Great food we really enjoy breakfast, we have always had good service and food, but this past Sunday we were a little disappointed, it took about 35 minutes to get our breakfast (6 persons the restaurant wasn't crowded) the scrambled eggs were runny, breakfast pizza over done and the sausage patties were dry and well done, they're usually plump and juicy. Maybe they have new cooks, not sure but it was disappointing since we eat they at least twice a month, we will try again next week. read more

My uber cool brother recommended this place to me quite a while ago, only he goes to the mill ave one. I'm not cool enough for Mill, so I was happy to see one open here so I could try it. This place is relatively new so I expected the sketchy reviews, but don't let them scare you off--this place was great! From the ridiculously impressive beer menu, to the addicting soft pretzels with beer cheese (get these NOW!) and then on to the stellar pie, we loved it all. My husband and I rarely agree on pizza toppings, so it was awesome to be able to get half and half specialty pizzas without spending a fortune on extra toppings. We chose the Thai and the Potato, and for the first time we loved them both! I would say the Thai was our favorite. The curried chicken really stood out and the cool cucumber freshened it up nicely. Of course we drizzled sriracha for an extra bite. Yum! Service was also top notch tonight. Our waitress was on point and the manager really impressed us with his customer service. He really took care of the table next to us that happened to get the wrong topping. Hey, mistakes happen, but it's nice to know they care enough to make it right. We can't wait to return! read more

So, my wife and I didn't intend to eat here. The other two places we walked into had an hour wait. So we came here, cause I felt the building looked pretty cool. 20 minute wait for a table, which was ok, but we also had option to sit at bar. I'm not a bar type person, but my wife wanted to so we sat. That is our lead up. The food was terrific. The bartenders were terrific. We are not alcohol drinkers, soda is our choice. All three tenders kept us refilled. They were all so pleasant. I checked in on Yelp and was excited to get a free salad for first timers. It came out with our wings. Both were delicious. The salad was served in a chilled bowl and the lettuce was fresh. It was a fantastic Caesar salad. The wings were tasty. Our pizza was delivered by wait staff. It too was delicious. The atmosphere was upbeat, everyone seemed happy. There was a happy buzz going around. All in all, I'm anxious to go back..I'm glad the other places were too crowded. Next time I'm in neighborhood, I'll plan to go here. Great job folks. read more

Much better the second time. Went here for breakfast and it was really good, they have quite a nice selection for breakfast including breakfast pizzas. Our waiter was very nice and prompt. I got eggs, smashed potatoes and toast, my wife got a create your own omelette. Next time I go I want to try their pizza again. read more

My Mom and I were looking for some late night eats when we noticed Mellow Mushroom was open till 2a! (Pretty hard to come by a non-fast food restaurant that's open late in this part of town!) We walked in and saw a sign that read "See bar for service", so we walked up to the bartender, and promptly had our drink order filled and food menus handed to us. We ended up getting the Mighty Meaty, which was everything you could hope for in an all meat pizza, and we also got the Buffalo Chicken, complete with buffalo sauce, ranch, chicken and bacon. Both pizza's were delicious and we enjoyed their interesting pizza crust. Overall, I'm happy to see such a great place available for late night food on my side of town. The only reason why I gave it 4/5 stars was that it was a little inconvenient to get up and walk over to the bar for everything we needed since they had no servers working at the time. I say walk to the bar because we opted to sit at a table near the bar since the bar area was a little crowded. The two bartenders that were there did an excellent job getting to us as fast as they could, and checking on us periodically, I just think it would've been beneficial for them to have more help. I am unsure if no servers late at night is something this location does often. read more

It's a relatively new location in Mesa, AZ. The place looks nice and the staff are kind, but what worries me about the longevity of this location is that it's in... Well, Mesa. Mesa is sort of known in the restaurant industry as the place where restaurants die. Anyone who's been on Main St has seen the recession take the worst toll on this part of the city-- At least the placement of Mellow Mushroom is a means to get people to come out and spend more money. The pizzas are great there, but what really impresses me is the selection of beer available. Also, the outdoor seating area here is nicer, nicer than even High Street. Unfortunately this location was a huge letdown. We have frequented the Ahwatukee location multiple times and have always been happy with the service and food. The Stapley location was anything but enjoyable. Our drinks ( a beer and glass of wine) took 25+ minutes to receive, the food was disappointing in presentation and quality and the atmosphere was very sterile feeling and didn't have the good mellow mushroom vibe. Stopped by today for lunch. Upon entering we were greeted by a sign that said see bar for service. But no one was at the bar. Didn't see any employees at all. There were maybe 2 occupied tables in the restaurant. We sat at the bar mostly because we didn't know where else to sit. We ordered our drinks and after a long period of time a gentleman finally asked if we were ready to order, he was not the same person who took our drink order. We placed our ordered and got our salad in a decent amount of time. The plate the salad and bread were served on was stained and looked very unappealing. After having plenty of time to eat our salad our pizza arrived. The server had to make 2 trips to bring us plates and silverware. We requested ranch. We never got the ranch and our drinks were never refilled. The manager looking person looked our way but didn't check in or come close enough for us to ask for refills or the ranch. However, we saw him at the front door sitting down, with an open red bull, chatting with a person who had come in to drop off an employment application. There was another person floating around the restaurant, potentially a hostess but she was not noticed on the floor often. The manager looking person and the hostess hung out in the back. Leaving only 1 server on the floor. He was slow and was quick to share his difficult day with the next couple that came and sat at the bar. No one asked how our meal was. No one refilled our empty drinks. And we did not get the ranch we had requested. We had to flag him down to request our check. We asked for a box but he was unable to get that for us as well and he still never asked how everything was. If they are not going to staff the restaurant adequately for lunch they should not be open for lunch. I would not recommend this location or restaurant. read more

I really love this place. Great salads, appetizers (pretzel bites with dipping sauces), and their pizza...... wowser......REALLY good pizza. I probably shouldn't tell you this but this location serves a really good breakfast too. We've had breakfast here a few times and have never been disappointed. The biscuits and gravy is a little spicy and a too little sweet for me but that's ok. After word gets out about their breakfasts, we probably won't be able to get a table. Lol. The staff is also really friendly and helpful. Update: Still LOVE their breakfast! I usually get the build your own omelette ($9.99 for 3 egg and three ingredients). Their smashed red potatoes are a pleasant surprise instead of the usual hash browns. The French-pressed coffee is a delicious high octane caffeine blast. The other thing about this place is their employees. These people seem genuinely happy to be there - none of that 'fake friendly' service you get elsewhere. From the host/hostess to the server to the kitchen staff, they're all consistently friendly and everyone chips in to make your experience a positive one. It's not unusual to see kitchen staff or the host/hostess bringing food out while it's still hot. read more

Anthony, our server, was and is the shizz. He was everything a service ambassador should be, attentive, knowledgeable of the menu, and a bright and engaging conversationalist. Dude is awesome. It was already a great day. We were there celebrating my son's promotion at work. It was not particularly busy, and my son and Anthony got in an incredibly detailed and analytical discussion about the pending NBA season. It was gripping entertainment to my wife and me. Tasty food: Killer wings, Awesome Pizza, Cold crisp salad... pretty good Cheesesteak. Note to Mellow Mushroom: Cheesesteaks are supposed to be a bit greasy... and the cheese is supposed to be melted throughout. Great time, clean, great atmosphere, tasty food, amazing staff... I'll start by saying the food and cocktails were very good. The bartender and cooks know what they're doing. The pesto breadsticks, kosmic karma and cheese pizza were very good. The rosemary and mule cocktail was surprisingly refreshing! The vibe and customer service though....left much to be desired, I wonder if maybe we came on an off night but there wasn't a personality to put with this place. I mean if the intended experience is come sit while random people tend and serve your table with little to no customer relation skills, then yes they nailed it. What a terrible effort for breakfast. In a restaurant with 6 to 10 customers, the bartender who was also stocking was our server. Needless to say stocking the beer was her first priority. I order the biscuit with a sausage gravy topper. Biscuit was good, gravy tasted like salty flour. An it was even worse it was cold. But not as cold as the frozen butter they gave me twice. But only after I asked. Why would you serve unbuttered toast and frozen butter. It just doesn't make sense. And the coffee that you have to serve yourself obviously is limited so savor what you get you won't get anymore. 9/10/2018 Right after posting comment owner messaged and wanted to send me giftcards to try the place again. The drinking water is moldy. I lived in Seattle for 10 years and became hypersensitive to mold. When other people cannot taste it in the water I can. When other people cannot smell mold in the apartment I can. Was not happy about the whole wheat pizza crust and pretzels. It was a little too different. Otherwise, the food is fresh, creative, and tasty. A lot to choose from on the menu. Servers have lots of personality. Atmosphere is what really makes this place. Good to take out of town guests. The service was also good and I appreciated that our waiter knew to put lids on the kids drinks, bring extra napkins and didn't act differently with the mess they made. We also had a groupon and the waiter made sure we used it all up, if we didn't we wouldn't get a refund so it would go to waste and I greatly appreciated his help in that. Came for breakfast...wished we hadn't. Service was extremely slow....a minimum of 20 minutes to get the food and it wasn't even busy. I ordered the stuffed French toast on challah. It read like it was going to be glorious, but when it finally came, it was served cold and the French toast aspect was basically non existent. The challah seemed to have a fleeting moment in the egg wash, so it was extremely dry and well, boring. The compote was ok. "Stuffed" is also relative as everything was just on top of the wanna be French toast. It looked delicious, just wasn't. My kids split the jack cakes and they didn't care for them. It was more corn mealy than buttermilk. Their order was also cold - pancake, eggs, bacon. Maybe a cold breakfast is the standard. The fastest thing served to us was the bill. We won't be coming back for the 'best breakfast in town' and don't recommend it for you unless you're interested in subpar service with extremely lackluster food. read more

Went here for lunch ans breakfast before. Overall food is good and price reasonable. 2 things we had from there are phenomenal. First off, the holy shitake pizza is amazing. White cheese my a variety of mushrooma topped with a truffle aoili. The truffle flavor really comes through in the aoili and tied the earthy flavors of the different really well. Their french toast is amazing best French toast ive ever had. I'm usually not a big french toast fan and I love it here. Steak and eggs breakfast was good $9.95 Steak was just a steak but the butter mushroom topping added a nice touch, comes with 3 eggs and choice of toast or fruits or biscuit, I added side of green chili gravy for small charge. Their biscuit is good the size of a grapfruit. Green chilli gravy was ok - green chili flavor was there but the consistancy is not thick and creamy as gravy should be. Best breakfast in The Valley! French press coffee with tantalizing. Steak and eggs was spot on. Nice breakfast cut of steak thick enough to actually cook appropriately. Their steak butter is deliciously rich. Potatoes are fantastic. We also had JohnnyCakes, always a nice treat! The cornflour added a nice sweet flair to the buttermilk batter. Cooked to perfection lightly crisped on the edges and moist inside. Definitely return for this uncommon delectable! Service is always attentive without being irritating.
