I've been going to Meijer, mostly this location, for many years. When I remember to log into Meijer Perks and complete a shopping list in order to get points it is a real plus. I shop there mostly for groceries and some pharmaceutical items, but have also found some good choices of flowers, office and computer supplies, shoes, clothes and jewelry. I particular like their variety and quality of produce, plus their meat and seafood choices. Their prices are competitive. Their check-out process is pretty efficient. I just came back from grocery shopping at Meijer in Bloomingdale, when I arrived there were only 3 cashiers and customers were lined up 20 deep. After I finished shopping at 10:20 there were 5 cashiers and the lines were just as long, it took 40 minutes to get through the line and pay. This is typical for this store, never enough staff on hand, but you would think that during the last few days before Christmas they would have been more prepared. read more

I really like Meijers but there is an old lady with red hair working, possibly managing, the deli counter at this Bloomingdale location, who is completely brutal and seems to apparently hate people in general, along with her own existence. It's pretty hilarious.. she wastes time like no other (it can easily take :15-20 mins for a half pound of anything), she huffs and puffs at the simplest requests, rolls her eyes like she has some inner eye disfunction, and I'm fairly certain pisses anyone off who has the misfortune of crossing her path. The best grocery store in the area. It's the only 24 hour store of it's kind that isn't Walmart (a good thing). I have spent many a time strolling the aisles at 2 am. High school, good times. The only drawbacks are that they have a limited organic/foodie section. No grass-fed meats, no natural meats, no raw honey, and no buckwheat flour. Maybe meijer is too non-gimmicky for my tastes. Maybe I'm too used to Whole Foods or Schnucks (Urbana). It's good for most stuff, but I definitely got spoiled on others. read more

This place is huge as one of the superstores it has everything! From food to clothes, video games, etc., I went for a sale on the athletic shoes (buy one get one for a $1) and was amazed how organized and clean this place was. I used to be a late night/early morning shopper, and this is one of the few places that is convenient around those hours. I would not say that the produce is more economical; it costs more than going to Caputo's or Butera. For the extreme lazy part of the population, they sell tomatoes and onions diced and ready to go. God bless American convenience! The store is very clean, and the aisles are nice and wide. The overnight stockers are nice and offer help when I am nearby. I give this store 4 stars because there is one worker (and to be honest, I'm not sure if she still works there) who never says hello, doesn't smile, and she yelled by the carts, "CUSTOMER SERVICE CLOSED HOURS AGO" when I was only lingering by the customer service desk to read a sign. Also the one time I decided to ring up at the one register with a cashier manning it, she was rifling through a return cart, saw me, threw whatever was in her hands back into the cart, and groaned. Since my move from MI, I was sadden at the fact that I would not be able to shop at Meijer anymore. I was introduced to Jewel and Dominick's and I was highly disappointed in the high prices and low variety. I came across the Meijer after I was told that we did have one down here but consisted in making an extra trip. This place brought back some good memories as to why I love to shop at Meijer for many of my daily needs. They carry your groceries, clothes, home appliances, home accessories, and all at such a LOW PRICE! I have had the same experience at ALL Meijers that I have attended an felt that they do a really good job in there service to their consumers. read more

I ventured here over the weekend for the soda sale ($5 a case). I wasn't prepared for the HUGE size of this store. It felt like a Costco except that there were people around to help you. I found the store kind of tricky to navigate. Don't get me wrong, they have big signs hanging up to help out, but damn if I couldn't find where the school supplies were. Pricewise, I did find some deals while other things were pretty much the same as other stores. Fage Greek Yogurt is $1.69 everywhere I have checked! Checkout wasn't exactly speedy, but it was a Sunday, so I'm factoring that into my review. This isn't exactly close to where I live, but if they have a good sale, I'll be making the drive. read more

Love Meijer in Bloomingdale, it is fabulous! My husband never ever goes with me to grocery shop ( I always go alone) but when I say I'm going to Meijer I get the wait I will go with you which says a whole lot. He loves this store too. Love that they are open 24/7 and sell everything from A to Z with clothes, bath , bedding,electronics etc. Every department is good quality and their prices are phenomenal. There grocery section is one of the best. My favorite is there produce. They have regular produce and organic and none of it is ever overpriced. And the fresh fruit & vegetables last for days. Some stores you buy produce and it goes bad the very next day. Meijer's produce lasts and tests fresh and is very good. Their Deli is good too. The only thing I don't care for is their bakery. I buy my bakery items elsewhere.Overall this is one of the best stores! read more

Being from Michigan, I love shopping at Meijer. They have an amazing selection, and you can save a lot with Mperks. I will admit that Mperks are not as good as they used to be, and I have been finding more and more that I end up finding deals on more of what I need at target and sometimes end up going there, which is unfortunate. Oh my God! I love it here... it's like Walmart but happier and less crazy people. They have everything the prices are very competitive and their Mperks rewards system is great! NO JOKE every time I go to this Meijers they are out of stock on many of the items I go into buy. Basic things milk, eggs, sugar etc. It's absolutely absurd. They obviously don't have enough people working as you can never find anyone to help you. Open 24 hours a day you would think things would be stocked regularly every night. I don't even want to go shopping here anymore due to fear of them not having my list of things I need and wasting my time. They are going to loose customers once Woodmans opens. Completely done with this store. Have frequented the Bloomingdale location on and off since it opened. The on and off part is strictly based on the customer service experience I have received. I've only continued because it is a convenient stop on my way home. Honestly, I do not believe the employees nor management have any customer service focus. Every time I visit this store, be it early morning, mid-day , weekends, weeknights, their shelves, especially for sale items are often empty. I have walked aisles several time looking for assistance only to just leave frustrated without the items I purposely came to purchase. They will give you a "rain check" for the items on request, but the whole point in visiting is to visit once, not twice when I need something. The deli experience is horrific. I have waited through 6 up to 10 customers every time I visit. Friends of mine have expressed the same displeasure. The service is horribly slow and the wait lengthy. The clerks spend much time talking amongst themselves. Today the issue was about pricing on a large yellow sign on a palette of cereal which, between the time I picked up the box and when I reached the self checkout line, the palette had been relocated. Relocated I assume by the missing stock person(s) I find myself looking for every time I visit and shelves are empty. Needless to say, the incorrect pricing led to "the straw that broke the camel's back." I will not visit again. Thank you Meijer for making it so effortless to shift my business to Mariano's in Wheaton. Best customer service experience ever!!!! Mariano's knocks themselves out to provide the best customer service experience possible, complimented by fair pricing. I absolutely love love love meijer!! The clothes are always cute and the clearance racks are amazing, prices are reasonable, and the staff is always willing to go above and beyond for you! I fell in love with these curtains, but of course they didn't have enough of them for my room I was hoping to decorate. I was only missing one panel to complete the room. After asking a man by the name of George to check into ordering me one more curtain panel, he came back to tell me they were unfortunately out of stock and wont be getting more in bc they were being discontinued. However, surrounding stores had a few still in stock. George drove to pick one up for me from another meijer location!!!!! The stores don't do transfers between stores, which is silly. So George didn't have to go get that curtain from me, he did it out of the kindness of his heart. He made me so happy I even gave him a hug lol. Truly went above and beyond for me, I'm extremely grateful. Ill forever be a Meijer shopper! Their customer service really is amazing. And my MPERKS, don't even get me started!! The only redeeming quality of this place is the pharmacy. I had never encountered a group of rude, lifeless employees in my life. I was struggling at the self check out as I had several items that for some reason were not scanning and 3 employees just STARED at me. Not one asked if I could use some help. They just stared. I left an item on the belt because I was so flustered and she didn't even tell me. Her only job is to watch us, and she was such an idiot that she couldn't even do that. I had to come all the way back in and explain to her what happened. Her response, "oh." Oh?? Will only be returning for the pharmacy. Worst customer service I've experienced in a large store in a while. Lacking several items, spills that were not cleaned up in several aisles, messy products and spoiled produce. read more

The place is not very honest. I go there all the time. 50% chances I got charged a wrong price, usually on those sale items. After it happened so many time, I just don't feel it's because of negligence. The store management very likely does not want you to read receipts. And if you do, they hope you wouldn't want to wait in line to get refund at the customers service for a lot of times it's just 50 cents or a buck. read more

I could write paragraphs about how awesome Meijer is, but I'll stick to some of the big ones. Prices are way better than Jewel and Dominick's. The staff are always helpful and polite. The clientele are calm and considerate. The selection is better than other big box stores. The products are consistently higher quality than their grocery or big-box store rivals, whether it's home goods, groceries, or fresh produce. Meijer's brand items are better than name brand. Their picture frame section is actually better than most art/craft stores for smaller sizes. The baby section is great (their brand of hypoallergenic diapers are a lifesaver for my family); I've gotten some nice gadgets for baby bathing as well as toys and of course, baby food. The photo department is pretty reliable. The pharmacy is quicker than any others in the area and they're good about telling you if they're out of stock on something right away so you can take the scrip elsewhere. I cannot tell you how much time and money I have saved shopping at Meijer compared to other stores. This store is so good, that when we move, we're going to make sure we remain close to the Bloomingdale Meijer. read more

Service is terrible. Last time I was there over a month ago as I was checking out the cashier asked if i found every thing i needed. I always say yes even though its not always true. Well this time and it was getting more often they were out of 4 things I came in for. I told her no and said I was tired of leaving this store and going to Jewel to get what they didn't have. Good prices on produce. Fresh fruit cut-up & ready to serve. It's a go-to grocery destination for me. Super Target's prices are surprisingly lower as Ive noticed my grocery bill being less when shopping there but overall no real complaints & it's a ton less than Dominick's which is right across the way & rarely every crowded though Meijers is manageable considering its 24hrs. Meijers cheese selection & "ethnic" food aisle offers up options never tried before so that's a perk. read more

I don't know what I would do if Meijer wasn't a 5 minute drive from my house. What I love most about this store is that it's open 24 hours! I've been to Meijer at 6 in the morning as well as 2 in the morning as well. The employees might not always want to be working at those late times but they don't show it at all, they are always so helpful and keep the store super clean. This place sells everything from fresh produce, baked goods, and drinks to car parts, school supplies, and gardening supplies. I love walking into Meijer at random times of the day and spending time in the store. You can always find what you need and something you don't need at all but will purchase anyways. There is also a pharmacy, I wish it was open longer hours though. There are Catalina coupons that print out at the registers once in a while where you can get free gas (up to a certain dollar amount) or free groceries (again up to a certain dollar amount) every time you fill a new prescription. Hello free! I load up on a lot of junk food, which isn't the best idea when thinking about health but hey it's free so why spend your hard earned money on ice cream when you can get it for free. I like this store. The manager is pretty cool too. I haven't seen him for a while but he liked to roam the aisles talking to customers. One thing I have to ding them on isn't really their fault but they haven't gotten it fixed yet. The pepsi guy doesn't deliver on weekends. The coca-cola guy delivers. This means that several of the pepsi products are out late Friday for the entire weekend. If pepsi happens to be on sale, anyone wanting to buy those soda's is just SOL. I'm talking Dt. Mtw, Diet Sierra Mist, etc. Also, I'm a little less than thrilled with their open meat coolers. They seem a tad warmer than other stores meat coolers, especially the endcap ones. But still far far better prices than the Dominicks across the street. read more

Decently competitive prices and selection when they manage to have sale items in stock on the shelves. I can't begin to count how many times I've gone here since the store opened only to find they are out of sales items. Back in the day Meijer used to take pride in offering rainchecks for out of stock items, as most legitimate and reputable stores do. Now on a lot of sale items you have to read the fine print on the tag "No Rainchecks" I wish somebody would educate them on logistics, inventory, and stocking practices. read more
