I'm very disappointed at the management and staff of this location. I've been coming to this particular Mellow Mushroom for the last 3 years since relocating to the area and have never had no issues with the service or product up until lately. Long story short: Placed an order, once received the wings were undercooked and pizza toppings incorrect. Called multiple times to make aware of issue left name and number no response after 2 weeks. Final attempt called location explained incident yet again young lady recalled my previous attempts and recited my phone number back to me from previous notes and I was finally able to speak with manager and was told due to the length of time since order was placed there was nothing she could do. The 1st time I ate here with friends the pizza was very good. Couldn't wait to come back. I thought it was the best pizza I've had since I moved here from CT. Home of Frank Pepe's pizza. Well here it is on my 2nd visit and service was horrible. The young man kept reaching over us, and the pizza had entirely way to much cheese. It was enough for us to make two more with. What was suppose to be an onion and peppers pizza had very little toppings. The sausage deluxe calzone had little to no sausage, and the best was my very gritty Greece salad. I was pretty deflated after hearing the hype of how amazing Mellow Mushroom was. We took our family- 2 adults and 2 kids and I use a wheelchair. It was really difficult to get into the building. The handicap spot was in the back by the garbage and it stunk. the ramp starts at the back of the building and after a little bit of a maze opens up by the back door- when we got there, we had to move cardboard boxes and trash out of the way to continue to the side of the restaurant to reach an entry door. I would not have been able to wheel myself had I been alone. once we entered, there was no guidance- no hostess, no idea on how we were to proceed and no one approached us with our obviously confused faces. We sat down at table near the counter and after we had sat for about 15 minutes, my husband went to the counter and the girl said he was supposed to order there. no menu or anything. we explained it was our first time there and they didn't get anymore informative or welcoming. We placed our order and waited a decent time for our food. they did not bring it out together- but as it was ready, which is not a great thing when you have 2 kids and their meals were last to be served. the food was ok- I had a salad, the boys had pizza and my husband had a burger. I felt the food was a bit pricey and getting a drink never happened, even though there was a server going around to tables that had obvious "regulars"...I don't know why our family didn't get the same service, but we will never know, since we won't be back. read more

Had this location cater about 8 pizzas at work. Great ingredient combos for their pizzas, that satisfied everyone! My favorite is always the kosmic karma. I have been a Mellow Mushroom customer since the original hole in the wall on Spring Street in Atlanta in 1973. Always good but what we had in Conyers tonight was the best one in years. Crust was full of flavor, crispy on the bottoms; right amount of sauce, cheese and toppings. No longer live in the area and our local restaurant in South Carolina needs to take some lessons from the Conyers folks. An additional plus, our server was wonderful. I have always loved Mellow Mushroom and this location has always been great; until now. This was my 3 visit since COVID started that was not great, or even good. I stopped in after work and because my cell did not work, I went inside to order and went back to my car. The server followed me out to make sure which number parking spot I was in. She said it would be ready in about 15 minutes and she would bring it out so I tipped her and thanked her. When I looked up, it had been 30 minutes. I went in to see what happened and my order was sitting on the counter. I picked it up and it was barely warm. My family was waiting so I just decided to take it. I live less than 5 minutes away and had to warm the pizza up to eat it. Well, at least my order was right this time. read more

Absolutely loved the magic mushroom soup! Yelp has an offer for a free small Greek salad or small Caesar salad when checking in. Pizza was yummy and very filling... had plenty of left overs. Staff was very friendly but pizza did seem to take a while... worth the wait. Specials board promotes $2 specialty beer on Saturday, $1.75 Yuengling on Thursdays, and so forth. This was a different Mellow experience for me. I'm by no means a connoisseur of Mellow Mushroom, but I have always perceived it as a casual, sit-down, dirty hippy friendly restaurant (which is awesome!). Maybe it was just a lunch thing, but I had to order from the counter, opposed to the normal sit down experience. Whatever, not a huge deal, but I did stand there like a buffoon before realizing no one was coming to rescue me off of 'I need a place to sit and a nom-tastic pizza to stuff in my face' island. Now, for the food- I had the Kosmic Karma pie, which has become one of my faves as my tastebuds have changed. The flavor was good, portion was great, but if I had to critique it, I have to mention how much olive oil was on the pizza. I'm all for a little EVOO action, but it was a little excessive. Didn't affect the taste, but it did affect the longevity of the polo I was wearing. There is free Wifi there as well, so I was able to catch up on work emails while enjoying my lunch. Would eat there again if I have a hankerin' for a pizza, but I wouldn't say that it was a raving fan experience from the customer service angle. read more

I recently ordered three personal pizzas to go from Mellow Mushroom on a Saturday afternoon before a few basketball games were set to tip. The pizzas were excellent. Everyone I was with loved their particular pizza - my dad loved his veggie pizza. My gf loved her Chicken Cesar salad pizza. I am amazed at how tasty this particular pizza is. One wouldn't normally think that the flavors and textures associated with a Chicken Cesar salad would go good with a pizza, but it did. I want to officially nominate the Mellow Mushroom Chicken Cesar pizza as one of the most Underrated Pizzas around. I can say that having tasted it at Mellow Mushrooms from Atlanta to Charlotte to Greensboro. I ordered a small pepperoni and pineapple pizza which was excellent as well, though they were a little lite with the pineapples. I like the crust on the Mellow Mushroom pizzas. It tastes fresh as though its made fresh every day. I also like that the crust is firm and not flimsy (that's what she said, haha) I can't comment to much on the service as we ordered the pizzas to go. I can say that the staff we did come in contact with was friendly, polite, and brought our order right to us as soon as it was ready. Parking can sometimes be tight as there are a bunch of restaurants and shops in the small area. What more can one say - great pizza. with a great crust. Great service. read more

We went here to have a pie and their classic pita and hummus. Great service. Seated quickly. Food was great. We had something strange happen lol the pie fell off the table top they sit it on. The last two pieces were on the floor. They comped our drinks and gave us a cookie which I totally did not expect them to do. (It was a complete fluke deal lol) but they were awesome. I typically don't leave reviews but felt the need to leave one today because I was extremely inconvenienced at This restaurant. I placed an order online and after picking up my food, I realized my pizza was wrong. I contacted the store and was placed on hold several times for 10 minutes until I was able to speak with a manager. When I informed of the mix up, I was told they would remake it in and was assured that they would go ahead and put the pizza in the oven so it would be ready day by the time I got to the store so I wouldn't have to wait. After driving the 20 minutes it takes to get to the location, I go to retrieve my food and was told by my he cook that they hadn't made it yet but they would put the pizza in the oven and it would take 10 minutes to make. There was no apology, no offer for any of my money to be refunded. Nothing. I am extremely dissatisfied with the level of service I received and I hope that this review will help the staff to improve in the future. read more

I've been a patron of Mellow Mushroom in Conyers since they opened some time back in the mid'ish 1990s. I could not begin to guess or say how many times I've been there. Mellow Mushroom in Conyers will be a mainstay for me as long as I am local. I love the food and the staff is wonderful. Like any business, no one is perfect. But one thing I've noticed is that the incredibly few times I've had lack luster service, that server was not there the next time(not that I said anything...I imagine the proof was in the pudding and they were let go). The atmosphere is great, the staff is nice, the beer selection is exceptional and the pizza is exceptional. I'm over 50 years old, have traveled the US and Europe and thought I had partaken of great pizza. The Mellow Mushroom brings world-class pizza. Just one of those little gems tucked away..... I truly enjoy this pizza.... last night I took my boys out for lunch and we ordered the house special but due to the busiest time on a Friday customers service was slipping. We waited for over 45 min and was told we have tables but no chairs. I knew what to order and did within the first 5 min but my server was in a rush. I ordered appetizers of pretzels whole, pizza and drinks. However it took over 25 min to get my pretzels. We took two bites and our pizza was out.
