    Pretty Little Liar

We enjoyed a delicious dinner at Mekong. The ambience is very green and lush when you walk in with lots of plants and cool decor. We loved the Scallop Crudo and the Nahum Dotk Crispy Seabass. Both dishes had many complex and interesting fresh flavors, and were plated beautifully. I had the Pretty Little Liar mocktail, which was yummy and not too sweet. Our server was kind and patient, especially given that some people in our party had many comments and questions due to food allergies/intolerances. We appreciated that she double-checked everything with the chef to make sure that the food would be safe and there would be no cross-contamination.

Beautiful restaurant with an interesting take on Thai food The handmade roti with curry dipping sauce was a great starter to my meal. The Tom kha mussels and coconut soup was delicious and so creamy - definitely a unique dish that is a must-try on this menu! The chicken curry had a real spice kick to it. Rice is not included and had to be ordered as a side. We were seated at the bar. Our waiter and maybe what I think is the manager were so friendly to us, striking up conversations and getting to know us in the brief time we had to enjoy our meal. Overall I'd say I had a great experience here as a visiting tourist from out of the country!

The ambience and space are beautiful. The staff and service were perfectly attentive and friendly. I ate here twice in the week I was visiting. The food is beautifully presented and overall were for the most part all very good to excellent. I like the chef's slightly healthier tasting Thai food without the loss of the tartness and spice that make Thai food so savory. This is a wonderful place to go for a fancy Thai meal with others.

However, a reputable source who lives in Whistler said they had eaten several meals there that were not that great. I decided to chance it and order takeout. I got the Thai laksa curry noodles, made vegan by just removing the chicken. I clarified to make sure there was no egg in the noodles. I got 2 out of 5 star spicy. I also ordered the mango sticky rice for dessert, which is vegan by default. Had to call to place the order, and the first time I called it went to voicemail so I waited a few minutes and called back. Food was ready in 15 minutes, and it was still hot and honestly quite tasty. The laksa was well flavored and spiced, it wasn't bland but I'd probably get 3 stars next time. It's simple, noodles, sauce, onions, and the tofu. Tofu was cooked well, but it was a lot of noodles and the noodles didn't really hold the sauce well so sometimes a mouthful of noodles didn't have a ton of sauce/flavors. Mango sticky rice was very tasty. I would definitely get it again. I might get the laksa again, but I'd like to try more things and see how they are.

It is highly rated and I can see why! Each of the dishes had very authentic flavours and larger in portion. My favourites is the Pad Thai and the Beef Massaman Curry. The Pad Thai may be the best one I have yet! Pork Belly Pad Gra Pow would probably has been better with the traditional ground pork as we felt the pork belly was in the drier side, but it had really great flavour and fantastic with lots of rice! Space is quite limited in the restaurant so I would recommend booking early as this restaurant will get more and more popular.

It is in some sort of camp site where if you need a hot shower you can take one before or after dinner. On to the food, the food tasted great and had all the authentic Thai flavors. The chicken wings were surprisingly tasty and had to order another batch. Inside there are only a few tables so if you plan to eat there, highly recommend making reservations. Otherwise it seems like Togo orders is the way to go. The staff were very friendly and would highly recommend. Will certainly be back the next time we are in whistler.

They were out of a few things - no more oatmeal and only one serving of matcha left when we all wanted matcha, but the alternatives that we went with were still appealing, so it wasn't a big deal. The one matcha went to my mom, and it seemed like she got the scraps of it because it looked and tasted pretty watery. I got a chai latte which was pretty good but a little grainy. The food on the other hand was really good. I got the buckwheat pancakes and tried some of the smoothie bowl. The pancakes were hearty and fluffy, topped with a delicious berry chia jam and cashew cream. The plate came with 3 small-ish pancakes which was a satisfying portion that wasn't too much. We were also asked if we wanted maple syrup with the pancakes, but I ended up not needing to add any because the jam and cream were enough. Maple syrup is $2 for a small cup so I would recommend skipping it unless you really want something sweeter. The jam and cream are just modestly sweet which was perfect for me. The blueberry smoothie bowl was also delicious and came with lots of toppings - their granola had a delightful texture. It was a bit of a wait for food, so ordering the breakfast plates is probably not the best option if you're in a hurry, but they have ready-to-eat stuff available if you do want something quick, and the drinks didn't take long. I would be interested in coming back to try more of the food menu if I were in Whistler again.

It was not tofu, but some sort of salty meat substitute that did not taste anything like tofu. The only other ingredients in the salad rolls are shredded iceberg lettuce and vermicelli noodles. For $13.50, I would expect the rolls to contain some sort of herbs (basil and/or cilantro) and be overall higher quality. The shrimp was also unseasoned and overall the rolls were flavorless. Maybe the other food here is better, but the spring rolls are not worth getting.
