We were driving home from Pismo Beach on Friday and looked online for a place to eat. Our whole family loves Middle Eastern food, and the exceptional reviews for Mediterranean Spice sucked us in. So here's one more exceptional review. My wife and I shared a tri-tip sandwich, wrapped in lavash, and it was delicious. They even have a condiment bar where you can grab pickled turnips. Garlic sauce, spicy garlic sauce, tahini, jalapenos, and more. The sandwich was well balanced, had lots of tri-tip, and the bread held up. We also had the sampler platter with some of the best falafel we've ever had, fantastic homemade grape leaf dolmas, hummus, and a few other odds and ends. Our son got a Kafka kebab and loved it. Everything was fresh and delicious, and the prices were totally reasonable. I foresee Mediterranean Spice being a regular stop on future trips through Paso. read more

Best veggie pizza we've had in a long time. The ingredients were fresh and plentiful and the crust baked up light and fluffy. The Dolmas were great and reminded me of my aunts homemade ones. The grilled veggie salad was huge and loaded with freshly grilled onions, zucchini, bell peppers - very good. You could tell the chefs took pride in their meals. I had heard good things about Mediterranean Spice so I decided to give it a try and ordered some takeout. I ordered the Gyro sandwich, the Falafel sandwich, as well as two appetizers- the stuffed grape leaves and the 3-piece Spanakopita. Both sandwiches were a bit dry even though they had a sauce and spice bar to bring sauces home. The grape leaves (dolmas) were good but the spanakopita was also dry. The service was good and the food was ready when I arrived. I'll give them another try dining in the restaurant to see if it was just an off day for them or me. read more

This location used to been a chicken place and a soul place before they change this to mediterranean. Before this place opened up, there was Moe's pizza on Spring street and last time we when there was disappointing. so today (10-16) we went to try this place out. Me and my mom got the domas and the spanakopita with a gyro sandwich and i got the beef kabab plate. I got a diet pepsi as you need to tell someone behind the counter to tell them what drink you want and they will give you that drink. The place has booths like it felt like a diner. as soon as we got home, we had our dinner the appetizers we had were good. My kabeb was good, but the rice was ok. Mediterranean Spice really knows how to deliver! Between the spices, the tender meats and their delicious garlic sauces/condiments bar - I am so impressed! We ordered the Beef Kofta and the meat was perfectly cooked and very juicy which is hard to find with Kofta. We also tried the combo plate (chicken, beef and lamb) which blew us away. Pizza was essentially a DiGiorno with added ingredients. The gyro meat just fell off when picking it up. I ordered the chicken shawarma platter and the rice was lacking flavor and the chicken was not as generous as in the past.
