Abt installed the dishwasher and due to a vent under the peninsula could not push the dw back far enough so it would have to be secured from the top and they wisely would not drill into the quartz. We called Anna at Art Granite and asked for help and of course Art was ready to help us out. He got the job done and for a very reasonable honest charge. Some helpful hints based on our experience: 1. A big countertop dealer like MSI, located in Elk Grove Village, has a very large showroom where you can see the full countertop slabs. We had some preferences based on the web site pictures and the little quartz samples, but ended up selecting a different slab once we were in the showroom. You really want to see the full countertop slabs before your decision is finalized. 2. We were really disappointed with the Home Depot service, which is The Countertop Factory - Midwest. There was an extremely hard sell visit to our house and a take-it-or-leave it price. 3. Many quartz countertop installation services want you to select quartz they already have in stock. Davan let us shop around and we selected an MSI countetop, which MSI already had in stock. Our job therefore proceeded quickly from final slab selection to installation (less than two weeks). 4. I was unnecessarily nervous about our kitchen tile backsplash when our old formica countertops were replaced with new quartz countertops. We wanted to retain the old kitchen backsplash. That was not a problem and the installation occurred smoothly.

Jay took so much time with me and our very unique piece to make sure everything was just right. Anna, was responsive with scheduling and I was impressed at every step. The installers were prompt, clean and careful. I ended up with quartz as a replacement because I loved the piece that Jay helped me find. The way we carved out the piece used all of the beautiful veining in the quartz and we are so happy. I cannot recommend Davan enough. I will be back when we do our master bath!

But after many unanswered emails and phone calls to them, we became frustrated and decided to look for another company. I did a Yelp search and sent messages to 5 different businesses. Dejan was the first person to respond (7 minutes after I sent the initial message - talk about responsive!!!) I can confidently say that DK Stone's prices are the best in the market after comparing them amongst the other 4 competitors. The best part is that everyone else had told me that I would need to buy at least 2 slabs for the dimensions of our countertop. I asked Dejan how many slabs we would need and he said ONE SLAB for both island countertop and stovetop countertop!! He was able to calculate a configuration that would get everything done with minimal waste - this was huge in terms of cost. He had his guys come out to measure 5 days later and the counter tops were installed a couple of weeks after that. Everything was perfect, they were so efficient. Okay so now you have an idea of their work but what about service? Someone had accidentally taken our garbage disposal ring when they were cleaning up after the job so we couldn't get the disposal installed - we reached out to Dejan and he had someone drop it off. He could have easily ghosted us since the job was done but he was still just as responsive. We seriously cannot recommend DK Stone enough - we are so impressed and after being let down by so many other companies this was the breath of fresh air we needed.

I live in a 1 story coach house, a studio really, where space is at a premium. The high-end faucet…read moreon my island in the middle of the space looked cool but wasn't particularly functional. Worse, it rose 14 inches from the counter, directly in the sightline between my bed and the TV projection screen, which are at opposite ends of the space. I found a replacement faucet that, when not in use, telescopes down into the sink cabinet so I would no longer have to peer around the faucet to read the captions on the screen. But it required another hole for the mixer as the original was a one-hole faucet. The countertop is Dekton porcelain manufactured material, designed to survive a nuclear bomb, so I needed someone with the equipment to drill a new hole and not crack the countertop. Clearly a small job, I was worried no one would care about my TV viewing habits enough to offer to do it. Victor was super-fast to respond, was reasonably priced, called me the morning he said he would with a time window, then showed up on time. It took all of 5 minutes and for good measure, he helped me remove the old faucet that I had half-uninstalled but got stuck. He also cleaned up. I had procrastinated for 8 months - this faucet has been sitting boxed under my sofa since December, so it is embarrassing how easy this ended up being. Great crew and great team!

They had the tabletop ready in about a day, though I couldn't pick it up until later. They will continue to be my go to for anything stone related. Our designer complained to the principal Gary, and asked for a fix. Gary sounded like this is usual practice for them. Here is a copy paste of his email: "the blocking set in place to secure the sinks ( the size of sink / cabinet size did not allow space for the standard clips) This is all concealed to the underside of the countertops and we have done them in this fashion for the same reasons. They are not visible much like the underside of an "unfinished sink bowl" Is there something else that is preferred?? The blocking we use allows the sinks to be removed if ever needed and if we put the brackets on before setting tops the cabinets would have to be notched and the top removed completely to remove the sink. When you ask to "fix" do you prefer we use smaller blocking?"
