Awful experience, took tons of time. Waited for a table for 20-25 minutes with a dozen other people. When finally seated... it took 10 minutes till we were waited on, then another 15-20 for the drinks to come. They weren't able to make half of the drinks, so had to reorder and wait another 7. We waited another 15 minutes to order food, it took 30 minutes for soups/salads, and about 45-50 minutes for the entrees. Multiple orders were incorrect, the "crispy wings" were cold and falling off the bone. Cool layout and pizza was fine but that's it. Service/Time efficiency was horrific. These are some heavy and tasty pizzas. We arrived at 5 pm, barely beating the big crowd. So we were seated right away and watched the place quickly fill and generate a waiting line. I knew that food takes a while to arrive, from having eaten at other locations, but it was no big deal for me. The server was attentive throughout the meal. Started with pretzels, which are also included in the happy hour specials for a good price. I liked them, and they came with quite a bit of dipping marinara (we got the parmesan sprinkled ones), but they aren't traditional pretzels. Rather, they are pizza crust formed in the shape of a pretzel. But they do a passable job and have their own good flavor. The pizza itself (house special), was delicious. Crust is quite good. It's dense, and needs to be to hold up to the heft of the toppings. It was really loaded with toppings, and was flavorful and hot throughout. Point of comparison is that the calorie count for a medium slice was about 480 calories, vs. about 330 for a Dominos or Papa Johns slice. Thought I'd eat most of a medium pizza myself, but only made it through a couple of slices after also having the pretzels. read more

We had a group of 18, and they don't take reservations. So 3 of us got on the waitlist app for 3 different tables of 6-7 people. I was the first to check in, and I told the hostess what was happening and what we did because of our group size. Even though it was super busy, she smiled and took care of us setting us up in the back room. After that our waitress, Chanel, came to take our order. We explained that there would be about 15 hungry gymnasts, asked her how she wanted to take their orders to make it easiest on her, and then she took care of the rest. She was so patient with our large group! I was very impressed with their flexibility, customer service and ability to accommodate everything (including a bunch of teenage girls as their parents). Well, at least it was hot... Seriously the most generic tasting pizza we have had in a VERY long time. We ordered cheese bread that was literally cheese on industrial/mass produced bread and the sauce was just tomato sauce with little/no spice (I.e. flavor). When the sausage pizza came, the crust tasted like it was made days ago in a warehouse, frozen and shipped across the country, thawed and baked on-site. Even pizza thats "meh" we will typically finish, but we each ate 2 slices apiece and got the check. I'm THRILLED something came to this building but sad that this is what we have. The old Charlie Gitto's in Chesterfield has been reborn as a Mellow Mushroom. The menu seems to be the same as the Sunset Hills location. Decor is a generic mushroom scheme layered over what survived from the building's previous incarnation (vs the St. Louis theme at the Sunset Hills location and the 80's/90's theme at the Cottleville location). Given the newness of this location and the difficult business environment of these trying modern times, they're really hitting it out of the park service wise. Hopefully they just cloned the Sunset Hills menu for the sake of expediency and will give this place a bit of culinary individuality later on. When trying a new MM location, I look forward to seeing what their 'unique' menu items are. Really that's the only complaint, and it's a minor one. read more

Newley opened in the heart of central chesterfield and, it for the most part is a decent addiction. I know opening a business is hard during these times, especially with staff issues but there is a big problem here. By the looks of it our waitress was doing everything she could but it just wasn't enough for some. Props to the staff that are able to work and do as much as they can though. For the food it is actually pretty good. Pizza is top shelf for the area and rivals dewey's. It is also fairly priced which I didn't expect. I hope this place can get the help it needs in terms of workforce and if that happens there is only bright futures ahead. read more

However, we couldn't get her to return to our table after the pizza arrived. EVERYONE was out of drinks. She wouldn't look our way when she passed. I ordered the Holy Shiitake pizza, tator tots and a peach fuzz drink.They have a surprisingly large drink menu which included beer, special cocktails and wine. The service was on par with other pizza restaurants. Our server was attentive as they could be given how busy it was. I will say the pizza was a definite must try for vegetarian and carnivores alike. St. Louis is not short on pizza options. Overall I would give them another go. With so many options this seems like a great restaurant for a family night out. read more
