We discovered Mediterranean Grill only recently, and now we've come here a few times now after looking for a different, more diverse place that serves Persian + quintessential Middle Eastern food in the Pasadena area. My kids are weirdly obsessed with chicken koobideh so whenever we feel like they need a good dose of protein, Persian it is. Anyway, we've never been disappointed here, whether take-out or dine-in. Food is also very fresh, flavorful, and massive portions with both their plates and wraps. My relatively picky husband and son ate nearly everything last time we were here, which is saying a lot. Staff is super friendly, always offering complementary bottled water and appetizers; they seem truly happy to have - and to interact with - customers, in stark contrast to the other Persian place close by. TLDR: Hands down one the BEST restaurants that I've tried in Pasadena and in delivery too. Both the rainbow trout and gyro plate are worth savoring and experiencing. I will never let that spicy boii be on my plate ever again when I return in the future. - - - - - - I discovered Mediterranean Grill on Postmates and wasn't in the cooking mood. I wasn't sure what to order, but a handful of reviews highly praise their rainbow trout fish. Now, I'm not a big fan of fish, but I am open to trying new cuisines. I ended up ordering a Rainbow Trout Fish and Gyro Plate. Both entrees come with a bed of rice, a fresh side salad, a roasted tomato, a roasted jalapeno (caution: SPICYY), a pita bread, and a tasty white sauce. The gyro were very tasty and not too salty. They were salted just right, but also the right texture that they weren't burnt but not too wimpy. The roasted tomatoes were sweet; I really wished I had more! The bread? Amazing. White sauce? Ditto. The rice? Cooked to perfection, smooth, and a delight to eat. The rainbow trout had me a little anxious because I'm not a fan of fish. However, it was very tasty nonetheless. It was cooked perfectly and not too dry. The lemon and herbs and spices used to season the fish made it one-of-a-kind, and I would not hesitate to visit in person after experiencing this excellence in a delivery meal. I have passed by this place MANY times. So, when deciding what to have for lunch today, this came to mind. I pulled around to their parking lot (accessed on Union Street) and entered from their rear door. It was very easy access. I walked in and was greeting by a very personable young man at the register. Not only did I STUDY the menu, I asked TONS of questions. This young man thoroughly answered every question with a warm smile. I very much appreciated that. I finally decided on the Ground Beef Kabob Plate for takeout. It comes with two kabob-shaped patties, rice, salad, garlic sauce, a grilled jalapeño and a grilled tomato. Suddenly, another man (maybe the owner?) handed me a complimentary bottle of cold water. But wait, there's more. He then came and gave me a small plate of the most delicious Shirazi salad (tomato, parsley, cucumber with a flavorful vinaigrette, to keep me occupied during my brief wait. I literally felt like an esteemed guest in their home. When they handed me my Kabob Plate, it felt heavy. I later determined that the rice was PLENTIFUL. I believe that's where the weight came from. I don't recall ever having ground beef kabobs. But I must say that I plan to have them from here again. Everything on my plate was absolutely marvelous. The rice was flavorful but not overpowering. It did what it was supposed to do - accompany the meat. Salad was good and the garlic sauce was phenomenal. Had I known, I'd have asked for extra. My tab came to just over $20 for the plate. This is a tad bit more than this retired gal is usually willing to pay for lunch. But I got TWO meals out of this plate. So, it was very much worth it. I give it a thumbs up. read more

I had the absolute pleasure of visiting this restaurant while I was in Pasadena last year on a school trip and let me tell you, I think about the food at least once a week! This is absolutely the best Mediterranean food I have ever eaten. Everything was fresh and prepared with care. Not to mention, the portion sizes were incredible for the price (especially in SoCal)! All my friends ordered different items from the menu and we shared with each other and everything I ate was incredible! My friends and I were the only people in the restaurant at the time and everyone on the staff made us feel so welcome! They let us push tables together so we could all sit next to each other.
