've never sent anything back. I really like the greek salads, sometimes I'll put some form of meat on it. The homemade house dressing is so good I occasionally buy extra to take home. I really enjoy this place as there are VERY few places in Loudoun County that arn't the standard chain fried food places. Brunch Buffet Review I had negative experience at their Sunday brunch. Arrived at noon for a brunch that is scheduled to end at 2. They hardly refreshed the food and by 1:30 the buffet was taken away. While I was there, they only added some bacon to the chafing dishes. Otherwise, hours-old sweaty and cold egg casseroles sat sadly in their bins, getting passed over by dozens of diners without even so much as a stir from the staff. 1 half of a hardened biscuit served its sentence next to the half an inch of gravy that was mostly gelatinous surface skin. And the service was terrible. No one came to take our plates. I had to find my own ketchup and fork. I don't think anyone was assigned to our table - it was just catch as catch can to make eye contact with an employee. I suggest the restaurant commit to the brunch, or commit to Mediterranean food. Asking the kitchen to do both left no one happy. People came in, saw the depressing buffet and ordered gyros. As a result, the unpopular spread was left fallow. I think if they focused on a successful buffet, it would be... successful. Won't go back. read more

Been here years before visiting family and really enjoyed the food. Disappointed tonight. We were a large group of 11 so this may have been part of the problem But half of our food came out lukewarm. I am not sure what has happened to this place lately. We used to eat here frequently, but over the past 6-8 months or so, the food quality has been declining. We love greek food and really do want to support our area restaurants, but just cannot any longer. Our favorite item to order was the Greek Pizza. It is like a Gyro on a pizza and used to be delish! Over the past 6 months, we noticed they started skimping on the meat...it is not a Greek Pizza without the meat. Yesterday, I really had a taste for this pizza so I thought I would give it another try. I ordered extra meat to make sure I would not be disappointed. There was meat on it all right, but it was dried out, tough as shoe leather. The crust of my supposed fresh pizza was dried out, and tasted like day old pizza crust. I told management about my disappointment with previous pizzas, and they sold this one to me anyway. :( I am sad to write this review as I do not want to see an Ashburn restaurant fail. We went there for bruch and although the service and atmosphere was nice, the food was pretty average. Food took longer than expected, and I was starving that morning. I love the decor and in the summer time, you can sit outside and watch the runners on the W&OD trail nearby. My husband ordered eggs benedict and I ordered the ham and cheese omelet. His dish came out drenched in hollandaise sauce - which he said was good with the first couple of bites, but then became too much and he pretty much had to scrape it off. My omelet was average. My husband and I actually go there so much that they know us by face and they know what we like to drink. The wait staff are such a fantastic bunch of people, we've never had a bad experience with them - ever. We normally stick to the gyros, salads, pizza, souvlaki, spanakopita (sp), dolmades, hummus, tzatziki sauce (sp - I know I butchered that), pita bread, garlic bread - oh and the baklava (seriously, my God). I also have never ordered an entre there - I've just stuck to the Greek fare. I also love the Greek Grand Reserve (I want to say it's Boutari) wine they serve there - it just tops off the food spendidly. The outdoor patio is great, but indoors is nice too - just a warning, my husband and I don't have kids - and there are quite a few families that come here - we just ask to be seated in a different area, no harm done. Went to this place for dinner with a colleague. The place is located in a strip-mall within a residential area. The decor was charming and the ambient was homely (looks like it's run by a family). They have a salad bar which was decent. The appetizer platter we ordered was good, but the hummus seemed a little too tahini-heavy. The falafel platter was my main course. The portion was pretty big and food tasted decent. The wine was excellent. They have a tasting of the options available and the one I selected at the end was really smooth. In all, a good Meditteranean option. I won't call myself a fan, but wouldn't mind coming back again for a bite. Service was friendly. Would rate it a 3.5 - 3.7 stars if I could. read more

In my experience, Greek food feels like it was made with love. I felt no such thing here. I could taste absolutely no seasoning on anything. The salad bar was full of nothing but wilted, old produce. The menu was full of items crossed out with marker. The person who appeared to be the manager/owner seemed too busy taking shots and conversing with one table rather than running her restaurant. So this place is a go-to good breakfast/brunch/lunch place for us. We've been for dinner a couple of times and enjoyed it. Everything I have tried has been at least good, some things, fantastic. In particular, we like to stop there for breakfast on weekend rides along the W&OD. It's very nice in the warmer months when you can eat out on their patio if you're all sweaty from the ride too. It's tough to find really good breakfast joints but this place puts out reliably great stuff and we also take our toddler there. Their kids breakfast is only 99 cents, to be fair, it's only enough food for a small kid but still, if she's really hungry I can order 2 and it's still cheaper than anywhere else. Great eggs benedict, in fact there's a whole section on the menu of variations of it. Some days the Hollandaise is a bit tastier than others, but it's fresh. Really good breakfast sausage and one of the only places around that offers fresh squeezed OJ. During the cooler months of the year (fall and spring) the owners do a special whole spit-roasted lamb outside on the patio on some weekends. If you like lamb, this stuff is fantastic. Not cheap, but enough to feed two people and so, so, so yummy. Also good is the chicken kabob, big chunks of chicken served with green beans and rice. Sounds odd but it is really good. Don't live close enough to use the delivery so I can't comment on it. Bottom line pros: Great patio area, good waitstaff, locally owned, great, cheap breakfasts, love the hummus, good kids menu. cons: some dishes are less-than-authentic (this does not necessarily equal bad), salad bar is basic (occasionally lettuce is a bit "mature") read more

We made our first visit yesterday. The service was very friendly, even though there were only 3 ahead of us, the wait for food was extremely long. I can't imagine how long the wait would be when they are busy! We ordered the gyro platter and they were great. They pile so much meat on the sandwich that it was impossible to finish. We took our leftovers home and had another enjoyable meal! The only reason I didn't give 5 stars was how long we had to wait for the food. Also my wife asked for a little mayo and I was surprised that they charged .95 cents extra. when I inquired the waiter said they charge for the mayo but if you order a hamburger the mayo is free! A couple of years ago, I wasn't a fan of Mediterranean Breeze - recently, I tagged along with my parents and gave it another try. I was impressed! If you haven't visited the restaurant in a while its worth another stab! Since my hiatus, they've added a Greek salad bar, which is delicious & totally on point (make sure you try the fresh hummus). I had the waitress bring out a piece of grilled chicken I could put on my salad and it was cooked perfectly; juicy & flavorful! Service was probably a 3 out of 5, mainly because I think our waitress was just slightly inexperienced (young) - but she was very friendly none-the-less. One of the better Gyro's I've had in a while...first and only experience, but a good one. Went at lunch with my wife, we both had gyros (I had the OPA ones, she had the Chicago). Both were tasty, well prepared, and a good value for the $. The place appeared clean, and the service was timely and courteous. We'll be back at some point to try dinner. read more
