Thai gone high end--in the best possible way! We've visited a few times and have always had excellent, friendly service and never a bad dish. On our most recent visit, our daughter, who has Celiac disease, joined us along with our granddaughter. The staff was extremely accommodating to both and took particular care to assure our daughter that there would be no cross-contamination with the gluten-free options they could prepare for her. We really appreciated the attention they gave to making sure she could dine safely. And then there's the food. I don't even normally like Pad Thai, but theirs will be on my must-order list when we return. So many versions I've tried are overly sweet and almost ketchup-like. This was completely different--perfectly balanced, flavorful and not a hint of that ketchup taste. The chicken satay was perfectly cooked and tender, and I especially liked that the peanut sauce had a lighter, thinner consistency rather than tasting like straight peanut butter. We also had the Pad Pak vegetables. I don't particularly like vegetables but know I have to eat them--and whatever they do to these actually makes me want to eat them! They were delicious. The green curry sablefish was my husband's favorite and another standout. We really can't say enough good things about this place. Excellent food, thoughtful service and a more elevated take on Thai cuisine. An easy 5 stars for us, and we'll definitely be back - as will our daughter the next time she visits! read more

You know I must say I was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed my meal at Mekong. Firstly, they were super accommodating with us adding to our reservation at the last minute. Asian food in Whistler isn't always the best, but Mekong did a great job serving authentic and elevated Thai food. I later learned that Mekong is of the same family of Vancouver's Maenam and Sainam - explains the top notch quality. However, outside of the shoulder season Prix fixe menus, the pricing is on the higher side of things. No surprises for Whistler. I don't know if I'd come back if not for the special menu. Cocktails were decent but were definitely weaker. Mochi donut for dessert was the only negative note, and the only thing we didn't finish on the menu. read more

Contemporary Southeast Asian restaurant in the Creekside Village. Busy on a Friday night even though the rest of the village is quiet. Cool space with white paint and plant decorations. Menu is pretty small, and have a selection of appetizers, sides (starch) and mains. For appetizers we tried scallops, fried chicken wings, and roti. All three were pretty good. The raw scallops had a nice seasoning. The roti serving is small and pre-ripped for you, but had the flakey slightly burnt skin and buttery softness on the inside, and the curry dipping sauce was very good. The chicken wings had a pretty unique zesty and slightly sour seasoning, and had a nice crispy skin. For mains, I got the cumin lamb ribs which were delicious. Heavily seasoned with cumin and spices, and the ribs were tender and easy to chew. Would go well with some rice. Only item I didn't like from the table was the pad thai (vegetarian with tofu) which was way too sweet. Tasted like it was honey glazed and had the sweet aftertaste which was weird. Prices are not cheap of course given it's a resort village. 4 of us ate $300 worth of food. read more

We enjoyed a delicious dinner at Mekong. The ambience is very green and lush when you walk in with lots of plants and cool decor. We loved the Scallop Crudo and the Nahum Dotk Crispy Seabass. Both dishes had many complex and interesting fresh flavors, and were plated beautifully. I had the Pretty Little Liar mocktail, which was yummy and not too sweet. Our server was kind and patient, especially given that some people in our party had many comments and questions due to food allergies/intolerances. Beautiful restaurant with an interesting take on Thai food The handmade roti with curry dipping sauce was a great starter to my meal. The Tom kha mussels and coconut soup was delicious and so creamy - definitely a unique dish that is a must-try on this menu! The chicken curry had a real spice kick to it. Rice is not included and had to be ordered as a side. We were seated at the bar. Our waiter and maybe what I think is the manager were so friendly to us, striking up conversations and getting to know us in the brief time we had to enjoy our meal. We went to this amazing restaurant on January 27, 2026. We were staying at the village and decided to head down to creekside to try it out. We left a little early for our 7pm reservation thinking we would shop a bit before dinner. We did not realize the shops closed early there, so we headed to Mekong ahead of our reservation time. Thankfully the host could seat us early and gave us a great table. We were tucked in out of the way. The lighting was perfect and the mood was set! The cocktail menu was fun. We tried a few of them. The hoodwinked was our favorite. I switched to a lovely Chardonnay for my meal. Now, this is where it really became amazing! We opted for the chef's dinner. I believe that if a restaurant offers this option, you should fully take advantage of it. I want to know what the chef feels is spectacular! Dinner is more of a journey and an adventure! This amazing chef did not disappoint! I will admit, in the beginning the offerings were delicious, but quite small. More of a delightful taste that made you want more. My husband and son are big guys (well over six feet tall and full of muscle!) with appetites to match, so I began to worry. I should not have worried!!! The dishes kept coming, I lost count of how many things our wonderful waitress brought out to us. She would describe each dish. She and other staff members kept our water and drink orders refreshed and made certain that as the dishes were finished, the dishes were cleared and our table was orderly. This was no small task considering how many things we had the pleasure of trying! We had such an amazing variety, there was chicken, duck, scallops, shrimp, sea bass and lamb, extremely fresh herbs and vegetables. The broth of the soup was layered in so many flavors! Thank goodness the chef knew exactly what he was doing because the portions were spot on, perfect to truly enjoy every course! There was even an amazing dessert at the end. We left completely satisfied and content. The meal was perfection. It was just the best! Don't hesitate to go for it! It was worth it! I should have taken pictures of each course, they were all beautifully presented, but to be honest, I just lost myself in the moment and will have to rely on my memory! Very pretentious and I have no idea why? We went to Mekong on our annual trip to Whistler as we wanted to try somewhere new. There are some great restaurants, but this is not one of them. From the moment we walked in and had 5 pairs of eyes looking at us, all of whom worked there we knew that something seemed off. Somehow we ended up with three waiters, one lady was lovely and friendly the other two gave the impression that everything was too much trouble and didn't crack a smile once. The menu was some kind of Thai fusion or experimental Thai if that's the right label. It wasn't bad food, but it would have been a lot better to just stick with normal Thai dishes on our opinion. This could be a great spot. Sort out the service, hire friendlier staff and stick to a typical Thai menu and this would be amazing. read more

Extremely Disappointing Service I can't comment on the food because we never got a chance to eat. I called 1 day in advance to make a reservation for 5 PM. The hostess said they didn't have any reservations available but assured me it was fine to come in, and she would "make it work." On the day of, we called again to let them know we were running about 10 minutes late due to traffic. The hostess reassured us again that it was okay to come in and she would "move things around." After driving 30 minutes to get there, we arrived only to be told they couldn't arrange a table for us. They then claimed that unless they call and confirm, reservations aren't valid. Why tell us twice to come in if they had no intention of accommodating us? This was a complete waste of time, and the lack of communication and professionalism was unacceptable. I wouldn't recommend this place based on the service alone. read more

This is a really beautiful restaurant we found on our way into Whistler on our way to our hotel. They were busy for a Monday night so walking in, we could only get two seats at the bar. The entire staff, especially the bartender, were professional, helpful, and kind. We ordered the dinner for two and added the wings as an extra item. Get the wings; it's probably their best item that we had. Perfectly seasoned and fried, the skin was crispy but the meat remained moist. Really different in a good way from any wing we've had before. We picked the chicken skewer as our "dinner for two" appetizer. Again, different but in a good way. We're so used to yellow colored breast meat skewers where we live. Here they used thigh meat and it was prepared really well--cooked through but moist compared to skewers we've had in other restaurants. And two delicious dipping sauces as accompaniments. Nicely done! The crab pad Thai and chicken curry were good but nothing we haven't had before. Only odd thing, we understand the pad Thai is fried rice noodles BUT no Thai restaurant we've ever eaten at wouldn't include basic white jasmine rice to accompany a curry dish. Strong curry is meant to be balanced with plain white rice in our world. Are we wrong here? Maybe they just forgot. But we were too embarrassed to ask for rice so we ate pad Thai tossed with spoonfuls of curry. Just weird having to mix these two differently flavored dishes. The dessert. Interesting. Was really looking forward to dining here but must say I was underwhelmed. The Pad Thai was a bit of a gloopy mess and the beef cheeks in curry sauce disappointed with it being a rather small portion with a watery sauce . Prices are high for what you get but considering it's Whistler that's expected but quality should be better . It was packed on a Tuesday night and perhaps the kitchen is a bit overwhelmed, I'm no stranger to Thai food having eaten it in many places and been to Thailand several times. The food is beautifully presented and overall were for the most part all very good to excellent. There have been some changes since Mekong reopened. There is a new menu and I believe there are new owners. I'm sure there is an adjustment period with new staff and new owners but it took a very long time for us to get our food. We (party of 2) were there for 2 hours and 15 minutes. I was so excited to try this restaurant when I saw it on social media. Finally Whistler has a good Thai place. However, I would call this more Thai fusion than straight Thai. I honestly liked almost everything about this meal, but I don't love that it's a pre-fix menu. I would rather be able to order the dishes that I want, rather than sticking with their appetizer, main and dessert meal structure. All the main dishes we had (phad thai, phad see ew, chicken curry) were delicious. The papaya salad was a nice appetizer (spicy) and the chicken skewers were great. The dessert - chocolate cake - was just meh. Not very sweet and just average. Would have been nice to have an option of a dessert too (they just bring you whatever they made for dessert so I could see this being hit or miss). Cocktails are pricey at this restaurant. The service was good. Ambiance was great, the restaurant was a lot smaller than it looks online so make sure to book a reservation early! I suspect this restaurant will do well! read more
