Turkish Coffee
Madi M.

Mixed grill for one was very appealing and I was excited to try. All meat was well spiced, fresh and juicy. It comes with 2 pieces of each lamb, chicken and one skewer of kofte kebab and some doner meat. Rice was cooked to perfection and salad was very tasty and fresh. However I wish they would offer some kind of dipping sauce to meat. Coffee was subpar. 1/3 of cup was filled with coffee sediments. They offer flat bread in the beginning, comes plain and dry, when asked about dip or sauce, was pointed condiments with olive oil and salt in the middle of the table...

My wife enjoyed and shared a Doner Kabob, thin slices of marinated lamb and beef on a bed of rice. I enjoyed a Turkish pizza, Lahmachun, thin crust topped with mixed ground lamb and beef and chopped garden vegetables. Both plates came with a side salad and a wedge of lemon. When we first sat down a basket with some flatbread was brought out, we both gave this item 2 stars, most places bring this out fresh and hot, this one tasted meh...we took a couple bites and left the rest alone....I enjoyed a small cup of Turkish coffee.

Extras for lamarchun

I was so happy I found a favorite of mine from my years living around turkey. Lamarchun is a flavor pleasure I just enjoy each time. I tried chefs table and they just didn't have anymore for the everyday customer. So I found it here, be sure to have a taste. Hot and crisp edges just add to to culinary enjoyment.

Food was great! Soo much food to try and there's something for everyone. Made to order and super fresh. Service was great and very accommodating. Place was quaint. I would definitely recommend and go back myself.

Solid Mediterranean food near the airport! You start off with some free bread which is nice and warm. We ordered the mixed grill which was really good! I definitely recommend it if you wanna try all the different meats The service was a little bit slow which was unfortunate but I don't really want to dock them when the food was pretty darn good. Just something of note. You definitely feel like you're in a Turkish restaurant, the ambiance is pretty authentic which is cool.

Lamb Shish Kebab

I recently ordered a lamb shish kebab and a Turkish tea to sip on while waiting for my food. Unfortunately, my experience was disappointing. I did not receive the Turkish tea as expected; instead, the staff member behind the counter seemed preoccupied and I ended up with a tea from a dispenser, which tasted like basic Lipton black tea bags. Additionally, the lamb shish kebab, priced at $20, was not satisfactory either. It consisted of five small, charred pieces of meat that were heavily seasoned with pepper. The only good thing about this whole plate was the pickled cabbage ...Overall, I found the quality of both the drink and the meal to be below my expectations. Oh, and to put the cherry on top, I was not given any utensils...I know you can eat this with the lavash, but we are not in Turkey, so I was expecting at least a fork...

What this place lacks in decor the excellent service and food make up for it. I know there are some reviews here that make it sound like the food here is horrible; everyone has their own flavor pallet. As for how I rate the food, I find the food very flavorful. It's not overwhelming or lacking. The babaganoush was something very different and not what I'm used to. It was tasty and creamy! My husband isn't a fan of babaganoush, but the one here, he actually liked! Turkish Pizza!! OMG... that was amazing. Ordered the Lahmachun and added babaganoush on top... Amazing. My daughter and I shared the Doner Kabab plate. The serving size is quite healthy so if you're hungry, there's plenty of food. As for the 4 star rating, I usually rate restaurants that blow me away with 5 stars. I love food and am willing to try pretty much anything. Bon Appètit

This isn't a 5 start restaurant by any means but the food and service are. They take care of you here and are very patient. Food came quick and our group wasn't disappointed. From the salad to the grilled meats. Everything had a lot of flavor. I don't know much about Turkish cuisine but I do know I'll be back to try the other menu items.

Our twelve guests ranged in age from 14-79 years, and everyone had a wonderful experience. We began with waters for the table, soft drinks, and cocktails/mocktails (Man Walks into a Bar, Amba No. 5, Don Alberto, Green Shug Collins). Due to our large party, we had booked a chef's tasting experience, which was spectacular. The appetizers were plentiful, flavorful, and unique. Our server, Anissa, did a wonderful job of explaining each dish-- its components, highlights, even suggesting that after finishing the beef dumplings, we stir the oil and yogurt together for an amazing pita dipping sauce. Our meal included four meats-- actually five, considering an off menu chef's creation for our pescatarian guest. It was such an immersive experience, I never took out my phone to capture photos of the food (or our group, sadly). Three desserts topped off the evening. When (not if) we return, we'll certainly request Anissa again. She made the evening a complete delight, even bringing out celebratory candles for our honored guests.

We went to Ladino's with a large group and chose their group dining option, where they bring out a…read morewide variety of dishes for everyone to try. Overall, I'd say most of the people in our group probably would not go back, but I don't necessarily think that was because the food was bad or lacking flavor. I think a lot of us just weren't very accustomed to Mediterranean flavor profiles and this style of dining. Most of us really enjoyed the dips, the meats, and the desserts. Those were definitely the standout parts of the meal for our group. Some of the dishes in between were a little more questionable for us personally -- we tried everything, but there wasn't necessarily one specific dish we completely fell in love with. That being said, the experience itself was amazing. The atmosphere was so cool and unlike anything we had done before. Being served course after course and getting to experience so many different dishes made the meal feel really unique and memorable. All of the staff members who waited on us were absolutely fantastic and so understanding of some of our questioning looks while trying unfamiliar foods. Everyone was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and made the experience feel fun and comfortable from start to finish. If you already love Mediterranean food, this place may be right up your alley. I just think it's good to know what kind of flavor profiles to expect before coming, especially if you're newer to this type of cuisine. Overall, we still had a great time there.

Some restaurants feed you. Tripoli's transports you. From…read morethe moment you walk in, the space does something to you -- warm lighting, tufted banquettes, burgundy velvet chairs with gold legs, and a ceiling panel with intricate geometric lattice work straight out of a Moroccan riad. It doesn't feel like a strip mall restaurant. It feels intentional. The pastry case alone deserves its own review. Piped butter cookies, rose-dotted squares dusted with cardamom, delicate filled rolls -- it's the kind of display that makes you order dessert before you've even sat down. And then the food. The chicken shawarma bowl is not playing around -- seasoned chicken, kalamata olives, crumbled feta, creamy garlic sauce over a bed of greens, finished with cracked pepper. Every bite is layered and bold. The kind of meal that makes you pause mid-fork and just appreciate it. What sets Tripoli's apart isn't just the food or the ambiance. It's that the whole experience feels curated. Like someone who actually loves this culture built this place and meant every single detail. San Antonio has been sleeping on this gem. Wake up!!

I had a hard time walking out without calling for the manager or owner. I would like to start my…read morepost with the positive so here it goes. The ambiance was great, everything from the decorative rugs, Arab writing on the wall, tagine pottery and brass crafts were perfectly displayed. The tabbouleh salad was very tasty, it had the right amount of ingredients making it pretty as well as colorful placed in the neat brass metal bowl. Now with the things that require immediate remedial attention: 1. The burger was overrated, overcooked and dry. 2. The chick pea salad lacked chick peas, dressing, onions and feta cheese. 3. The lamb Kofta plate was prepared right however, it was not enough meat for the price and the cream sauce tasted like straight butter with a hint of garlic. The pita bread was lukewarm and looked like it had been unwrapped, quartered and thrown in a microwave for 30 seconds prior to serving it. 4. Drinks Ordered: The Cafe' Arabia was very tasty BUT, I didn't get it until we were almost done with our meal. We ordered drinks when we were first seated so that was a big red flag. My wife also ordered the Moroccan mint teapot and she didn't get it until after I got my coffee. I told the barista/waiter to cancel it when I got my coffee but he said it was also ready for us and could put it in a to-go cup for her. That kind of defeated the whole experience of drinking tea while waiting for our meal. 5. The service was really slow. Took over 15 minutes to get our (tap) waters and 20 minutes for our food when we were the only ones in the restaurant until we had placed our order. 6. The waitress needs some serious people skills and bussing training to know how to serve food and drinks. She touched the tops of the glasses her fingers. She didn't greet us and practically dropped the plates on the table when she brought them out. To add insult to injury, she put the handheld pay device on the table without asking us if we wanted or needed anything else. My kids wanted to try out some desserts, so luckily for us, the nearby HEB has plenty to offer. I had high hopes for this place because of what the owner posted on Instagram and it is so close to our neighborhood. Guess we will have to continue driving further into the city to other Mediterranean and Middle-Eastern restaurants that have better food and service.
