Fabulous food! Guava Pork Shank and Maple Poppyseed salad were delicious! Even though wait staff was super busy they were very helpful and friendly! Be sure to make a reservation beforehand to ensure you get a table! Great food definitely worth the stop if you are in the area!

Love this restaurant! Every time we visit this town we try to stop in. This is Latin fusion at its best. The food is always so flavorful and good. Today we started with the corn and chorizo chowder and it was so good. The chorizo gave the chowder a smoky taste, it was delicious. For our entrees I had the Cuban sandwich and my girlfriend had the jerk chicken. Both meals were excellent. I love a good Cuban sandwich and this one hit all the right spots. The rotary pork was delicious. My girlfriend loved the jerk chicken it was really good. To end or meal we had the flan which was ridiculously good. Great job, we will come back for sure.

A quick jaunt to Woodstock VT for a getaway led us to this little gem located downtown. Welcomed by a friendly staff we started with the shrimp ceviche which was perfectly balanced and perfect for a hot summer evening, entrees chosen were a pan roasted salmon filet with a black bean and corn salsa and amazing sofrito rice and beans. Onto roasted pork shank with a rum and guava glaze, just WOW! Best bite of the night. A simple salad and warm roll is served with the entrees which for the price point was a great deal. Especially in the age of up charging for bread service, thank you! Can't recommend this restaurant enough.

I accidentally reviewed the wrong restaurant. I am sorry! This is what I get for waiting a couple of days to review!

The food was flavorful yet for the menu price the portions were on the smaller side. The servers were friendly and very helpful. Although the extra sauces do cost more if you request more, which we didn't know that nor was that communicated that to us when we requested more for the sandwiches, but the manager was nice enough to help us with that communication mishap. We had a good experience at Melaza Bistro. It is a nice clean and unique atmosphere.

Good food at Melaza Bistro! They are satisfying. The vegetable paella and Caribbean dish were delicious. Nice and comfortable restaurant. The service was pleasant and helpful.

The food was outstanding! My wife had the swordfish special and I had the pork shank. Soooooo good! Topped it off with an outstanding slice of Key Lime pie. My wife had a layered coconut cream cake; light, creamy. Our server was top notch, friendly and professional. The restaurant itself was comfortable and friendly with a very pleasant ambiance.

It's such a cute restaurant located in Woodstock. Vt. We had no reservation, but they quickly seated us near the bar. I ordered the chicken and rice dish. It was good. The chicken was tender and fresh. I especially like the plantains, which have an excellent sweet, savory taste to the meal. The meal came with a salad and bread. The vinaigrette was so flavorful. I ordered a Pinot Noir. It made for a beautiful dinner for two.

We ate here tonight and it was awesome This is a tapas forward restaurant so that is exactly what we did, shared 3 tapas and a dessert. There was only one gumbo left, so we had to get it. It has great flavor and the shrimps inside were cooked perfectly. The award winning chicken nachos were good too, had a nice mesquite flavor to the chicken and the guacamole that was served with it was tasty The chicken empanadas was the star of the tapas that we got, delicious flavor with an amazing guava sauce (however i wish there was a little more of it) DO NOT COME HERE WITHOUT GETTING THE FLAN. SO good, some reviews said it was too sweet but my girlfriend and I didn't think this at all, and we usually think desserts are way too sweet. Great local IPAs, which is huge for me. A lot of street parking and I think parking is free after 6pm.

This place was EXCELLENT! Great spot in Woodstock and good social distancing policies and outdoor space. We made a reservation online and were seated right away. They sell alcohol so no byob :) From what I remember, we got the guacamole and plantain chips which were so worth it and not that expensive. Good for sharing but just know that there was not that guacamole in the order. Plenty of chips though. Entrees wise we got a fish special that I don't see on the menu online unfortunately but it was really good! All the flavors together. The sauce made the entree. Other entree was the skirt steak with chimichurri which was SO good. Definitely get it. Plenty of food too. Entrees came with salad and a piece of delicious bread. Overall good place.

We left so glad that we picked it! The restaurant is small with a limited number of high tops inside, a bar, and a few tables outside. The decorations and vibes are adorable. We were impressed from start to finish. Peter, our waiter, was friendly and chatty (without being too chatty), which we really appreciated, and he definitely nailed small-town Vermont charm. One of us ordered the Salty Chihuahua drink. It was tasty and very well priced. One of us started with a small green salad which was loaded with olives and feta- yum!! There was not a single bite of food that wasn't delicious. It blew us away. We ordered three entrees: chicken sliders, grande salad, and a special: the summer squash skillet, which we added meatballs to. We will be talking about and figuring out what was in those meatballs for years to come. The dishes were on the smaller side, but the prices reflect the amazing quality of the food. We are three New Yorkers with lots of opinions and high standards when it comes to what we eat. Brix exceeded those standards. We have a ski condo on Stratton and don't often make the drive into Rutland, but any time we do, it's guaranteed we will be eating at Brix.

First and foremost, the menu of 20+ items online was not what we received when we came through the door. It was instead replaced with a much smaller (and more expensive) menu with only 5 entree choices. Seemed like a real bait and switch. Worse even than that, the dining room was extremely hot temperature wise, I'd guess north of 80 degrees easily. The restaurant is supposed to be air conditioned so we mentioned it to the server and asked if the air could be turned on. Her response was to say that she "agrees its very hot but the owner didn't think it was hot enough for the AC to be turned on" and if we thought it was bad in the dining room we should check out the kitchen, where she claimed it was 110 degrees. Ridiculous. We finished our drinks and left. None of us were comfortable and it didn't feel worth it to pay 30 dollars for a rib-eye while we were literally dripping sweat. We spoke with some other patrons on the way out, they mentioned their rooms were equally hot. When they called down to ask about AC, the hotel staff brought up a fan to push the 90 degree air around their room. I would avoid this place at all costs, at least in the summer months.

We had a wonderful experience with family. For starters, the restaurant doesn't face Lebanon Street, but you enter Currier Place and the restaurant is on the ground floor of the rear of the building. They do take reservations, and use Toast as their service, or one can make them directly on the restaurant's website (still using Toast as a platform). Our reservation was honored on the spot, and we were seated near a window with full view of the restaurant ongoings. Our server was from "Villa Clara", a Castro rename from the centuries old Santa Clara province and provincial capital city. And of course I had to avail myself of their excellent Mojitos. Hors d'oeuvres quickly followed and they had just made a batch of Croquetas de Jamón which lasted seconds. Then the Yuca Frita, and the Empanadas de Carne. Cuban empanadas are unique and quite different from Chilean or Argentine ones, seasoned differently. One Mojito led into a delicious Margarita and the entree order. My spouse ordered the Ropa Vieja, a monumental seasoned and shredded meat that came with the ubiquitous Congrí a black bean-colored rice dish. I had the Masitas de Puerco, the marinated pork morsels in a sofrito sauce heavy on the garlic. Ohhhhhh yes.... A dish that I hadn't had since 1967 when I left Cuba as a child. I added a ration of tostones which came unstuffed just as I wanted them. Dessert was the Arroz con Leche, and this one was genuine, and the Pan de Calatrava, a custard-type rice dessert that made our mouths water.... A supperb evening and a promise to return to this wonderful place.
