They provided a disposable gloves every time you get a food from the buffet carts which are all closed and you only open it when your getting your food. I ordered from Mehran TWICE last week! (Both orders delivered by DoorDash) and let me just tell you it was DELICIOUS! Both times I ordered the Chicken Biryani rice and the vegetable samosas! Wow! The chicken biryani had massive pieces of boneless chicken and was very flavorful and a huge portion; definitely enough to share between two people. The samosas were moist (not at all dry) and were in my opinion the best samosas I have had from anywhere around. I have read that they do a buffet. Super delicious and I look forward to coming back! We ordered three different entrees and not a single complaint.

We have frequented Mehran since they opened, and they have catered for many of our events such as santh, wedding, baby shower, and more recently for a prayer ceremony we held at home. Chris was easy to communicate with over the phone and via text message regarding any questions we had and recommendations. I think anywhere you order from, the prices have increased due to inflation, but Mehran's prices are still reasonable compared to other places and the amount of food you get for the money is worth it. We have never been disappointed with the food, which is why we continue to use Mehran. For our most recent event, we ended up ordering vegetarian half-trays (which each tray feeds 10-15 people): daal makhani, bhindi masala, malai kofta, and naan. It was more than enough for us and each entree was delicious. Our guests ended up taking some food home to have for lunch today! read more

They have good food but the one time I order from then close to closing, the food was old& spoiled. I know that because I got food poisoning and was having vomiting and you know what else the rest of the night. I haven't been back since and that was about three years ago. We had our daughters quince and we had an amazing time. We were able to enjoy ourselves. The staff were all amazing, friendly and so helpful. The food was so good I had seconds and I know a few people who also had seconds. Would definitely recommend this place for having any type of party. I have only had their fare with take-out service (three times in the last week). I am so excited to have found a good Indian/Pakistanian restaurant close to home. I've had the lamb tikka masala with plain naan for each visit (my check-ins said that the cravings dictated the order). I have to say that I have not ordered repeat dishes from an Indian restaurant within a week at any of my previous locations so this makes them an absolute hidden gem. The restaurant has been clean each time I have been in. The staff have been very pleasant and welcoming. Their buffet counter required gloves each time you go to serve and were kept very clean. Mehran catered my wedding over the weekend- they aren't limited to just dine in! Chris was easy to deal with and day of my wedding he sent two servers that were punctual and professional. The food was good- although not as good when you dine in, but that's understandable. Food mass produced for a buffet always lacks a little, plus we were running behind so the food had to sit for a while- not their fault. With that being said, we still had guests saying they never liked Indian food before, but loved this. The staff also bussed plates, poured water, and cut cake. Was really a huge relief to not have to worry at all about any of that. Highly recommend if you want to do something different for your event! We were looking for something new and decided to try Mehran Restaurant after seeing a post on Nextdoor. I texted the owner first to ask if they followed the recommended guidelines of wearing masks & gloves and was assured that everyone there did. I placed a large order for Mothers Day & we were very happy with everything! For only $7 plus tip, our food was delivered (before promised time, yay!) here to Brentwood (min. $25 order req.) by a respectful restaurant employee who wore both a mask & gloves. Everything was freshly made, packed really well & hot foods were *hot* while drinks & desserts were ice cold. The food, mmmm! Everything was fragrant, well-seasoned & delicious! I recommend that anyone that can't handle spice ask for "mild, please" as the food is deliciously "spicy" . What we ordered: chai tea - flavorful & warming mango lassi - rich, tangy & sweet: wish we'd ordered more, lol rasmaili - what I imagine a sweet fluffy cloud would taste like if it were covered in condensed milk gulab jamun - sweet, doughnut-y goodness in syrup (All sauced entrees came with more rich, velvety sauce proportionally to meat/cheese/vegetables for dipping) Naurathan Korma - spicy with veggies cooked until soft Palak Paneer - spinach was blended as opposed to creamed with firmly textured homemade cheese Lamb biryani - lamb was plentiful, tender & deeply seasoned while rice was fluffy, had a nice bite & yummy Butter chicken - my favorite entree was mildly spicy & so delicious (wish there'd been a little more chicken in the dish) Chicken tikka masala - chicken was firm, sauce was spicy: very tasty Tandoori chicken tikka - smoky, spicy full-flavored & that tanginess from the yogurt marinade so nicely compliments the well-cooked chicken & kept it from being dry aloo paratha (my favorite out of the bunch was also the softest), tandoori roti, cheese naan, papadum & plain naan were all good& filling, as expected . Five stars for: - Sweet gyals at the front always ready to assist, be it on the ol' jack o en persona. - Veggie pakora that is unreal in it's deliciousness and ethereal in it's cauliflower content. - Aloo Gobi and Palak Paneer that could rival a grandmother's tabletop staple. I mean, not everybody's grandma but most of yis. It's really that good. I've been to Mehran a few times recently and each time, there's usually only one or two customers seated at the many tables. I've heard that they're often closed while they host private parties because they do market themselves as a banquet hall in addition to the whole restaurant thing. That may explain the yooj empty space, which scared the crap out of me the first time I placed an order over the phone and went to pick it up. You know how it is when you walk into a restaurant you've never been to and the place is emptier than my plate five minutes into Thanksgiving. It's just unnerving. I ordered take out yesterday from Mehran and I simply do not regret it! My man and I were in the mood for something different than sushi and American food so we opt in for Mehran since it's across the street from our neighborhood. Pricing was decent and you get what you paid for! I ordered lamb vindaloo (tybg it had a mild option) along with chicken curry and Veggie biryani & orders of naan and samosas! All for 43$ and it lasted dinner and lunch for the next day. The curries were amazing. Not too spicy but just right. Also had equal ratios of curry/meats - someplace you get 70% curry and 30% of meat. I didn't think the biryani would be in a Togo box. It was a huge order, I still have some saved for later jeheh. The yogurt dressing it comes with tho is amaaaazing. I wish I had more. I ordered the cheese naan and regular naan and I didn't expect so much! It was like 4 regular sized naans cut into quarters. I wish they were fluffier. But they did it's job. The samosas were yummy! And they come with chutneys; a refreshing green chutney and a sweet chutney which is my fav. I should start by saying I have never left a bad review of anything in my life. But this was warranted. Terrible customer service. Placed an order for pickup for my birthday dinner. Wasn't ready when my husband went to pick up and they said I scheduled it for an hour later than I had. Showed them the confirmation time on their text AND the app - they said they'd put in the order and he'd have to wait 15 minutes. Annoying sure, but whatever, he waited, they brought out the food in a bag and when he got home we discover they didn't even give him my order. Gave him something else completely that I can't even eat because I'm allergic to it. Called to let them know so they could make the food again for whoever's order I got and asked for a refund because obviously I'm not going to poison myself for my birthday. They said they wouldn't unless I wanted to drive back to return it because they'd lose the money on the food. Which makes me think they were planning to give it to the other person which is gross. Top it off, It's a 50 minute trip, we only got it because it's close to where my husband was working. They were worried about losing the money for the one meal and now they've lost a customer permanently. There are better Indian food restaurants in concord for a few extra minutes of travel and I suggest you frequent them unless you want to get burned by this place. At the very least, NEVER use their app. Don't think they know how to use it on their end. read more

I have been coming here for many years always good food good service but the last two times I've been there within a month ,first I went for the lunch buffet looked to see what they were serving, and every item they had was empty and dry. They asked me if I wanted the Buffet I told them yes and that was the reason I went there and they said I had to wait 30 to 45 minutes for them to cook something I ended up walking out. Second time I went there an hour and a half before the Buffet was over. Most of the items they had was empty and they didn't want to cook no more for the Buffet line. so I ordered from the menu. The food wasn't as good as it used to be. needed more spices. and the chai tea that they always have was the worst I've ever had since I been going there. The chai tea was always great. We came here Saturday night and the place only had one other patron. We decided to try it anyway because the reviews were so positive. We were seated immediately and the service was good. We ordered the chicken tikka masala and the buttered chicken. We also ordered a side of rice, naan, and mango lassis. All were yummy. One side of rice was enough to feed two people. But the naan only came with 4 pieces, so I suggest ordering two orders. I recommend both dishes because they were delicious. I would return here in the future. read more

Very delicious Indian & Pakistani Food. The Lunch buffet is just over $10 and a huge selection. I had the goat curry which was so amazing. I had apprehension with goat but was very shocked how amazing it was. Similar to beef or lamb and very tender and flavorful. I also tried the fish curry and that was one of my favorites. The Tandori chicken was the best I had ever ever ever tasted in life. It was spicy and left your mouth with a lingering fire. Absolutely delicious food and lots of it. They do banquets, catering, delivery and dinners to go. They also own the Zaqui in Hercules. They have very good chefs and if you need something with less spice just tell them. Do try the carrot Gajar Halva. Its a delicious Carrot Pudding that tastes like bread pudding and carrot souffle combined with a Pumpkin Gooey after taste. So delicious. It was my favorite thing. I was really excited to try this restaurant after reading some great reviews. When I went to order I was prompted to download their app and order through there so I did. Scheduled the order for an hour away, husband went to go pick it up. When he got there they had no clue about the order, blamed it on the app not working but then suddenly had the ticket waiting. They asked him to wait for the food, so he did. When they brought the food out he left and realized part of the order was still missing and they came out with it. Got home, 5 minute drive, and the food was SO COLD. No exaggeration, the food felt like it had come out of a fridge. One of the items I ordered was "Tikka Masala Sauce" I don't eat meat and this is something I get at most Indian places. When I opened this container though, I noticed small bits of something floating in the sauce. When I did a little more inspection I realized it was super small pieces of chicken. So not to anyone who doesn't eat meat, the Tikka sauce is not vegetarian friendly. Unfortunately I won't be going back. read more

My wedding reception was hosted here this past September, and it turned out to be a really amazing encounter. The hosts were friendly and attentive and i really appreciate the flexibility for setup -I was allowed to come in early during the week and stay all day for setup with no hassle. Also I appreciate the owner working to accommodate my preferences and concerns. The groom was reluctant concerning meal menu but we had a tasting close to our event date (which I don't suggest lol) but it worked out well. We had an American menu of baked chicken, potatoes, rice, pasta and green salad. I was able to bring in my own bar menu and the host provided the server, meanwhile i supplied those liquids, but it was pretty perfect consider everything. They even provided onsite security. Ultimately I was able to bring in my own DJ, champagne fountain, and additional appetizers at no cost. Everything was straightforward. My only fault was that there was a bit of lack in communication as we got closer but the owner apologized and again everything worked out well. The total cost was mid $$$$ but again everything is flexible according to your preference. So that's a plus for me. Anywho, my event was beautiful, and a success and I appreciate the owner, Chris and his staff for being so hospitable. read more

This review is solely based on the restaurant staff's behavior, I did not even get to try their food first to give them a review for the food. I ordered takeout from Mehran using their chosen delivery partner GURHUB. I waited for food to arrive for 1.5 hrs and nothing happened. After 1.5 hrs I get a call from Mehran staff about my order. The lady on the phone rudely informed me that restaurant is closing in 5 min and that "my delivery person" is not there and I need to call grubhub and figure it out. Also proceeded to tell me that I shouldn't be using Grubhub next time if I want food from there and to use another vendor. This was highly unprofessional. I used THEIR PREFERRED CHOSEN DELIVERY PARNER NOT MY PERSONAL PICK UP SERVICE. If your delivery partners aren't providing you satisfactory service then terminate them or speak to them about your issues. Rudely calling and coming down on a new customer about food not being picked up by your delivery partner is the last thing you should have been doing. read more

The fresh Tandoori Bread and Tandoori Chicken were the highlights of the meal. Everything was piping hot and fresh and nothing tasted old. The Chicken Tikka Marsala and Goat Curry was pretty amazing as well paired with the Basmati Rice. I was inspired to check this place out after my fellow Yelper, Heather O., wrote such a glowing review about their lunch buffet. Mehran is located in "Railroad Square", a small strip mall in downtown Pittsburg. There is a private parking lot and spaces are plentiful. The little Miss and I sat down and were almost immediately greeted by the hostess/server. She asked if she could bring us anything to drink and then invited us up to the buffet. Before we could return from the buffet she had already delivered water and fresh, hot naan bread. All the usual suspects were at the buffet including tandori chicken, butter chicken, three varieties of rice, spinach saag, salad with yogurt sauce, vegetable pakora, and a very spicy eggplant dish. I LOVED the eggplant ... definitely a must try if you like spicy!! In addition to all that, they also had goat, lamb, and fish dishes. What I really enjoyed about this buffet is the variety. There is really something for everyone to try. I look forward to bringing my sister here next time she is visiting and looking for an Indian buffet!! read more
