I will make this simple, there is not a better Chinese food restaurant/ takeout than this in Tucson. Fried rice is great (chicken is the best), lo-mein is delicious (beef is the best). Not great, not bad. I've had the lo mein and the fried rice. The chicken and beef are really gross and taste like rubber, and the pork has a lot of chunks of fat, so I suggest getting it without meat. They really need to use better quality meat, this is way below standard for Chinese food. But the noodles and the fried rice were pretty good. read more

I must say, it used to be better when the old owners were there. Ever since these new owners took over the food has been getting worse, not only that but the amount of food is getting smaller and smaller now they have smaller boxes for when you order to go. Well... We didn't get sick from it- so it gets two stars. But anyone complimenting the food highly has never had good chinese, or even Panda Express. Soggy outside, jerky inside general tso chicken and slimy eggrolls, Sauces that have color but not much else to them and veg that are good but not actually cooked through. Visiting Tucson and wanted some Chinese food. I had my doubts about this place. I go there and it's not exactly a fancy place. But hey Chinatown ain't exactly fancy either. A Chinese lady greeted me and she seemed surprised to see a chinese customer :-) Another lady took my order and she was also nice. I ordered Beef with Broccoli and it came out fast. Good food - great prices - huge portions!! Our group of 4 ordered Kung-Pow chicken, Moo Goo Gai Pan, & Cashew chicken / all served with wonderful BBQ pork fried rice, egg rolls, & won tons. All of the food was made fresh and served hot - a little slow on getting the food, but worth the short wait. The location is not great - kind of in an industrial area, but the restaurant and the area felt safe enough and was well lit. The restaurant itself is "nice" enough (another review referenced a hole-in-the-wall, which is accurate, but, "never" what would be considered "fine" dining. Overall, we had a great meal at a very family friendly budget price. Dinner for 4 with leftovers for 2 more was $55 with tax & tip - we could have easily fed 4 adults for about $30 - and they offer their menu to-go. Recommended - good food. read more

A hole in the wall I wanted to love but couldn't. It reminded me of a small restaurant in a Chinatown, and the meal was generous sized and the sauce was awesome. The kung pao chicken only had three pieces of small white chicken bites and the rest was filler with bamboo shoots, peanuts, and chestnuts. So disappointing. I felt like I wasted $5. A friend and I went in to the restaurant just after closing, and the staff was still generous to let us in and order take out. As we sat there waiting for our food we drank a couple of Bud Lights and they were ICE COLD. It took about 15 minutes for our food to be ready, because we ordered an ish load. I got the General Tso chicken and it was the best ever! Crab cakes were amazing and the beef lo mein was even delicious after 2 days of sitting in the fridge. Know the owners since I went to school with their eldest son, and worked with the family for a bit over a year...super nice people and the food is awesome. Don't know much about the Irvington location, I went to the eastside location on Harrison and Golf Links, they've temporarily closed down but I heard that they plan to re-open soon. I've ordered to-go before and to keep it from getting soggy I opened the bags and boxes that had fried food in it. Also, I asked for it extra crispy as well to help with that (both dine-in and take-out). Chinese food was never a favorite of mine, but this place defnintely changed my mind. The best in town I think, and from what I heard from lots of other customers, their favorite spot as well, some customers even said they drove from Marana once a week to eat there. I'm new to Tucson and was looking for a Chinese cuisine "not Panda Express'. This place was recommended by a couple of locals. We ordered, hot and spicy chicken wigs. The wigs were salty and dry, there were plenty of green peppers and garlic. if you like salty wigs, This is a perfect disk. KungPao Chicken has too much of water chestnut, and not enough chicken, I think they might have replace water chestnut for chicken. This dish has more sweet flavor. Their "Crispy Chow Mei" is unusual. Instead of using egg noodles (yellow), they use fried flour chips. It's weird. But it was tasty. Mongolian beef was pretty tasty. We all enjoyed it. If you are in the mood for soup, their Sizzling Rice soup was delicious. Overall, I wouldn't recommend for out of town friends. read more

Well I use to love this place, before this happened. I loved going here because the food is good, it's super cheap, and you get it quickly. I've gone about 4 times before the cons started showing. Our food started coming in warm and got cold way too quickly. Yes we got our food fast, which makes me question if they make it fresh or if they just reheat it. But none of these problems come close to what came up on our last visit. We got our food and it was cold. We got our straws WITHOUT the paper that usually covers them, I saw this and thought it was strange. I looked around and noticed that by the register they have a pitcher (filled with I guess some cleaning liquid) where they had hundreds of the straws without the paper covers. We ate and paid. This was the only time my mom had to pay with her credit card so she didn't leave a tip (she usually doesn't leave a tip when she pays with her card). As we were leaving one of the older ladies (I'm guessing she was a manager or owner) runs after us asking why we didn't leave a tip. After we told her why we didn't and how this was the only time we didn't leave a tip she started yelling at us demanding we left a tip. We told her we were sorry and that next time we would leave one. She wasn't happy with what we said and started yelling at us in Chinese and walked away. read more

If you find yourself lost in the ghetto or you just live in south Tucson you might come across this privately owned Chinese place. Their claim to fame is they sell/sold Asian beer that was the same name as the restaurant. Basically it's a small place. Not very well decorated and you can even see into the kitchen area from the dining area. I planned to take out so I don't know if they have free drink free refills or anything about the service but I can say that the food was ok. I order the General Tso chicken and it wasn't that crispy and neither was the egg rolls, but again take out can some time gets soggy. While I waited I did look at the menu and what other people got and it seemed like an ok place to eat. But since egg rolls are my main attraction for most Chinese places I declined a repeat visit. This place was average at best with a good menu but I doubt I would ever take someone there to eat. read more
