I know, I know...some people may be rolling their eyes about a 5-star rating for a chain restaurant like Ihop. I get it and debated rating it a 4 just because it's Ihop but then I reconsidered and decided that the final star had been duly earned and therefore should be duly given. No, this is not the type of establishment that will be winning any Michelin stars, but food doesn't have to be fancy to be fabulous. Much to my sister's disdain, Ihop has always been and will always be my favorite, go-to breakfast spot. Now don't get me wrong, location matters! I have been to some Ihop locations that can barely scratch the surface on a second star, but fortunately for me, this location close to my new house is not one of those. I had been keeping my fingers crossed since I saw it while driving by the other day because I know what it's like to have a subpar Ihop location closest to my house but luckily with this latest move, I am no longer in that camp. I woke up this morning with a craving for my favorite thing on the Ihop menu: the breakfast sampler. As a libra, I appreciate a dish that calms my indecisive nature by giving me a little bit of everything. Why choose between yummy things when I can just get a taste of all of them in the same order? I am picky, though, so I usually ask for all sausage to skip the bacon and ham but love being able to have the egg, meat, and hashbrowns and then follow it up with a nod to my sweet tooth for a few bites of their heavenly pancakes. I rarely eat everything as I think I might burst if I did, but I enjoy several bites of it all and am usually satisfied enough to skip lunch for the day, which is another perk. My breakfast partner today ordered the make-your-own omelet and chose to have it with the 4-blend cheese and avocados with hashbrowns on the side. Both of us left with happy tummies. Now, I will say that the food at every Ihop I have ever been to has been on point. I never had a dish that I did not like at Ihop. The only thing that divides the quality locations from the sucky ones is service. If service is slow or simply not good, it ruins the whole experience. Service at my first visit to this Ihop today was excellent. We were greeted in a friendly manner and seated promptly. Our server was just the right amount of attentive, had a great attitude, and got every detail of our order right even though she didn't write it down (which sometimes makes me nervous). She was also proactive about asking if we needed certain condiments ahead of time and didn't miss a beat refilling our drinks or bringing the bill when it was time. It does not take much to make me happy when it comes to service but so many restaurants miss the mark on that one, that I truly quality service when I see it. I've been to the IHOP in East Cobb multiple times within the last 30 days. They now offer Happy Hour specials everyday between 2 pm and 10 pm. There are a number of entrees for $6 each and a few snacks & sides for $3. Both times I tried their ham and cheese omelette. They come with 3 buttermilk pancakes. The omelette was decent but not very cheesy. The first time I came in was for my birthday. They give you a free stack of any type of pancakes for your birthday. I wanted to try their Cinna-A-Stack pancakes, but I was told by Patrick the server that the kitchen was all out of cinnamon. He recommended trying the Tres Leches pancakes. They were pretty good. What I miss about their newer menus is that they no longer have the international pancake section. They used to call themselves the International House of Pancakes. They now call themselves IHOP primarily because they got rid of most of the international pancakes. They have Swedish Crepes with lingonberries and lingonberry butter, but I miss the ones they used to serve with lemons, butter and powder sugar. Those were the best! So, the food and service are decent. The wait times for the food can be fairly long - around 20 minutes to get the food. If you're looking for a reasonably priced meal, then their new Happy Hour specials are pretty good. read more

We haven't been to an IHOP in years, but kept hearing from gym friends that this location has protein pancakes and great service. Man were they right. We came in prime time on a Sunday morning and waited mere minutes to be seated. The hosts was nice and prompt. Our server was so sweet and so informative. Sandy showed us all of her favorites and our glasses were never empty. All the customers seemed to know her, the manager and others as well. This tells me people love coming here. On to the food. Woah. This is not the IHOP I remember. This food was beautiful and tasted sooooo good. My perfect fluffy scrambled eggs were the best I've had in a decade and I've had them in a lot of cities. My country fried steak rivals Cracker Barrell. The pancakes were decorated with thin caramel and vanilla and were dessert for sure. My husband had the chicken enchilada omelet and was equally impressed. The value was insane. This location is so clean and the staff were all smiles and helping each other. The bathroom was spotless. Sad to report. After 30 years of being a customer at this location - we are done. Took my kids (they ordered from $6 Manuel). and grandchildren. I ordered an adult meal and a child's funny face for granddaughter. Was charged full price on kid's meal. When I questioned this I was told we need 2 adult meals for a kids free. I asked the waitress to talk to the manager. She came back and said the manager confirmed this. I called corporate the next day. Corporate said they have always had the rule of for 1 adult can have 1 child meal. Corporate said the owner would call me within 4 days. I received an email from "local" store - - I want to apologize that Von never made it to the table for this. To clarify how this discount applies, for every regularly priced menu item you can receive a kids menu item free from 4-10. If a single parent brings 3 children and 2 of the items ordered are regularly priced items they could receive 2 kid menu items free. STILL NO CALL or offer to make this right. When I called corporate again- they couldn't care less. My networking group is looking to move (16 people). I will NOT allow us to go to IHOP. They have lost a 40+ year customer. I give this place one star today because of their lack of professionalism. I ordered two meals to go, drove to this location and picked up my food. When receiving my take out order the man at the cash register said "here's your food, everything is in there". Unfortunately for me, not all items were in my order for takeout. I was offered a couple of things to make up for the mistake by another employee, who totally threw the other employee under the bus and blamed him. I honestly don't care who made the mistake but I am disappointed about it. I recommend to ihop they stop offering takeout until they can complete the transactions correctly. Full disclosure, I hate restaurant chains and I was pressured to come here by my daughter who has seen more IHOP commercials than I would like. But for an old-timey chain whose claim to fame is pancakes, I am not complaining. This place represents the brand well. The place is clean and bright. It's not too big, feels comfortable. The service was really good. Our server put up with us very politely when we made changes to our orders and had three kids who were not being very prompt in deciding and asking for what they wanted. What surprised me the most was the actual food. I expected it to be average to subpar, however my egg-white veggie omelette was actually really good! I asked for some turkey sausage on the side which, like most sausage, had enough salt to cause a mild heart attack but what else do you expect? This is the local IHOP in my neck of the woods. I don't usually tend to write review for big chains but I've been here enough over the years that I figure it's warranted. What I like about this IHOP in particular is the service. The owner is there quite often and ensures you always have a great experience. What impresses me the most though is that the many of the wait staff have been the same for over 4 years (since I moved to the area). That tells me a lot about how this location is run and it results in quick and efficient service. They have a few weekday specials that are excellent prices for breakfast in the morning. My preference consists of 2 eggs, bacon or sausage and 2 pancakes for $4.99. That's hard to beat. Best IHOP around! read more

I'm not usually a fan of iHop, but the commercials for the All You Can Eat Pancakes drew me in (pregnant). I specifically checked Yelp for the highest rated location, and we came to this location because of the four stars. This location was clean and the service was friendly and pretty quick for iHop. One thing I will say is that when we walked in there was no one manning the hostess stand, but the cashier was at the register with no one to help. She did not bother to look up or greet us as we stood (kind of awkwardly) waiting for someone to greet us and take us to a table. I understand she may have been trying to work out something on the register, but a quick "hello, someone will be right with you" would have been an appropriate thing to say considering how long we stood waiting. read more

Great food, and nearly always terrific service. We liked it here so much we had to stop coming so often because of what it was costing. We ask to be seated in Von's or Robin's section. There was a publicity stunt in 2018 about a name change to "iHoB"--the "B" to stand for "burgers" instead of the "P" for pancakes. The burgers are good, however, better than most pubs. Kids eat free or very cheap if you go the right night of the week. A number of reviewers complain about the smell being off. We just walked out of this Johnson Road location. We eat there last Wednesday and the food was great. Server acted like we were a nuisance like she was on a treadmill. Half filled coffee pot, had to ask for silverware, throw items on the table and practically run away. Decided to go again this morning and we were pointed to a table and left for twenty minutes. We watched one server clean tables and serve tables next to us but never acknowledge our presence. Watched one guy checking his cell phone and then propping up on hostess stand. Several times we they looked at us and we thought finally. At least three other tables were seated and served while we sat there. Appeared to be regular customers. We will never qualify for that standing because we can do better. After 20 minutes we walked past we two servers propped up on the hostess stand and I ungraciously returned the menus on the way out.
