MedSpring is by far the best urgent care I have been to in Austin. I came in for X Rays on my foot and left with the satisfaction of great service across the board. Every person on staff treated me with care and respect. Their facilities are extremely clean. This was the most relaxing and comforting visit to an urgent care from the time I walked in (more like limped in) from the time I left. Their friendly staff made checking in a breeze as I waited in the front area- I was even offered complimentary snacks and beverages!! I loved how the exam room had a mini couch for me to relax instead of those uncomfortable plastic chairs all the other places have. I was able to wait for my X Rays with the option of watching TV or reading magazines provided. My room even had a kids table with crayons and coloring books - great for moms trying to entertain their children!! The Dr. on site was very thorough in his explanation of my injury and was able to answer all of my questions. MedSpring is above all other urgent cares with the quality of staff, facilities, speed of service, and cleanliness. I HIGHLY recommend MedSpring for anyone and everyone looking for great service and care. read more

DO NOT GO HERE!!! I'm not sure why I kept going back after the staff messed up my prescriptions twice! The second time my daughter was very ill and I had to wait four hours for her prescription! The third time, which shame on me for going back, was no different. They sent in the wrong prescription. When I called to ask them why on earth I would ever go back, they would not answer and hung up on me!!! Don't be fooled by the looks of it, very nice and clean and free snacks. Keep that junk! Save yourself time, go to one of the other hundered minute clinics down the street and buy your own snack. Oh and I tried to call the "corporate" office, no supervisor on site. Had to take my daughter in on a day after a holiday. It was a bit of a wait but other clinics weren't even open. It was very kid friendly - they have tunable TVs in the rooms, so we were able to placate the little one with cartoons. We also received great follow up care. Another plus since other places we've been don't bother with you once you're out the door. Everyone was very nice and everything was very clean. Highly recommeded! read more

Then. after my hour and a half with one patient in front of me - I heard the same lines in my visit. They don't listen or seem to care. But...... they will take your money. read more

Clean, quick, and great care. I went in for severe gastroenteritis, syncope, and dehydration. Although they had to stick me three times before they finally got an iv line started, I can't complain (I was dehydrated after all). I apologize I don't remember the x-ray tech's name, but she was very attentive and positive. Rob was amazing. Even though I felt like death ran over me he made it such a positive experience. My only two complaints (which was out of the control of the immediate staff) was that they have no blankets :-( and they have a policy against iv push meds. Dehydration + iv hydration= shivering out of control and projectile vomiting + explosive diarrhea + 3 iv sticks should = iv push zofran (not IM). We compromised and did another sublingual zofran. Overall, better experience than expected, thank you Rob and staff! read more

Brought my 12 year old for a physical for school. I had to drag my 9 year old too, he hates going to the doctor's office and it's worse when he has to wait. That immediately changed when the Front Desk Clerk told us they had snacks. My son goes and grabs a bag of Goldfish as I made some coffee. His mood immediately changed, thank goodness. We had a relatively short wait and the doctor saw my daughter and all we paid was $19.00 with a coupon. We don't have insurance so this place is a Godsend, so thankful for it. They accept all kinds of insurance with the exception of some Medicaid, I believe they only take Traditional. It didn't feel at all like going to the doctor's office, it was very mellow and welcoming. Will definitely come back! read more

I was completely unhappy with my visit. The doctor was rude and didn't seem to care about my issues. He was more focused on symptoms of I didn't have then the ones I do have. I waited for an hour and half for him to come in and talk to me for five minutes. He never really gave me a reason why I was sick or what I had. I was also told to take 3 days off of work but didn't give me a note. I had to go back and get one. If I could I would give them zero starts. read more

This place was absolutely horrible!! The front desk person, Duane, was completely unfriendly and just plain rude. At one point he started shouting at me as I simply requested they contact my PCP. Dr Ibara should have his license revoked!! He was by far the worst doctor I have ever seen in my life. He seemed as though he had no empathy towards his patients and was a total jerk. The facility itself was dirty. There were dirty tissues on almost every table. They had no trashcan in the reception area except in the beverage area (gross). The nasty leatherette sofas in the rooms were gross. I will never visit a MedSpring ever again after this experience and I highly suggest you look elsewhere. read more

Cut my finger badly today. Went here for a fix. There was an hour wait, but as expected for a Saturday around noon. All of the staff was friendly and efficient. 5 stitches in my finger were done well. I'm not sure yet how my insurance will match up with the bill so cost impact is TBD. Dear Austinites, I was recently in need of IV fluids and a shot for anti-nausea due to food poisoning and consequently too much throwing up. When this has happened to me in the past I usually end up in the ER- which takes forever to get seen, rushed service and eventually a gigantic bill! This time my husband decided to call an emergency clinic and we ended up at MedSpring. The staff here were attentive, fast, and I got my IV within 30 minutes of arriving. The paperwork was question answer and then inputted into an ipad- no paperwork! Also, in the end my bill was just $25 copay :) The Dr. Hall and nurse Michael answered all of my questions and talked me through my choices. I highly recommend MedSpring! read more

Took my fiance here with a bite on her ankle that was causing swelling. Was pretty sure it was a spider bite, and mentioned it to the physician, who treated her allergies, ignored my opinions, and sent us away with $135 consultation fee (we do not have health insurance) and some prescription strength Benadryl. Two days later the bite has continued to get worse, and is showing every sign of being a brown recluse bite. When I called to get a follow up to correct the doctor's oversight, I was told I would be billed another $135 consultation fee to look at it, and that if they were unable to treat it I would be sent to the Emergency Room and charged a $45 fee just to be told they couldn't treat it. Kristin the receptionist, however, was very nice to us. Follow-Up: Dr. Belsher spoke to us personally and has offered to give us a follow up visit on them. He was very empathetic on the phone and I think that my experience was more a case of one doctor and not so much the clinic as a a whole. read more

Don't waste your time or your money. They are only interested in your copay. My doctor did nothing to relieve my symptoms and as a result of not being prescribed proper medicine, I have became more ill and will have to miss work. I've never felt so ignored as a patient. It doesn't matter how sick you are or your medical history they will refuse to give you medicine due to "procedural" reasons. Medspring how about you tell your patients up front that you will do nothing for them before you waste their time at a worthless appointment when they are so sick they barely have the energy to get there in the place? read more

I had the unfortunate necessity of attending this place because I had a drug screening from an employer that needed to be done here. Any other time I've ever had to do a drug screen it was always done withing 10-15 minutes so I figured this would be no different. I went there ready to give my specimen. Well after waiting about 10 minutes on the front for someone to come out and help me someone came out and we started on the paperwork. I informed the lady that I was ready to pee and was actually jumping a little sense I really had to go. She showed me to the back where for entertainment I had a non working tv and one magazine that was 3 years old. I proceeded to wait and after about 40 minutes of walking back and forth I finally had to leave to find a restroom. It started hurting from waiting. Afterwards I chugged about 4 apple juices and she showed me back into the room. Another 40-50 minutes passed and I was about 5 minutes away from having to leave to the restroom again sense my bladder was beginning to hurt again. Moral of the story is I had to wait a little over 2 hours just to pee in a cup and had to endure pain and almost peeing myself twice before someone came to give me the damn cup. I've never had to wait this long for a drug screening. Simply ridiculous. If you can avoid this place please do, otherwise if you have no options like me I wish you good luck. read more

I went here today to get my leg looked at. I was hiking a couple weeks ago and rolled on a rock and all of my weight landed on my leg which was crunched up under me. Its still hurting days later so decided to get an x-ray. It was just an amazing experience from beginning to end. I was greeted with a smile and sympathy when I described my problem to the front desk host, Kristen. She took my id and insurance and I was back in a room in about 3 minutes. Tech, Keely, came in almost immediately and efficiently got my vitals, asked what my preferred pharmacy was and documented my medical history. Then I was left in the room to watch the Food Network. I was just getting into it when Dr Brader came in. He was immediately jovial and interested in how the injury had happened. He sat and we talked for a few minutes and then he did a physical exam and ordered an x-ray. Then keely was back and took me to the x-ray suite and back to my room, and before I even got to read about Kate and Wills making out at the Olympics, Dr Brader was back with my initial results! No fracture, woohoo! He talked about other things it could be, said he'd follow up with me tomorrow with the radiologist report, made some recommendations and I was done! The entire visit lasted about 20 minutes, So much cheaper than the ER, no wait and my visit literally took minutes. I hate going to the doctor, which is why i waited almost 3 weeks to get the leg looked at, but medspring made it so quick and easy. I hope I wont be back but if I have to be sick or hurt, this is the place to be. I can see this being a great place for parents--there were kids coloring tables in the rooms stocked with crayons, obviously kid-friendly waiting room. read more

I have been to this clinic for other minor illnesses and camp physicals. Never again. I was diagnosed with an infection on Thursday morning. When I wasn't better on Saturday morning, I called back, per the doctor's recommendation. That doctor wasn't on duty, but the phone tech took a message at 10:15 am. After waiting until 6:20 pm, with the same to worsening signs of infection, I called back, explained that I was headed to ER and needed the lab results or contact information for the lab that they were sent to STAT. I called back an hour later, and they tried to give me a runaround, contrary to my rights under HIPAA. What could have been a simple meds change has now ballooned to something potentially life-threatening due to the neglect of the staff and physician (Dr. Coughlin, according to the call center) at this location. read more

This place is amazing! From the moment you walk in the door your greeted by someone with a friendly smile who is ready to get you checked in and get you back to a room. The assistants/LVNS, etc are so friendly and helpful. The doctors are great too. They care about getting you treated and taken care of for the long term. I was in and out in 30 minutes. Another great feature is they call into your pharmacy so that you don't have to wait when you go pick it up. I have had family and friends go here after I did and they also had excellent service as well. Great service , attitudes and great medical staff who care. read more

I'm sorry for the low rating,but my wife did not get the best of care here! My wife, who is 72, suffered a fall, and we went to this clinic. After telling them about her injuries to her wrist, face, knees, and ankle , they only Xrayed her wrist. After a 2nd visit, they still dismissed the pain she had around her eye. Well after visiting another doctor, we discovered she had a fracture in the lower center of her eye socket and now it is so long past the incident that it can't be reconstructed. While I'm at it, I might as well mention that the people at the counter were very abrupt even though there were no other people there at the time. We must have interrupted their break time or something. Bottom line: Next time we have need for emergency care, we'll go to Cedar Park Regional Hospital's ER - They are professional and VERY THROUGH. read more

I am thankful for MedSpring's late hours. They saved me having to wait for hours in the ER. I was checked in minutes before closing and the staff were amazingly nice and helpful. I loved the Doctor and his bedside manner. He even followed up my visit with a phone call the next day. I ended up needing a shot that did not hurt. Amazing Nurses and techs! We have used this medical facility several times in the past and have gotten great service. Although, the last couple times we have gone, the service has been horrible. In fact, a family member was turned away from care because Medspring did not send the icd-9 code to our insurance company from 2 months ago. Therfore, the balance on our account was astronomical due to the ignorance of the Medspring billing dept. If I could select zero stars, I certainly would. Should be called "we-dont-give-a-damnSpring" I took my daughter in with a back sprain so bad she could hardly move. The doctor looks at her a bit, hands her a piece of paper with generic info about the back and calls a prescription for some patches that can be had over the counter. No explanation of what she prescribed, nothing. The manner was uncaring and generally uncaring and unfriendly. There are now other options in the area and to be sure, we will seek care elsewhere. read more

I used to like this place. It's clean, and the wait is minimal. However--my last visit changed my mind! I took my little boy in who was in a great deal of stomach pain...the doctor immediately sent me to the ER, without an examination. Perfectly Fine. But-they then billed us just for walking through the door! We asked for a bill that showed specifically what they did for us (for insurance) and we never got one. We asked them to bill our insurance company directly, which is common practice and they didn't. Months went by, we never got any paperwork from our insurance company, so we called Medspring to check on it-gave them our insurance information and waited for the bill from BCBS. Never got anything. Today, I get a letter from a collection agency for this!! Unreal. read more

I've read some of the negative reviews and all I can say is that from our perspective we've not encountered anything negative. The entire staff is incredibly friendly. If you expect to be treated for anything the task to do with pain. They do not prescribe any medications to help with pain. It's apparently their policy to let people suffer rather than treat them. When I called to ask for help and had numerous accounts of documentation they couldn't do anything other than say it's against their policy to give patients what they need. So much better than a normal doctor! Had to go here twice this spring--both times on weekends--and was in and out so much faster than ARC. First time I had contracted hand-foot-mouth disease from kid's daycare; second time I had stepped on a nail. Both times I was seen immediately and released within 30-40 minutes.
