Ugh! The service was subpar at best. I didn't have silverware or napkins when my food arrived and she was gone so long that we had to get our own. The hostess actually told us she ran out. Umm. Not really my problem. The pizza was burnt and took forever to arrive. When we ate a small amount of food and she brought us boxes, there was no room on the table but she just handed them to me and walked away. It probably would have been helpful to have cleared a single plate so I could even box it. Was so hopeful because we enjoy the one on Cary street. I waited to come thinking the reviews were harsh at the start but never going to return. What a shame. read more

Order wrong - again!? I give up. Out of a party of three, only two of us actually ate. They have a "build-it" pizza but good luck getting what you order. About our third time here and not once has it been right. Not once. Service was painfully slow and nonexistent most of the time we were there. We won't be back. I have a very tight budget to feed 35 to 40 people every Saturday at my dealership. I had heard good things about Mellow Mushroom from my daughter who appreciates the vegan options. My assumption had always been that it was way too expensive. I managed to feed all of those people the most amazing pizza we had all ever eaten for well under $200. The ingredients were so fresh. The Veg Out with vegan cheese was amazing. My personal favorite was the Great White with anchovies. I can't say enough about how good it was. The crust! OMG the crust! We had both traditional and thin and they were both excellent. read more

Went on a Sat night and only had a 25min wait. Just enough time to grab a beer at the bar and sit outside and relax. After we were seated, the staff was prompt and helpful. We ordered two medium pizzas for the four of us - the white pizza and the house special. Both were fantastic and very flavorful. The only reason for the 4 star rating instead of 5 is because it did take a while for the pizzas to come out and since we didn't order any appetizers we were quite hungry. (Took about 45min for the pizzas to arrive). All in all it was a great night out at a new establishment on the Southside. The place is huge and it was packed. Will definitely go back read more

We had our first visit to a Mellow Mushroom in Roanoke and loved it and was really looking forward to the new one coming to Midlothian. Sat at the bar because the table we were seated at had beyond uncomfortable chairs, so we moved to the bar. Sad to report - waited for silverware, pizza took FOREVER, and when it finally arrived, it was lukewarm and at best, mediocre. I will give MM another shot and hopefully, their food and services have improved. I truly hope so! read more

I've been to this location several times since it opened, and I've had nothing but fantastic experiences. The service is great and does a good job of creating a friendly atmosphere. I've never had to wait too long for a seat or for food, and the staff is always incredibly nice. The food is awesome - I've ordered different salads, pizzas, and appetizers that have all been delicious. My favorite has been the House Special specialty pizza, which I now find myself craving all the time. I'm planning to go for my birthday dinner in a few weeks and I could not be more excited! read more

Just ordered and picked up an onion, green pepper and kalamata olive pizza on a olive oil and garlic base. There were almost no toppings on the pizza and the scarce ones that were there had very little flavor - even the olives, which often have a strong, salty flavor, were bland. The garlic that was supposed to be in the base was undetectable. In contrast, there was too much mozzarella cheese and it had no flavor. The "olive" in the olive oil base was also undetectable. Instead each bite included an unpleasant, bland oily quality. Very disappointing. We usually order from Caraba's but they often screw up the order. In spite of that, we will go back to Caraba's because the pizza is much better. read more

Mellow Mushroom is one of the most eclectic restaurants I've been to and honesty has my favorite pizza/appetizer combo of all time. They have the most delicious specialty pizzas (my personal favorite is the Mighty Meaty) and they are always cooked perfectly. My favorite appetizer is BY FAR the Pretzel Bites-- my friends and I spit an order every time we come here. Also, the waiters and hosts are all so friendly and efficient. This restaurant is so great all around, and is definitely my go-to pizza place now. read more

Not great. We were seated at a dirty table that was wiped clean after we sat down. The plates for our pizza were dirty, one with what looked like pizza crust that the dishwasher didn't clean still on it. Be careful sitting outside. The restaurant staff go outside to smoke, but they are literally right around the corner of the outdoor seating area and their smoke blows right into the outdoor seating. I follow a gluten-free diet and so was ecstatic about this restaurant coming to Midlothian. I have driven past it every day on my way to work and my family finally did the call-ahead and waited 30 minutes to check it out. While this was opening week for this restaurant, my husband and I were extremely disappointed with the management. The servers did their best, but the kitchen was very backed-up (after 45 minutes we asked for our pizzas to be immediately placed in to-go boxes so we could get our daughter home and in bed). Our server made sure they sped-up our toddler's meal (30 minutes after ordering) and assured us she would send a manager to our table. The manager arrived immediately and proceeded to make excuses as to the now 65-minute wait time. "To-go is super backed-up and it's our first week and things are crazy, blah blah." That's all we got. He left our table saying as soon as our food was ready he would send it to us right away. Well, of course-what else would you do with it? His excuse was lame and his attitude totally discounted us as patrons. Both my husband and I have served for many years in several restaurants and were appalled at the list of excuses he gave (sorry, I have no sympathy for your lack of management skills), instead of halting the back-to-back seating and line of people outside or helping in the kitchen or stopping to-go orders that were somehow taking precedence over seated guests. If you are Domino's, fine, but Mellow Mushroom is first a dine-in restaurant and as an added bonus offers takeout. It was very inappropriate how the restaurant was being managed and the way the manager spoke to us. Nothing was discounted or taken off our bill (gift card for next time? Coupon? A hug?). We left over an hour after being seated with our food going cold to make the trip home. Longest take-out order of my life. Don't go here until they get their act together. read more

First time here. Sat in the bar because it was quite busy around noon. We checked out the drink menu and there are lots of great drinks available. Lots on tap. However, when I sit at a nice looking bar, I would expect to see some nice looking bartenders. The two girls working looked like they just rolled out of bed. Messy hair, messy clothes, no makeup...the morning look. I just found it...unappealing. We ordered our food...I got a large chef salad and chicken wings. Hubs got a sub sandwich and soup. Mine came first and his came fifteen minutes later. Which was awkward and just bad etiquette. My salad was 9 dollars of stupid. Lame. Nothing on it. The chicken wings were advertised as crispy but were beyond slimy. Hubs sandwich was good and the soup never even showed up. So, I don't know if I'll ever go back. The place is nice looking with a great bar area....but just couldn't look past those sloppy looking bartenders. read more

I attended on Saturday, February 17th around 2:00 p.m. There was a 20 - 25 min wait, which I didn't mind, and I was seated in around 30 mins. My guest and I were flipping through the menu for about 5 mins before we realized that no one had came to greet us but shrugged it off to it appearing busy. 10 mins go by and we have not been greeted nor acknowledged by any of the servers, who have all circled by at this point as we are sitting directly right to the entrance of the restaurant. At this point, another table is being sat while we remain waiting. Maybe 30 seconds after the table has been seated, they are greeted by a server who sits in the empty chair to take their order. At this point, I feel racially discriminated against as me and my guest are two young, Black American males and the table immediately greeted by their server were Middle Aged White people. After witnessing this, I grabbed my things, walked to the front to let the hostess know that my guest and I were never greeted/serviced and left fuming. I never felt so worthless as a customer. I wanted to speak to the manager (wish I did!) but I was so angry at what I witnessed to speak at the moment. Will not return nor did I want free/discounted food after feeling discriminated against by the servers who deliberately walked by our table for over 10 mins without a greeting/acknowledgment of any sort. read more
