Traveling for work and the company put us here for 3 nights. We got in pretty late. Michelle and Chris came to greet us. Very charming couple. She gave us brief run down of everything. They have free snacks you can grab if you've been traveling and need a little something to get you through the night. The room was very charming. Perfect size for a long stay. The tub is huge! I could definitely see a wonderful bubble bath if I had time. The bed was so comfortable. I feel like I was sleeping on a cloud. The pillows were so nice. The room was nicely decorated. With a small sitting area outside on a balcony. You felt like both home and vacation. Very tropical landscape. There's a front porch sitting area and a huge deck in the back. Looks very inviting. Breakfast was wonderful. She kept it hot until I came down. So nice. It's Christmas time so they have the place decorated very nice. My only complaint is I'm here for work. So I'm not going to get to enjoy everything. I would love to sit on the porch drink coffee and relax. I'm definitely going to return when I'm not working. Bring my husband along. I know he'd fall in Love with the place. read more

This was my first experience staying at a B&B, and I couldn't be happier. I was greeted at the front door by Chris, Michelle, and their daughter, Cady; and immediately felt at home. The house is beautiful, nicely decorated, very clean, very well-maintained. The best part was the hospitality of the owners. They went over-and-above making sure I was well cared for. Michelle prepared a hot, homemade breakfast - something special - every morning. Every day, they asked if I needed anything, or if there was anything they could do for me. Also, they were helpful with advice regarding restaurants, attractions, etc. The location is perfect. It's on North Hutchinson Island which is quieter and with less traffic than South Hutchinson, yet it's close to restaurants, attractions, parks, and beaches. Across the street is a large park, with tennis courts and a beach on the Atlantic; down the street is a park with a nature trail along Indian River lagoons. I can highly recommend Mellon Patch, without any hesitation. read more

We have stayed here a couple of times now and we love it! We come to Ft Pierce for the fishing and diving as well as a little fun on the beach. The Mellon Patch offers us access to all of this without having to drive anywhere. The beach is a 5 minute walk across the street and we can keep our boat docked right behind the house. Chris and Michelle are nothing less than awesome! They make us fell right at home while accommodating our every need. Breakfast is a treat and if you ask ahead Chris will prepare you an incredible meal right there. Their sweet little girl Katie fell right in with our kids and was a delight to have around. If you are looking to get away for a while this is the perfect option. Ft. Pierce has a lot to offer and if you don't come for any of that just come pay these lovely people a visit. read more

Fantastic place to stay in fort Pierce. Everything you want for a beach vacation is right there. Tim loved fishing off the dock on the inland waterway. We walked across the street through a lovely park with a playground, tennis courts and paths to a beautiful ocean beach. Chris, Michelle, and Cady took great care of us and served delicious home made breakfasts every day. Can't wait to come back. read more

I wanted to give this place a higher rating because the hosts are really nice and I think they care that you have a nice experience but this is about my personal experience and how I felt overall. The adjacent guest room was to close to feel any privacy, even though the room appeared to be vacant. The towels are of faded color and looked like they had one wash too many. I prefer white like in hotel rooms. My towels need to feel like they are disinfected. I also prefer my sheets white so I can tell if they are sanitized. Our sheets were of olive green color. Some people don't realize how many people get skin infection or scabies. If you see enough TV and read you know people have these things. The place seems clean but our room had these worms which I know are hard to control. They are seasonal and come from nowhere but they still give me the hibby jibbies. A worm on me was my wake up call. I tossed it and then realized I tossed it in the direction of my husband. So I started searching for it and the little bugger was lost. So I go the the restroom and wouldn't you know the little bugger woke up my husband and he tossed it in my direction. Of course, I didn't know because they were everywhere but we were laughing about it because we only realized how the tossing occurred after we were back on our travels. On the plus side the breakfast was wonderful. Fresh omelet to our taste, toast, English muffins, OJ, butter, jelly, jam, peanut butter, Nutella, fresh coffee, assortment of teas, snacks, candies and fresh fruit. There is an above ground pool outside we were not sure if it was available to us but we didn't have a need for it. It did look clean and sparkling. The beach across the avenue was nice and had lots of shells. The water was a little rough due to the time of year, I assume. Although the facility was clean it could use a little renovation. read more

I stayed here over the past week while on vacation. The inn was wonderful. Excellent accommodations and a great, home like place to stay. Very clean. Michelle and Chris go out of their way to make sure you're comfortable and enjoying your time. The breakfast is delicious as well. They are very accommodating to any dietary restrictions you have as well (in my case, dairy).Will definitely be back one day! read more

This B&B is top notch in every sense of the word! Michelle & her little family are the most gracious, accommodating hosts one could hope for. The food was outstanding, they think of every little touch to make you feel right at home. Snacks, coffee, etc. were available always & the breakfast was outstanding. We were so catered to, we thought we were only one of a few guests; much to our surprise when we came out for breakfast to see about 15 others! We can't wait to go back! read more

We enjoyed our stay in the suite upstairs. The suite was quiet, clean and nicely decorated. Our breakfasts have been satisfying and delicious. Snacks in the lobby anytime, and the fridge in the room was nice so we could bring our own snacks and beverages for that. Since we had a bit of rain, we were happy to have that convenience. Don't go here! They lie! They send you a confirmation with no total. Then you get your credit card statement and its MUCH higher. Definitely not worth it. The back lawn looks like a dump. So does the kitchen. read more

We were in town for a running event up in Vero, only spending one night, and we decided to spend it in Fort Pierce at the Mellon Patch. It was lovely! The proprietors Chris and Michelle are warm and friendly and so very welcoming ! The Inn is charming and cozy and has all the amenities you could want. This is the best B&B experience I've had in all of Florida, hands down. Chris and Michelle are delightful and extremely accommodating, allowing us to check in early and check out late. The inn is adorably quaint, impeccably clean, and exactly what we were looking for. The homemade breakfast was unbeatable, hot and fresh. Our room was recently repainted, the bed was unbelievably comfortable and the bathtub was irresistible, perfect for a bubble bath. Ridiculously affordable and in a great location, the Mellon Patch Inn is your best option for a relaxing beach vacation in this area. We will certainly be back! read more
