Fantastic restaurant! Our first time stopping by. We were considering taking our food to go. But Ed insisted we stay and eat it fresh. I am glad we stayed. The service here was so welcoming and kind. That was refreshing. The food was so fresh & delicious! It was beautiful to look at. I am glad that we have Mediterranean Grill in our neighborhood. Definitely worth a visit. Please check them out. I'll be back!

Cheers Yelpers! How sweet to bring ice cold water and Shirazi Salad on this hot day!

The owner greeted me with a smile! The Athletics vs Astros game was playing with Nick Kurtz making his epic debut! It is a comfy and clean restaurant! I love the Christmas tree and angels that decorate the space all year. The young server, also wearing a big smile, welcomed me with a complimentary bottle of cold water and a dish of Shiraz salad while I waited for my order. When I asked him which was his favorite, he said it would be hard to say because they were all good! He finally narrowed it down and suggested the Chicken Plate, but I ordered the Greek Chicken Sandwich. Mediterranean Grill did not disappoint. The chicken kebab was moist, delicious and fresh, and it was surrounded with lettuce, tomatoes, and lots of onions. And if that wasn't enough to seal the deal, Ed the owner came out to bring me the famous rice that normally complements the chicken kebab plate. Here is an owner who truly wants to make sure his patrons are happy! Two thumbs up, waaay up!

    3. Ground Chicken Koubideh Platter with salad and garlic sauce

I ordered the #3 Chicken Koubideh, which comes with basmati rice, a fresh salad, pita bread, and garlic sauce. It's a generously sized meal, and for the price, you'll definitely have some leftovers. The chicken was so tender that it practically melted in my mouth. The seasoning was perfect, and the rice was cooked to perfection. I especially loved the salad. It was a great portion, and the vinaigrette dressing was absolutely delicious. The restaurant is small and charming, with beautiful pictures of Pasadena decorating the walls. The owner is incredibly kind and always offers water to his customers. He greets everyone with a warm smile, making you feel welcome from the moment you walk in. I highly recommend this charming little restaurant. Be sure to stop by and support this wonderful small business!

Visited this spot on a Thursday evening and there was no line. They have parking in the back. Staff was friendly at the counter and provided free bottles of water. There's plenty of seating inside. I ordered the chicken shwarma bowl to go. It's a good portion for $11.99. There's a credit card fee that I didn't see a sign for, and their receipt doesn't have a line item breakdown. Taste wise though, it was filling and savory. They could've drizzled more of the sauce.

Was in the area and decided to try this Mediterranean place out since I haven't eaten it in a while. There is small parking lot behind the building so parking is not hard on weekdays. They have plenty of seating inside and also a few tables outside which is nice. I ended up ordering the Chicken Shawerma bowl ($11.99?). The employees were friendly and they even give a free bottle of water. I ordered it to-go since I brought my dog with me. When it ready, the employee was super nice and brought it outside! Great service! The bowl is one size only and had a pretty decent sized portion for the price. There is good proportion of chicken and the rice and lettuce. My only small complaint is there wasn't much sauce so it wasn't as flavorful after mixing it together. As for the taste, it is pretty good but I have tasted better chicken shawerma at another spot where it was just more flavorful. But this place is still pretty good and seems authentic. I think it would have tasted better with more sauce. I would recommend this spot if you're looking for Mediterranean food nearby. They have lots of options to choose from.

    Combo plate

The combo plate is my favorite. The service is very friendly. I've been back several times for the combo plate. Definitely try it if you haven't been here.

The Mediterranean Grill is located at 105 North Hill Avenue #101 Pasadena California 91101. It is a small, popular eating establishment. It is located with a number of other restaurants. The location is very visible as you drive north or south on Hill. Parking is available in a number of different areas. They have their own parking lot alongside the edge of the building. There is also street parking that is usually available along the side street. Upon entering the patio area of this building you will notice outside seating with umbrellas. The Mediterranean Grill is located in suite 101. When you enter you walk through the inside seating to the counter to place your order. I had a number of questions concerning their menu and the gentleman at the register was very helpful in giving me suggestions of different dishes I might enjoy. I ordered a number of items so that I could get an understanding of their menu. I decided to order three items. A salad and two dinners. As I sat down to wait for my order, a staff member brought over a small salad and a small bottle of water for me to enjoy while I was waiting. I found out that the salad was a shirazi salad. It was bright and refreshing. The lemon and olive oil dressing was perfect along with the chopped onions, marinated cucumber, tomatoes, and parsley. Enjoyable! I picked up my carefully packaged order and was on my way home. I was eager to try some new flavors. The aroma of the food was still present as I opened each of the three items. The Greek salad with chicken had a great flavor. There were large chunks of lightly fried chicken pieces, with fresh cucumbers, feta cheese, olives, lettuce, onions, with their special olive and lemon dressing. This salad is a full meal, very satisfying. The chicken platter with white meat included rice, a marinated cucumber salad, a tomato, and jalapeno. I had a choice of with seeds or without and I decided to spice it up and ordered with the seeds. There is definitely a lot of food . then one dinner. I found out that it tasted good the next day. Their special sauce is amazing. The beef skewer was very tender and filled with flavor. The meat had been marinated and tasted great both warm and cold the following day, as did the other items. I was so intrigued by the menu that I went again for the gyro roll and the falafel platter. Both were well worth the return visit. Highly recommend the flavorful food at Mediterranean Grill! Their service, recipes, and food are well worth the visit. I look forward to returning to experience more items on the menu.

I'm unsure if the guy is the owner or works here but he is awesome great customer service and I am so stressed out and he brought a smile to my face making things a bit better food is awesome here I love in Victorville now but when I come to Pasadena I like coming here I will totally recommend

I have been to Mediterranean Grill several times. Then the Eaton fires. And mudslides. Finally swing by for a quick lunch. I had forgotten how warm and hospitable this place is AND how tasty. The owner gave me a plate of salad "while I waited" for my salmon plate. The salmon was delicious. So was the tabouli which I asked for in lieu of rice. I offered to pay extra. Instead he gave me a cucumber/tomato salad while I waited and tabouli. A friendly place with a warm heart. Located on Hill street near Pasadena City College one might overlook it due to its spartan layout. The ambience says "student". The food and hospitality say so much more. A gem.

Come to find out the food is now actually blah blah blah! The cold super thin pita bread was cold & flavorless and oddly comes with a cold cube of butter, what the heck am I supposed to do with that? It won't melt on a cold piece of pita bread. Then the iceberg salad comes out with two small dressing containers to use; this salad had a lot of "bones" [what the hard white parts of lettuce are called]. At least the cucumbers were crunchy, as well as the 2 pieces of tomatoes. I ordered the Koobideh Combo [Beef & Chicken]; and my friend ordered the Chicken Kabob [white meat]. The lacking of flavor in the Koobideh beef & chicken was unbelievable, I asked for a grilled serrano or jalapeno chili and the waitress said they had ran out. I was 2:00 p.m., what do you mean you ran out? We were looking for something to "save" this blandness of both our dishes; thank gawd they have containers of sumac & salt at the table. The basmati rice was bland as well. The beef koobideh, tasted like plain hamburger meat with minimal seasoning. Bottom line, I didn't finish my dish, I just left most of it. My motto is: "If it's not worth the calories, don't eat it." As for the environment: No music, etc. I really don't mean to bash the place; but you guys need to spruce up the place. Not only do we have to chaperone the visiting friends to tourist hot spots that we generally avoid in everyday life; but even the restaurants we choose as dining options need to be positioned on a perfect pedestal that impresses but is still comfortable. A very close friend of mine from Nashville visits the City of Angels once a year; and I always feel the stress to impress in regards to dining. In 2026, we decided on a more casual dinner than our usual upscale entertainments and opted for Pasadena. Of course, I turned to Yelp and that is how I discovered Café Santorini. Café Santorini has been a favorite dining option in the Old Pasadena neighborhood of Pasadena since 1993 on the intersection of West Union and De Lacey (a block from Colorado Blvd) nestled in one of the famous historic red-brick buildings with alley alcoves that makes Old Pasadena so beloved. Café Santorini encapsulates European love that is as warm as its bricks uniting the culinary richness of Italy, Greece and Morocco in semi-upscale/trendy real estate with iron railings, high ceilings, exposed brickwork, duct beams and glossy wood surfaces that is both inviting and will absolutely entice tourists and residents, alike. Whether seeking indoor dining bar-adjacent with tables or booths or the lovely outdoor second-floor patio alcove overlooking the plant-filled alleys below; Café Santorini is quite pleasant on the eyes. My Nashville-based friend and I made a reservation for an early dinner at 4pm on a Saturday and Café Santorini was already filled to the gills and bustling with activity (granted, there was a Guns n Roses concert at the nearby Rose Bowl in the evening). Opting to sit outdoors due to the loud volume in the dining room; we had a perfect ratio of casual and date-worthy. Café Santorini is seamless with its 'vibe'. To begin the evening, we opted for some cocktails with a Smoke and Citrus Paloma (grapefruit and lime juice, smoked sea salt agave syrup and soda water, alcohol free at $12 but I made it alcoholic with mezcal) for me while my friend ordered a traditional margarita on the rocks (no salt) as we gazed the menu and also decided on sharing a Grape Leaves appetizer (rice, herbs, tomato paste - $16). If you are Celiac like myself and need gluten-free options, Café Santorini is AMAZING in its GF options (also dairy free and vegan dishes) with more choices than usual competitor restaurants which that alone makes it stand out from the crowd. Our drinks arrived in classy and colorful derivations with my paloma holding a seducing orange hue akin to a setting California sun with dried rosemary and dried fruit with the margarita being perfectly yellow-ish green with a dried lime. My paloma was delicious with an ideal combination of sweet to alcohol and smoke with the margarita being refreshing and tangy. I am quite picky with grape leaves having friends from the Middle East living in the US but Café Santorini's grape leaves (5 pieces) are delicious both in texture and flavor without being too bitter which is sometimes the case. For dinner I chose the Branzino (Grilled Mediterranean sea bass, lemon Greek potatoes, dill, capers- $42) while my friend wasn't super famished and decided on Greek Salad Horiatiki (Valdivia Farms tomatoes, Persian cucumbers, Anaheim peppers, red onions, Kalamata olives, feta cheese, lemon juice - $17). One of my favorite details of Café Santorini is their capacity to present elegant dishes that are still simple and not pretentious on plateware that encompasses Greece itself with colorful mosaic prints and painted motifs. The ingredients are fresh, colorful and artfully displayed. My Branzino was faultless: grilled perfectly with charred grill marks and crispy skin (large filet) with capers and fresh dill with fingerling potatoes based under the fish soaking up the lemon juices. Delightful! The Greek Salad Horiatiki allowed the garden-fresh veggies to truly shine even with the lemon juice/oil and large piece of feta making it a perfect summer option. Service at Café Santorini is friendly and a family-like atmosphere with every staff member acknowledging you as you saunter by, answering all questions and constantly smiling. Café Santorini is an overall pleasant joy of an experience. Whether you need to impress out-of-state friends or simply seeking Mediterranean fare in Old Pasadena; Café Santorini is a musty-try for a casual meets elegance dining experience.

I still remembered the vibe of the restaurant although it looks like the menu was simplified. The hummus was not homemade and it seems to be from a factory so there's that. Although it was okay. My only suggestion would be to get more ventilation bc upon walking up to restaurants it looked steamy. Like what my daughter's JiuJitsu Gym looks like when there's a class in session. The windows look like they could use a PROFESSIONAL wipe down. With chemicals probably after hours lol idk. I love that this place is still there as a staple to Pasadena, although let's step it up a tiny bit guys

I first tried Zankou Chicken in 2013 when my friend recommended it and I'm finally back to have it…read moreagain and it still hits! The rotisserie chicken is amazing, the chicken kebab plate is also one of my favorites. The hummus and tzatziki are my favorite sides and you have to eat it with the pita! Love that it comes on a bed of fluffy rice. The sauces here are so good - garlic sauce and tahini are actually way better than anywhere else. Great deals because most items are under $20. I definitely will have to come back here more often!! Service is friendly and they make everything to order so it's not that fast but it's ok! Ambiance is very casual. Ask the cashier for the bathroom door code!
