Went to lunch today and was one of two tables seated outside on the the patio. Service was great, food was delicious. My friend got her favorite pizza and really enjoyed it. I got a Greek salad with chicken and asked for it "chopped". Sometimes it's hard for restaurants to do it as it takes more time but they did and it was perfect! I don't wish for restaurants to be slow right now for business but it's nice or the customers sometimes. The regular size salad was so big I took home the rest for lunch tomorrow. read more

Holy shiitake why don't I come here more often and order my favorite mushroom pizza. Mellow mushroom is a sit down restaurant with lots of nods to the psychedelic. Their pizza is delicious, and I've attempted to make their dough myself to no avail. They offer salads, calzones, and sandwiches if you're not in the mood for pizza. The last time I came, my family and I got the spinach artichoke appetizer with both bread and pita to dip. Their pita bread is amazing. I wasn't expecting it to be so good, and was pleasantly surprised. I split a large pizza with two other people, and we had two slices leftover. If you're sharing with 4 people, then I think a large *should* be ok, but you might want to get an appetizer. You can also "split" the pizza, and put two different specialties on each side. Chose to come to this restaurant during a recent visit to Clearwater for a few reasons, but chief among them is that they have outdoor dining so that folk like me, who haven't forgotten that there's a pandemic going on still, can still enjoy a dinner out without risking my health. Unfortunately, I was deeply disappointed to find that the restaurant allows people to smoke in the outside dining area. We ended up taking our pizza to go instead of sit near the large smoking party. I feel bad for the servers that have to deal with such inconsiderate patrons. And I Hope that the owner/manager reconsiders their stance on smoking on the patio. The pizza we took to go was okay. This was my first time visiting the Mellow Mushroom and it was simply okay. I am not much of a pizza fan to begin with so I ended up trying the sausage fest calzone which was huge! I only ended up eating a few bites but didn't ask for a to go box because it was lacking something and I didn't really enjoy the taste of it. I really wanted to fall in love with this place since it is the closest pizza place to my house and the decor is really nice. I love the gluten free crust...it actually tastes like a normal pizza. I like their speciality options and I've always had good service. They have a decent selection of craft beer but I almost always get their sangria. It's my favorite thing on the menu!! I also took advantage of thier check in special. I can't count how many times we have passed this restaurant without stopping....MISTAKE!! While running errands today, hubby and I decided to stop here for lunch on our way home and boy, are we glad we did! The pirate statue out front and the huuuuge psychedelic mushroom off to the side are just a hint of what lies ahead! The place is good size with a really long wrap around bar and many, many big screen TVs to watch sports, which was all that was on. Rachael, our server and bartender was so sweet and explained the basics which means you can have your pizza any way you want!! The place inside was weird the food tasted ok but when we got home our stomachs did not agreed with the food haven't been back since then.

Ugggh.. another hair in my food today here again. This is happened way too many times now. Stopped coming here for months because it was happening all the time but tried to give another chance and now 2 out of the past 3 times found another hair! They obviously don't wear hair nets (ball caps don't count) or beard nets or maybe some do at sometimes. Wouldn't have a problem than with this issue. Managers always handle it well but the problem doesn't get resolved. I'm only coming here for a drink now. Great atmosphere and nice staff tho. Thanks for the invite to come back to you on your charge but I won't accept it. You guys have already given me that offer in the past and it did not resolve the problem. I can't eat here anymore. I've dined at the Citrus Park location many times & it has been really good! The only reason I am giving 2 stars is because my daughter loved all the bright colors & cool stuff to look at. We ordered pretzel bites for an app, a kids meal and 2 small pies. The pies came out first, we asked the young lady where the pretzel bites went. She walked away without an answer & our server came to the table. She didn't apologize but said "do you still want them?". I told her to please put the order in & also asked for ranch dressing. She walked away and never returned. Another girl brought us the pretzel bites & still no ranch. Before we could ask again she walked away quickly. I have visited a number of Mellow Mushrooms in Florida and have consistently had some of my favorite pizzas every time I visit. My visit to this location was no different. I ordered the Rib Eye Pie and it was delicious! The pizza was full of creamy provolone, feta, and mozzarella cheese, tender Portobello mushrooms, and flavorful artichoke and kalamata olives. The pizza was light on the steak which seemed to add very little to the flavor of the pizza anyway. This was odd given the name of the pizza but, regardless, the pizza was still excellent. I also got a free Caesar Salad by checking in with the Yelp app. The salad was pretty standard: Romaine lettuce with croutons, shaved Parmesan, and Caeser dressing. Mellow Mushroom is a well known establishment, but this particular one takes the brand and elevates it IMO. I've been here 3x for family events and every time it gets better and better. Specifically, the food is above other MM's I've tried. They also have a unique ambiance there due to the creative interior design and the enormous tree outside. Now to the pies. Their pizzas take a bit longer, but they are custom made obviously. I suggest a half and half to ensure the most fresh pizza you can get. Do this everywhere, for the record. Past pies I've loved there include: Great White- not the usual white, it has onions. Delicious Maui Wowie - Great for pineapple lovers like myself Funky Q Chicken - BBQ pizza heaven We were also all blown away by the stuffed mushroom appetizer. This was a GIANT mushroom stuffed and not little frozen mushrooms you would be served at other places. The pub burger is enormous and my father in law loved every bit. We also enjoyed many Kentucky Sunrises, Sunset in Paradise, and draft beers. Overall, this place is great for anyone that loves different pizza and excellent service. Solid performance tonight! We went for an earlier dinner tonight because we felt like pizza and wanted to give this one a try. We have been to another Mellow in Myrtle Beach SC. We both wanted pizza but couldn't agree on one, so hubby got the house special on the thin crust and the toppings were plentiful. He managed to eat almost 3 slices. I got a pepperoni and pineapple pizza on original crust and it was good, done enough but not too much, and my small of 4 pieces was generously sized. I ate almost 2 slices and couldn't eat anymore. The place was pretty quiet. The staff was friendly. They played good classic rock, all stuff that came out before the staff was even born...things were clean and the food came out timely. I'm sure we'll be back at some time. We do want to try several places but I would recommend this place if you haven't been. They have other things that sound good, besides pizza -- so if you have multiple people in your group, there should be something for everyone. The parking lot is plenty big but you have to be driving west on 60 to turn in and you have to make a right when you come out of the parking lot. It is a very complex area for traffic. read more

First is Mellow Mushroom on Gulf to Bay Clrwtr. My review is only about the pizza. I had stopped at the Sheldon location near my house for the pizza week special and was told they were not participating which meant I would have to travel to Clearwater for the contest. At this point I was hoping that it would not be very good cause I was ticked off. I had been to the Sheldon location before and was not too impressed. At least 3 other joints near me that are better. Well, pizza came and it looked very nice. Crust a little thicker than I like but the same can be said for many other places. The crust was tasty, it had a nice flavor. The sauce was very good and the cheese also proved to be a cut above. The crust below the pie was a perfect thinness. I really enjoyed the couple slices I ate. Taking the rest home to the wife! What bewilders me is that this place on Gulf to Bay is so much better than the place on Sheldon by my house. I thought they would all be the same! Go figure?? read more

I've been going to various mellow mushrooms for what feels like quite some time now. I've even brought visiting extended family to this one, and it is always a hit. The pizza they make comes at a premium, however it is well worth it. The dough they use is a perfect balance of salty, crispy exterior with soft interior. The sauce and cheese they use are also fantastic, if you wanted to come here and get just a plain pepperoni pizza you would not be disappointed. During our most recent visit, my girlfriend and I ordered the veg out pizza (formerly the mighty veggie). It had peppers, onions, olives, tomatoes, mushrooms, and spinach. For me, I find it is the perfect blend of veggie flavor with a classic pizza. I also recommend the kosmic karma, which has mozzarella, feta, sun dried tomatoes, and pesto. I absolutely love pesto, so this is an obvious choice imo. They have an incredible beer selection here as well, and must say their pizzas pair excellently with a beer. I mistakenly ordered a beer that has hemp in it of which I am not a fan, and the staff courteously replaced it for me with another one at no charge which I deeply appreciated. The atmosphere and decor in the restaurant is also great, with plenty of psychedelic imagery and colors about. For sure come and try this place! Out on a day of shopping a girlfriend and I stopped in for lunch yesterday. We were seated right away and the atmosphere was friendly, quirky and clean. We ordered the holy shitake pie and the steak & cheese calzone to split. The mushroom soup looked so good I was having a hard time deciding. Our waitress, Sierra, was awesome. She offered to bring me a sample of the soup to try. It was delicious and will definitely be my order on our next visit. The calzone was good, but the true star of the show was the shitake pie. Absolutely delish, some of the best pizza I've had. And Sierra was adorable, super nice & very attentive. A little pricey for pizza but so worth it. I went to Mellow Mushroom with high hopes. Walked out a little disappointed. First- ambiance- it is a large nicely decorated, kid oriented place. (reminded me of Alice in Wonderland for some reason). Checkin was quick and no issues. Clean too. Second - the food- it took SOOO long to get it. Almost an hour. For that reason alone I would probably not go back. We shared a small greek salad, pretzel bites and a half meat and half veggies pizza. The salad was a decent size. It was good, I just wish the veggies were a little fresher. The pretzel bites were soft and not very appealing. The pizza was actually pretty good. One half had lots of veggies cooked well, the other half had a variety of meats that worked together well. Third - the service. Our waiter was super nice and friendly, but didn't pay attention to details. First, when I inquired about the happy hour specials he told me they offered Yengling for 99 cents. Wow! Amazing deal. When the bill came I noticed that I didn't get the 99 c/ beer. He explained that it is the price only until 5 pm. Then why was I quoted that price at all when we sat down at 5:30?! Strike one. Strike two was when the bill also included the "free" pretzel bites with Yelp check in. Strike three was not asking if I wanted thin or regular crust. We had a late lunch with friends. Got sat right away and the server came within about 2 minutes. She was very helpful and informative about how it works. We ordered drinks and began checking our menu options. We ended up getting the large Holly Shiitake (mainly several mushrooms and an aioli sauce with no tomatoes) and 2 salads: the wholly kale (kale, blue cheese, cranberries, pecans) and the green envy (mixed greens, cheese and some other veggies i do not remember). We were 4 people sharing this and our other friends ordered medium pizzas with their own creation. We got the food fairly quickly and it was fantastic.
