Next, it is employee owned. Everyone inside seems to care about making you a happy customer because they own a stake in it. Lastly, this place is massive! I can't rally explain to you how massive. It is 242,000 square feet of groceries. For scale, that is 15 commercial Boeing 737 jetliners inside or 395 full sized semi trucks or the entire New York City Central Park Zoo! Unfortunately, the representatives there have also been unfriendly and unprofessional, like they are doing you a favor. On top of the poor service, the prices in this store are outrageously high compared to other grocery stores in the area. Between the inaccurate sale pricing, the attitude from employees, and the overall experience, this location has been by far one of the worst grocery stores I've dealt with. THE WORST! They have one of the best selections of ethnic foods in the area so finding something special is usually easy to do there. Their produce can't be beaten. They have a huge selection of all different types of produce - fruits and vegetables, many I've never tried before but will eventually. They also have an amazing deli counter with probably the best pricing around. With good pricing, their cold cuts turn over quickly so you know you are always getting something fresh. While they used to be the least expensive store for just about everything, we've also seen their prices climb over the years. But compared to the large grocers in the area like Jewel, they are much less expensive. Shopping at Valli can be fun - you'll see things you've never seen before. Lots of people shop there so also be prepared for lines at their checkout counters. But, it's all worth it.

They have a very large selection of foods. They also have a pharmacy (Osco) in the building. The bad: They are chronically understaffed. If you need help, you are pretty much on your own. Their prices are generally higher than other grocery stores. I don't know how to rate this but there is a Jewel app where you can order food for delivery. They also have "virtual coupons" you can "clip." the app is tied to your phone number so, if you enter it during the check out process, any coupons you clipped in the app are honors. They have some good buys contained in the app. I still go there if I need something quickly that I know they have in stock. They also do run good specials sometimes and I review their circulars when we get them in the mail. So, overall, they are a solid three stars.

You can probably find just about anything you need there. It kind of reminded me of Meijer but larger. The layout of the store is very confusing. Specialty items like gluten-free items can be mixed in with regular items, set off by themselves, or both. So, finding them wasn't that easy. From what we read of Woodman's before going, the did get good reviews on the amount and variety of gluten-free products. The same can be said for anything dairy-free. Their TV commercials talk about their great prices. I agree the items we saw on sale tended to be bargain, but the rest of the store seemed high. They are probably less expensive than Jewel, but more expensive than Valli Produce. We did get a lot while we were there and the total price was higher than we expected. So, overall, if you check their website for items on sale and you are near to a Woodman's, then by all means, the value is great. But if you don't live close to a Woodman's (like me), they aren't a great value but do have lots of specialty items.

They are inconsistent in their stock - often gaps appear where something is out of stock. They also don't make it easy to find items where there are special needs, such as finding gluten-free items. We asked someone who works there and they said they didn't know where it was - that it could be anywhere. Regardless, I am usually able to find most of what we need. We noticed 4 notable differences from the Morton Grove store which has served our needs pretty well given the Prime membership discounts that we realize. The most important one, and one the wife noticed, is that the prices here are more competitive than in Morton Grove. We surmised that was just due to the presumably stiffer grocery competition in Schaumburg. A second difference is the produce department has more offerings. A third difference is they have a Krispy Kreme stand here for what that's worth. Finally, a fourth difference is the temperature in here is actually reasonable and comfortable as opposed to the usually frigid conditions in Morton Grove lol. Overall, a pretty nice Amazon Fresh, and thumbs up.
