Ordered on DoorDash, was about a 20 minute drive and everything was still piping hot when it arrived. The lentil soup was silky smooth (blended, not with whole lentils and broth) and I was licking every last drop off the spoon and the bowl. Got the chicken kebab plate and the chicken was perfectly grilled, though the rice was pretty bland (but still totally fine). The shocker for me was the tzatziki. I HATE HATE CAPITAL H HATE cucumbers but this tzatziki is more lemon and garlic forward with just a hint of cucumber for freshness, it was freaking fantastic and I put it on literally everything I ate. The hot sauce is more like a salsa than a regular hot sauce but it had flavor AND spice which is hard to come by. The only bummer for me was the pita bread. It was pretty chewy and not my favorite texture but I was really just using it as a vehicle to get soup and tzatziki and soup into my mouth so I didn't pay it much attention. We had shish kebob and lentil soup. I think Mediterranean Grill makes the tastiest meat in Atlanta. However, I cannot say the same thing about the lentil soup. It was way too thick for a soup and had a sour taste that I didn't recognize. Their salads used to be more tasty but today they didn't put as much dressing as they used to. The restaurant offers parking but you can't leave your car there and go to park. I paid around 18$ for this combo. I would say it was a bit too pricey but quality of meat kind of makes up for it. read more

Mediterranean grill Food Workday lunch Three courses work day meal. First course, we have a side of Greek salad. The lettuce are fresh as always, even better than a lot of packages lettuce you get from groscery store. The salad comes with a generous amount of feta cheese. Only mishap is that the olive are soaked in water instead of in oils before serving. But this only make shuttle differences. Second course, yellow rice with three types of meat: gyro, Shish kabab, cuts of grilled steaks() their seasoning makes it one of the two flavors that's closest to my culinary memory of Jordan. As a health enthusiast the grease of the yellow rice is visible but I choose to embrace it because that rice soaked in meat sause is an indispensable part of the vibe. Third course: pita dipped in tzaziki or hot sause. The thickness and the texture is exactly the same as those back in Jordan. Their tzaziki has a texture that's closer to creamcheese's. Pure enjoyment. One headsup about the sauce though is that they diced the cucumber here whereas the cucumber are usually stringed in tzaziki sause back in Jo. Anecdote Had some good conversation with the Moroccan employees on my first visit, so when I feel like some comfort I decided to drop by Mediterranean grill again. Small miss. Ps: I walked in but obviously they are not yet open for dine-in. But the food was still hot after a twenty-minute-walk back home. MG is my chill goto spot right off of the Atlanta Beltline trail. I like to grab a quick sandwich during a summer bike ride or a nice walk towards Piedmont Park. During my two visits, I've had the falafel sandwich and the vegetarian sandwich which basically seems to be the same thing. What's the difference you ask?? The falafel sandwich is a wrap with falafel (fried chickpea balls) accompanied with lettuce, tomato, and tahini (sesame seed sauce). This is a bit heavy on the stomach yet tasty. Where as the vegetarian sandwich is wrapped with all of the above adding hummus (chickpea paste) and tabouli (parsley, lemon, garlic salad mix). I found the latter to be lighter on the stomach but more juicy in flavor. Although, the pita bread was a bit chewy from the first time I had the falafel sandwich. My little bro had the chicken sandwich which he described as a combination of flavors that blend well together. The chicken was moist and robust with flavor. The pita bread was just right not too soft and not too chewy. Overall, MG has friendly staff, good prices, filling sandwiches, plenty of seating, AC, and clean bathrooms. I actually ordered from MG through UberEats because I was having a lazy day and Mediterranean food sounded like a good idea. I ordered the Dolmas, Homemade Lentil Soup, and the Lamb Shank. The Lamb Shank entreé came with rice, pita bread, and a side Greek salad. The Dolmas were very tasty and were on par with what I expected it to be. The side Greek salad was very fresh and had feta and tomatoes, and a nice dressing on the side. The Lamb Shank was absolutely tender and seasoned well. The rice was also good and had raisins and shreds of almond in it. The real loser here was the Lentil Soup. I was expecting there to be actual whole (or at least pieces of) lentils in it. However it was an orange-colored, pureed mess that lacked flavor except for a slight weirdly acidic after taste. I would not recommend getting that soup. Food was good! We live nearby and have halal dietary needs so this is one of our go-to places for sure! We only do dine-in though because in addition to halal dietary needs we are also very conscious about the environment and we don't want to receive food in styrofoam containers. For that reason more of our Seamless spending is going towards Planet Bombay (also halal) than Med. Grill because their food packaging is more sustainable (paper food containers that can be composted, aluminum foil that can be recycled, #5 plastic lids that can be recycled...) Still, Mediterranean Grill for dine-in is not so terrible for the environment. They have reusable cups you can use (they also have single use styrofoam cups for to-go). They have real silverware instead of plastic silverware. They have aluminum foil and plastic clamshell containers for salads which are both recyclable. The tzatziki sauce comes in a plastic ramekin, recycling them is iffy because they're so small, maybe they could get stainless steel ramekins for dine-in? Wouldn't that save them money in the long run? I used to work at a restaurant that had stainless steel ramekins and they just ran it through the dishwasher and it was fine... Gotta give them props for fighting food waste as well. I noticed the croutons that come with the soup is made from the pitas. Love that. We will definitely keep coming back to Mediterranean Grill for the halal food for dine-in. But until they switch from styrofoam food containers to something more sustainable -maybe paper containers with #5 plastic lids like Planet Bombay? Or aluminum rounds like Halal Guys?- we'll probably end up eating here 1x a month as opposed to 1x a week. read more

I read the reviews before tying out this place so I came in with high expectations. I ordered the vegetable plate to go for $11.00 ($11.88 w/tax). Good: staff was friendly, the food was fresh and made to order. They offer delivery in a three-mile radius. Good portion of hummus and the meal included a side salad. Areas for improvement: there were only two falafel included in my vegetable plate and I thought the falafel was ok. There were only two options for baklava (walnut and pistachio-both nuts) so there was no option for someone with a nut allergy although they did look fresh. This location has been delivering food to my various jobs in Midtown since the lat 90's, so I've been a fan as long as I can remember. This place is no-nonsense, so don't come in expecting a fancy, nose-in-the-air plated entree, either. You don't need it - the food speaks for itself. The place isn't huge, but it is usually pretty packed. Right off the beltline and conveniently across from Piedmont Park, it gets tons of foot traffic. We came in late, from the rain, on New Years Day night the glorious smells wafted through the joint. The line was a few people deep, so we waited our turn. I decided to get the combo feast this time since I couldn't decided on what I wanted to eat - always a good choice. The kefta and beef kebabs are my favorites. The gyro meat is good, but not one of my favorite choices, and apparently now this combo favors the gyro meat. It was still delicious, but I longed for more kefta and beef. The rice was a little lacking in seasoning this time, but usually that's not an issue. But I was well satiated with salad and pita dipped in tzaziki. As usual, I earned my spot in the clean plate club and went about my evening. Always a good choice and always bang for the buck (All that food for under $15 - winning!) The restaurant is located just south of where the Beltline intersects with Monroe, across from Piedmont Park and near the Promenade shopping plaza. I ordered the combination feast, which includes gyro, kafta, shish kebab, salad, rice, pita bread and a small cup of tzatziki sauce. The kafta was seasoned really well and cooked just right. My shish kebab also was seasoned very well. There was plenty of salad, dressed with balsamic vinaigrette, to complement the three meats. I ended up stuffing the pita bread with gyro, lettuce from the salad, and the tzatziki sauce. I thought the tzatziki sauce had good texture and went well with all three of the meats. With respect to portions, you definitely get good value for your money. Critiques: I'd rate the gyro as average. Great with tzatziki sauce, just ordinary when eaten plain. While the shish kebab had bold flavor, it could have been more tender. Sides were just okay, but rice and salad shouldn't be the focus of the meal. Overall: Good deal for Mediterranean food near Piedmont Park. It's competitive and comparable to other Mediterranean takeout restaurants. And being pretty hungry, I ordered both an appetizer and entrée. *Calamari (breaded squid with tomato sauce): Whatever they use to bread the squid has some sort of Cajun-like spice (I think), and it isn't overly thick. The squids are small (perfect for fun bites) and the tomato sauce complimented the noms well. I took about three-fourths of it home and ate it for the next two days as a snack. **Gyro Plate (seasoned beef and lamb with rice, pitas, tzaski sauce, and salad): This gyro plate is ridiculously humongous, and I referred to this entrée in the intro above. However, I managed to eat it all, and I didn't eat until the afternoon the next day. Everything is pretty good, especially the meat. II. SERVICE Super cool peeps working behind the counter. On a regular lone-lunch day, I wouldn't normally wander in to a place like this, for fear of my ignorance of cultural foods showing. (Hey, I'm workin' on it!) However, Yelp suggested Mediterranean Grill when I searched the area for something close that's just one $. Yea, I was totally being cheap. I was also interested because with my bad cholesterol, my doctor told me if I was going to go with one culture's diet solely, to choose Mediterranean because of the ingredients they use and the way they cook. Take that with a grain of salt though because she's my doctor, not yours! (If you were going to ask, no, I have not written a review on her yet..) It was about 2pm, not super busy. There were three guys behind the counter. Quiet but polite. I ordered a small Tabouleh Salad appetizer ($4) and a side of gyro meat ($3.50) that came with tzatziki sauce. Not bad for less than $8 total! Everything tasted very fresh. I couldn't finish the Tabouleh, but I ate all the tomatoes out of it with my gyro meat. I was happy to learn that I could almost not finish the meat either. ALMOST. Ssshhheeei, I wasn't going to waste that. By the time I ate the last piece of meat, I did wish I had paired it with the Lentil Soup (advertised homemade) or the hummus with pita... something a little more than the Tabouleh with the meat. Mediterranean Grill is a good spot to get Mediterranean cuisine in Midtown. You get a lot of food and each dish is under $10. There are three Mediterranean Grill locations in metro Atlanta (the others are in Decatur and Marietta). This location in Midtown is the only once I've visited so far. The restaurant is located in a strip mall across from the Grady High School football field and next to the Midtown Promenade shopping center. Parking can be tight. The restaurant is small and casual. You stand in line and order at the counter up front. When your order is ready, you pick up your tray on the other side of the counter underneath the sign that says "PICK UP HERE." Drinks are self-serve out of fountains and dispensers. Not only are the standard items a good value, but Mediterranean Grill also offers a "Business Lunch Combo" for $6.90 which includes three different meats on rice, a salad, and a drink. I'm a fan of their hummus and baba ghanoush as well as their gyros plate. While the food is not top of the line in terms of quality, everything is served hot and fresh and in generous portions. The food is both appetizing and filling. If you're around Piedmont Park and looking for a quick and casual fix, Mediterranean Grill is a decent option. read more

At this place where I went to college, the Mediterranean restaurant there would sell you falafel by the piece for forty-nine cents. Mediterranean Grill won't. But being the closest and cheapest place I can get a feta cheese or grape leaf fix, I look past their refusal to sell me an individual falafel. The Midtown location is the second location (the first being near Emory University) and is across the street from Piedmont Park, making this a good place to grab something to go for a picnic at the park or a quick dinner. Heading home to New Jersey only showed me how good us students here at Emory and Georgia Tech (and State) have it. I live next to Rutgers University, and like any other college campus, it is surrounded by a bunch of Mediterranean restaurants too. The difference between those and Med grill is that Med Grill is cheaper, comes with a lot more food, and it has significantly better food. The only thing that Med grill could have done better was to give more food and to make it better. So, after 2 months away from it, I went again. And Lo and Behold, the food was literally spilling off of my plate. OMG there was so much good. And the quality is just as good if not better. The lamb was flavorful and juicy,and ohhh mannn, the kufta kabob, I thought it was perfect when I first had it. Somehow, it is even better now. the combination plate at 9 dollars is a great deal. This is probably one of the few non buffets that I can get reasonably full at below 10 dollars. And the pita was so nice and soft too. Not hard and dense like the pita bread from other "fast food" Mediterranean places. The increase in quality and quantity give it that hard earned 5 star rating. Definitely one of my favorite restaurants in Atlanta. Oh, and they have delivery now. = win read more

Any questions I had about the menu were answered with plenty of information and a smile, which is always a great start to any meal out. The food was prepped to order but came fast, and from the get go it was amazing. The smell alone made my mouth water with anticipation... The potatoes were seasoned just right and were crunchy and hot. I must have eaten 3/4 of the plate before realizing I was supposed to share it with my boyfriend... oops. The pita went very well with the OMG DELICIOUS tzatziki, and the gyro plate was packed with food: lamb, salad, rice, and more pita/tzatziki. I recently took a trip to Israel so all Mediterranean food tastes a little off to me but I'm comparing it to its authentic origin so that's not fair at all haha. I do monthly meet ups with a friend of mine and we chose Mediterranean Grill this month. I noticed it leaving Woodys CheeseSteaks with I recently reviewed. There is a decent amount of parking. It is midtown so there's always street parking available barring that there isn't a large event taking place. The establishment is clean but the employees portray middle eastern/Mediterranean behavior. They kept conversation short and minded their business. It is not something to take offense to. People in that area are often what we would deem as rude in the south of the US. The food was great for what it was. I ordered a falafel plate while my friend order a chicken kabab plate. Be prepared to spend a minimum $9 on a plate. They call out your order and you pick it up whether it is take-out or dine-in. You also get your own soft drinks and silverware. You also throw away your own trash and put your plate and tray up. Since there are so many Mediterranean eateries to try, I doubt that I will return unless I am in the area which I rarely am for an extended period of time. read more

Ive gone here a number of times in a pinch looking for a quick lunch, Medi Grill has always come through on the few times I have visited. I definitely recommend the gyro sandwich, its super cheap. Like 4 bucks I think and its really good, one of the best gyros I have had in Atlanta but thats not saying much since I can count on one hand all the greek places ive been too. Most of the food was just pretty tasteless. The pita bread was horrible. Dry with no flavor. Usually my favorite part of a meal, but in this case, you can get better pita bread at Kroeger. The rice was TASTELESS! I was so disappointed--it literally tasted like plain, unseasoned rice. The salad was good, but the olives were super dry. Now to the highlights: The chicken! I was surprised after tasting the other food that the chicken kabob was actually delicious and seasoned really well. The tzatziki was awesome too. I would go buy a bucket of it if I could. The potatoes--also pretty good. Definitely need some salt but that could be easily fixed. I wish I liked this place more, because judging off the chicken and tzatziki, they have potential. This simple little shopping-strip storefront right across from Piedmont Park sure doesn't seek to break any molds or win any prizes for originality--it has probably the most generic name that the owners could think of--but when we visited, it executed its basic aims very competently and inexpensively. For $6.85 you get a healthy-sized pita sandwich and a refreshing Greek salad, both with quality ingredients. My chicken kabob one had a generous portion of flavorful and nicely cooked marinated chicken. The wife had less complimentary things to say about her felafel, but otherwise enjoyed her meal, too. And after gorging ourselves on mostly artery-clogging sludge for the previous few days of our trip to Atlanta, this felt like a relative infusion of nutrition. For $10 and barely above, Mediterranean Grill also offers gigantic entree plates of Med standards like kofte, felafel, and kabobs, etc. No table service here: You both order and pick up at the counter.
