A little late ... but nevertheless , my review for their grand opening We got there around 7:30 PM, and since it was their grand opening, they were running a promotion for 50% off everything, which was very enticing. When we arrived and checked in, there were 21 tables ahead of us. It was estimated about an hour and 30 minute wait. We decided to wait. The time actually went by pretty quickly and only took an hour . Of course, with everything being 50% off, I felt like I wanted to order half the menu because it was such a great deal. When we finally got seated, the staff was very nice and got us settled quickly. Our server was really, really friendly as well. We started with the cheese crab puffs and edamame. They came out fairly quickly. The crab puffs were crunchy, and the filling was pretty decent. I did notice that some of the puffs around the edges were a little tougher than I prefer. I've had some crab puffs that are perfectly light and crispy all the way around, and while these weren't quite that, they were still good overall. For the edamame, I liked that you can choose either spicy garlic for an additional $1 or non-spicy garlic at no extra charge. We went with the non-spicy version because I don't really like spicy foods. It had a nice garlic flavor with salt sprinkled on top. The flavor was simple but good. The edamame itself was a little firmer than I prefer and could have been slightly softer, but overall the taste and texture were still enjoyable. What I really liked about the dumpling and bun section was that the menu mentions they are homemade. I also loved that they include pictures showing what the pan-fried, steamed, and soup dumplings look like. That's really helpful for people who aren't familiar with the different styles of dumplings. I also noticed that some dumplings can be ordered in different styles, so make sure to read the descriptions carefully. For example, I ordered the chicken and cabbage dumplings, which could be ordered either steamed or pan-fried. I chose the pan-fried version. The next thing I ordered was the Little Piggy red bean buns. Honestly, the little piggy design immediately caught my attention, so I knew I had to order them. Plus, I really enjoy bean-filled buns. The texture was one of my favorite parts. They were so soft, fluffy, and chewy. We also ordered the chicken fried rice. Considering how packed the restaurant was, I was impressed with how quickly everything came out. The food arrived fresh and steaming hot, and they still managed to keep things moving efficiently despite the crowd. When I first tried the chicken dumplings without any sauce, the flavor was very simple and not heavily seasoned. However, they served a garlic soy sauce on the side that paired perfectly with the dumplings. Once I started dipping them into the sauce, it completely boosted the flavor and brought everything together. The dumplings were still light and not overly heavy, which I liked. The Little Piggy buns were similar in that they weren't overly flavorful on their own, but that's pretty typical for that style of bun. I ended up dipping them into the same garlic soy sauce that came with the dumplings, and that combination was surprisingly good. It gave the buns the extra boost of flavor they needed, and I really enjoyed that pairing. My boyfriend ordered the chicken fried rice. The chicken portion looked like a standard serving size, about 4 ounces, sliced throughout the rice. The fried rice itself tasted pretty standard to me. Nothing really stood out, but it reminded me of Timmy Chan's fried rice. If you're familiar with that flavor, that's what it reminded me of. Then it was finally time for dessert. They had bingsu, and I had never tried it before, so I knew I had to order the mango bingsu. It came with fresh chopped mangos, mango popping pearls, and mango flavored jelly. I personally enjoyed it best with just the fresh mangos and a few of the popping pearls. The jelly and toppings helped sweeten everything up, but I liked keeping it simple, especially after such a big meal. It was light, refreshing, and comforting. I think I may have overdone it because my stomach was definitely bulging afterward, but isn't that usually a sign of a good meal? Haha. Overall, I had a great experience. Even though the restaurant was extremely busy because of the grand opening promotion, they seemed to be running things as smoothly as possible. They serve a huge variety of different dishes, but with that comes a lower quality in each individual dish. The three in my party ordered a ton, to try parts of the whole menu. We got the pork soup dumplings, thumb buns, mapo tofu, beef lo mein, stewed beef tendon noodle, shrimp fried rice, pork ears, and mango bingsu. The soup dumplings were okay, though they had a weird sour aftertaste that could be attributed to how the soup was made. The thumb buns, which had less soup, was much better and had a very nice and plump interior. I enjoyed the mapo tofu quite a bit, though it lacks the taste of mapo tofu and instead tastes like a different dish entirely. The lo mein noodles that were used were a little bit mushy for me, either being just the nature of the noodles or overcooked, but the beef tendon noodle, though not having beef tendon and rather just regular beef chunks, were much better. I surprisingly loved the pork ears, as well as the fried rice. Both packed so much flavor and would be the main reason on a return trip. The bingsu at the end was a little too sweet for me, but I would definitely order it again. Ambiance is nice, given that it is a new establishment, and has plenty of lighting, both natural and artificial, that I appreciate. The service is nice and quick, though our waitress was a little soft spoken and hard to hear at times. Overall, not a bad experience, I only hope that the menu continues to develop and grow so that my next venture here is even better. read more

Tried this food to go. The food is messy to order to go when you get the chili oil dishes. I ordered cucumbers, spicy won ton in chili oil, crystal shrimp dumplings, and little piggy red buns. The cucumbers had no flavor but were covered in chili oil. They were in the shape of spears. The spicy won ton were huge pieces and a little hard to eat and also didn't have any flavor just covered in chili oil and wasn't spicy. The crystal dumplings were the best item I ordered here. They were flavorful and had a good amount of shrimp in it and the sauce was a good combination of flavors. The piggy red buns were decent as well. We came on opening day and even though it was packed and busy and we waited over an hour to dine we had excellent service and amazing food. Our server Nhi was super friendly, gave great recommendations, and food was absolutely delicious and did not take long to come out at all. I'm still floored at how much I enjoyed that beef noodle soup. So much flavor. Noodles hand pulled, beef nice and juicy. The soup dumplings were divine. We also did have the spicy scheuzan chicken and that was really good too. Not super crispy, but again so flavorful and a nice light crisp which I didn't mind. Scallion pancakes were great as well. Great new addition to Webster! We came during the grand opening week and their entire menu was 20% off so we figured it was a must try. The restaurant is beautifully decorated. Waiter was very friendly and explained the menu thoroughly. Soup dumplings came out steaming hot and flavorful. Spicy wontons were a bit chewy and tough. Bbq baos were good as the buns were came out fluffy and moist. Angus beef noodles and the cucumbers were our favorites by far! My husband and I visited Meet Dumpling and Noodle for lunch. We're big dumpling lovers, so of course we had to try the soup dumplings. We also ordered the Stewed Angus Beef Noodle soup. The beef noodle soup came out first. The broth was savory, with chunky pieces of tender beef, bok choy, and handmade noodles. Their chili oil is excellent and makes everything even tastier. The soup dumplings were delicious and filled with meat, but they had little to no soup inside. The place is big and has a cool vibe. Our waiter was very nice and polite. I came here on their first day of opening! The interior design was beautiful and modern. It has a bar with two TVs, plenty of natural outdoor lighting and warm interior lighting. The host and waiter was kind and accommodating to my request for a quieter spot at the restaurant. I started off with the Pork Ear and Tofu appetizer. This did not disappoint at all. This is a Szechuan style and the spicy level was just right. They do not skimp on the pork ear and tofu ratio. It is mixed with garlic, green onion, chili oil, and cilantro. I couldn't help but try the shu mai here as well. This was also a big win for me. 6 pieces and they are nicely stuffed with pork, shrimp, and mushroom giving that umami flavor. This is the authentic dim sum style shu mai, not the frozen ones you find at the grocery stores or at Sushi Moshi/Ohayo! My main dish was the beef tendon noodle soup with wide noodles. Unfortunately, this did not live up to par for me. The tendons were tender and they do not skimp on the meat, but the flavor of the soup was lacking, and the wide noodles do not seem wide to me at all. I confirmed with the waiter this is the wide noodle as well. However, the noodles had the chewy texture and I could tell this was handmade as they stated! For dessert I requested tofu pudding, but they did not have it. I was excited to try but I will come back another day! read more

I just found out about this restaurant, so I came by Meet Dumpling and Noodle today for lunch. From the outside, it looked like it would be a cozy little cafe, but the inside is ridiculously fancy. The staff are very nice. Like their name says, their menu have a great selection of noodle bowls and dumplings. If you're not in the mood for either, they also have rice dishes, Chef specials, bao buns and red bean buns too. Meet Dumpling and Noodle have a vast selection of appetizers too. They offer very few sweets and there's no Kids' menu. There are no diet options either. For those who drink, (NOT me) yes, they have beer. For non alcoholics, they have loose tea, milk tea and yogurt tea. Prices vary, but they're not too bad. There's plenty of space inside, ideal for a large party. Our food was presented fast and steaming hot. I liked some of their appetizers, though I wouldn't recommend the beef skewers. My friend said the meat in her Angus Beef Noodle bowl was cooked and seasoned perfectly, but the broth lacked flavor. My Diced Pork and Eggplant Noodle Bowl had TOO much garlic! I had to scoop the "garlic pile" out of my bowl before I could eat. GROSS! The pork was also too salty. I'll come back to try different dishes, but Meet Dumpling and Noodle have very stiff competition in this area. There's other Asian restaurants literately across from them! Visited this restaurant on their official grand opening and was very impressed! Everything we tried was delicious, the dumplings were all flavorful and cooked perfectly, they did not skimp on the filling either. I also had the mapo tofu for my entree, I have been searching for a good mapo tofu in this area and so far every location has fallen short usually missing that signature sichuan spice or the flavor profile isn't right. I'm excited to say I have finally found a good mapo tofu! It was seasoned perfectly with a good amount of pork to tofu ratio and it finishes off with that signature numbing spice it was perfect! We stopped by Meet Dumpling with my kids to give it a try. My daughter and I enjoy Asian food, but my son usually does not, so we were curious to see how it would go. We were greeted right away and seated quickly, which I always appreciate when dining with kids. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive. She took our drink order right away and checked back in a few minutes later to take our food order. We ordered the lo mein and the bean dumplings. The dumplings had the cutest little piggie design, which my daughter loved. The food overall was really good, and the portion sizes were generous. For my son, I ordered the beef with rice and broccoli but asked for just the beef and rice since he prefers it plain. It initially came out with everything included, but the waitress was very kind about it and immediately took it back to fix it without any hesitation. That kind of service goes a long way. I love a new place to dine! I was super excited for Meet! The ambiance, atmosphere, and decor was amazing. We were greeted upon arrival and sat immediately. We were given paper menus, I had to ask about the menu since it was so extensive, but ok. We ordered two orders of pan fried dumplings. One was chicken and cabbage and the other was beef, onion, and cheese. They looked good, but didn't taste great. There wasn't any flavor and they were mushy. I also ordered the beef noodle soup which was labeled as a fave on the menu. I took two bites and didn't eat anymore. The broth was so salty. It tasted like straight beef broth out the can. The beef was so chewy and not flavorful. It tasted like chunks of roast beef. Being that I barely ate any more of the food the waitress never asked how the meal was or questioned it. Went in at 3:50pm today. There was no wait to be seated. Just walked out at 4:07pm because we never got greeted, never got to place a drink order, never got acknowledged. We were sat at table C3 and several wait staff walked past us multiple times. A man and his daughter were sat after us and were greeted and drink orders taken not two minutes afterwards. She greeted us with such a genuine smile and positive energy that it instantly set the tone for the night. Even though it was peak dinner time, she handled everything calmly and professionally, making sure guests were seated efficiently while still giving everyone personal attention. She checked in on us throughout the evening and made us feel valued rather than rushed -- which is rare during a busy dinner service. The food was absolutely amazing. The dumplings were fresh, flavorful, and perfectly cooked, and the soups were rich and comforting -- exactly what you hope for when you go somewhere with "dumpling and soup" in the name. Everything tasted homemade and thoughtfully prepared. Between the incredible food, the welcoming atmosphere, and especially the outstanding hospitality from the hostess, this place truly stands out. Meet Dumplings and Noodles is another welcome addition to the developing Clear Lake Asian food scene. It's very authentic dim sum and casual homestyle food. The food quality is excellent - virtually everything is handmade including the hand pulled noodles! You have to go to Chinatown to get Chinese food like this. Loved the Har Gow (shrimp dumplings), and the sautéed string beans were tasty. You can definitely taste the wonderful hot wok fired flavor. The soup dumplings were average for me. Beef tendon noodle soup was a winner, though some will say the soup is a little bland (I think most places make it too salty)! Finish it off with some Bingsu shaved ice dessert for a perfect casual dinner in Clear Lake's new Chinatown. Even my lychee green tea with boba was very well done (an afterthought in most restaurants). Only knock on MEET is the staff seem very green and inexperienced. It feels like a Chef-driven restaurant that needs a little more service direction. But my stomach is happy and forgiving. read more

I don't normally write reviews. I mean, come on, i'm 19 years old and a freshman in college, I have no interest downloading YELP and writing reviews about affordable restaurants. Yet, here I am, still on the toilet following my visit to 'MEET Dumpling & Noodle' on June 10th. The service was fantastic, our server (I forgot his name) was attentive and kind. The atmosphere was calm and the music was conversation friendly. And hey, even the food was good! I got the chicken and broccoli, and I subbed the fried rice for white rice, pretty good! You know what's not good? The liquid that consistently ran from my backside following the ingestion of my meal at 'MEET'. I mean, for a place called 'MEET', you would think more people would be there, but now I know why they don't go. It's probably because most people go there, have a good time, then suffer for days after like me! Now, while i'm not to upset about this outcome and don't mean to ward anyone off, I just thought it would be responsible to share my experience. Yes, right after eating my meal at 'MEET' my stomach problems began. And at 1:12am june 12th, you can call me NOAH LYLES the way i'm still running hard asf.
