So I came to try this one because I just tried the Katy one and couldn't stop thinking about it, so since I was in Chinatown, I thought why not. Well first off, the parking isn't that great. The parking spots are quite small and not as much if you want to park nearby without parking at the garage. Second, the wait time is quite long. Pudding and Q Mochi Milk Shaved ice's portion is huge and tasty but it can get overly sweet as you eat, so I recommend sharing it among a group of 4-5. Incredible. My first 1 star review out of over 150 reviews. Just horrible customer service. Never get take out. They will give you 1/3 the size of what you'd normally get with dine in. Honestly if this is the business model they are going for, just order dine in and ask for the largest take out cup and dump everything into it yourself. I had a bad experience here. I ordered a drink, shaved ice for dine in and one to go and I asked the lady up front if she could make the one to go when we were ready to go or if she could put it in the freezer for me and she said it was ok. When I picked up the order I told the worker that the girl said she could put the Togo order in the freezer until we finished our dine in order and he said no that everything was to go and we couldn't dine in because it was closing time. There were 15 minutes left until closing and lots of people who arrived after us dining in (see photo). Great place for traditional taiwanese shaved ice - highly recommend the grass jelly w the taro balls (signature ice grass jelly). There may sometimes be a line but it goes pretty fast. Tables are hard to find during busy times so you may have to take it to go but it still tastes just as good! Got the icy taro ball #3 as well. It was pretty good, I personally prefer the grass jelly one because it's not as sweet and the shaved ice has some of the juice from the herbal jelly and isn't just straight up sugary. Parking can be tricky near the store but there's a garage on the side that almost guarantees you a spot. Overall, I'm really glad we finally got this chain in Chinatown! read more

AHH! I never thought I'd run into a place that sells herbal jelly (aka chao kuay in Thai aka my most favorite dessert of all time!). Was so excited to try out this place after stumbling upon in on Bellaire Food Street and saw that it was packed and saw that the portion sizes were H U G E! Decided to try one of their specialties: herbal jelly with two different kinds of taro balls. The dish comes in a large container with shaved ice, huge chunks of jelly, and handfuls of taro balls and some cream to drizzle on top. I liked that the dish wasn't too sweet and when mixed all together you get the nice taste of the jelly; if I could just have a bowl of the ice, cream, and jelly I think I'd be a pretty happy camper. The taro balls to me were just meh. They didn't add to the dessert, nor did they take away from it (unless you decided to keep some as leftovers and forgot that taro balls overnight in the fridge would turn into hard, gritty taro balls -- yuck!). The taro balls were also pretty bland, they had a subtle flavor of taro and were not sweet, so I opted to just ate around the taro balls instead lol. This is a dessert meant to be shared based on the size. Priced at around $8, I would say it would be cheaper to go and make it yourself by getting a can of jelly and mixing the ice and cream at home. However, they are a large variety of dessert combinations that would make it worthwhile to come here and try it out, bring a group, and enjoy some company. Overall, I would stop by here again bc I'm too lazy to make herbal jelly dessert at home lol. read more

It turns out that I must've ordered the wrong things the first time, because this time, it was amazing.
