I kept telling myself that I would eventually grab a slice of pizza from Vintage Pizzeria, given that it's in the name of the restaurant. However, since I'm not the biggest pizza guy I never got that slice, but for the record, their pizza always looked pretty good every time I saw one pass by. I found Vintage Pizzeria to be my local spot in Dunwoody for some casual Italian food. There is certainly a couple of different options, but I found this place to be the one where I visit where I don't need to prep myself to go. The atmosphere is bright and lively, a good spot for families. Even when I visit late on a Saturday, there are still a good amount of people. The menu primarily consists of pizzas and pastas. This place made me fall in love with the chicken piccata. They serve this dish with a giant bowl of pasta and usually, two nicely pounded chicken breasts. The batter on it is nice and eggy and the lemon flavor tends to have good balance. I will say, there are a few issues with consistency. For example, one time the egg wash almost came off like scrambled eggs, the flavor can sometimes get too lemony, and I'm convinced one visit left me with a stomach ache. More times than not, I enjoy the meal though. I've also had their chicken parmesan and that was fantastic. The crust was crispy, the chicken was tender and the pasta was cooked perfectly. All of their pastas come with a giant bowl of salad, so their slightly above average price feels worth it. Overall, simply a very solid and comfortable place to visit. If you have family over, take them out for some pizza here. They've got good deals, nice people, and solid food. All in all, it makes for a good experience! read more

Went for lunch on a Tuesday. Had gone on Monday to try it out, but they are closed on Mondays! Anyways, went there to see about a lunch for several people and wanted to talk to someone about setting it up. Since I got there right when they opened at 11:30, it wasn't too busy. There was already a few tables occupied. I had looked at the menu before getting there and had an idea of what I would get. Friends have gone here on a regular basis and said they would reccommend for our group. I ended up getting a slice of pizza and small salad, which is a lunch special. Normally, 1 item is included in the special, but I ordered 2. Got the salad first, which is iceberg lettuce, onions and green peppers, cherry tomatoes and cucumbers with their house vinegratte dressing. Was almost finished with the salad and the slice of pizza came. That was a huge slice!!! I'm surprised I ate it all, but it tasted pretty good. Generous with the toppings and the cheese on a thin crust. I found out later, that some folks will ask that the slice be cut in half and they eat one half and take the other half home. I decided to order the lasagna to take home. The lasagna comes with 2 pieces of garlic toast and a small house salad. I didn't realize until I got home how big the lasagna order was. They are definitely generous with the portions! Can easily order 1 order share it with another person, or have it for at least 2 meals. I came here for dinner with a couple friends yesterday and we mostly enjoyed it. Service could have been better but our waiter was friendly. First, if I remember right my one friend asked for extra ranch on the side and the other asked for jalapeño ranch. The jalapeño ranch was put on my plate when they brought it out so I didn't know if this had to do with my sub or not (couldn't tell what the sauce was.) The runner was not our waiter. That was also the only sauce brought out, so my other friend had to request regular ranch again. I also had to specifically ask for ketchup. If you serve fries with your sandwiches why not just leave that at each table? Our waiter did not come by to check on us much and then I had to work hard to flag him down for the check after we waited for a while. I asked him for a box and then he brought the box and never came back again? That was kind of ridiculous honestly. If I ask you for a box you should also bring the check soon. Not disappear for 20 minutes. But anyways... Other than that, it was good! I really enjoyed the chicken parm sub and my friends liked the cheesesteak pizza. The fries were alright but need seasoning- it tasted like they didn't even have salt on them. We also had garlic bread as an appetizer and that was good. The prices here were reasonable in my opinion. We had no issues finding a parking spot. Vibes inside were decent. I liked our booth that we sat at. The decor could use a little work, the inside looked a little dark/dreary. My friends and I will probably be back because it is very close by and because the food was pretty good but knowing our experience and seeing the other reviews- I really hope this place can get it together when it comes to service. read more

Just moved to the area and I'm always on the hunt for good Neapolitan pizza. This place is pretty close to my neighborhood and got a 4.5 rating on Google, so I gave it a shot and ordered take-out one night. All I could think of upon taking my first bite was Kevin from The Office describing Pizza by Alfredo as "a hot circle of garbage." This was that. I can barely boil water, but I've bought pre-made dough and jarred sauce from Publix and threw a pizza together at home that tasted WAY better than this. No exaggeration. The coworkers really know a good lunch spot! Love their slice & salad deal with the large portions: 1 topping of a giant slice and a small salad. I had the Canadian bacon pizza with a caesar salad for around 10 bucks. The caesar salad was fairly large for a "small." I'm partial to a good caesar, and this place had good ratios of shaved parmesan, croutons, and dressing. Definitely a pretty premium salad. The pizza was pretty sizable with a thin crust. Though it wasn't anything amazing, it was tasty. I'd say it was pretty comparable to a NY slice. Though my manager said it was good, she preferred another spot near her place. I was overall pretty pleased with the quality and portion and so were my other coworkers. I think primarily the reason for my 4 star review is the slice & salad deal as it's rare for a spot to offer a slice of quality pizza. This feels like true confessions. I'm from Boston where pizza is consistently well made. I live in Atlanta half the year. That said, I've tried a couple dozen places around here and cannot find a really good pizza. And they are expensive!! I paid over $40 today for a large Vintage Pizza. The toppings were okay though I would have rather sausage than ham as one of the toppings. The toppings were undercooked; actually the whole pie was undercooked. There was hardly any cheese on the pizza. My biggest issue is the crust. It was soft and doughy. Crust should be a slightly oily on the bottom and crispy. Spray a little olive oil on the pizza pan and on top of the pizza to give it flavor and a crispy texture. Very disappointing. There are other ethnic restaurants that are very good in Atlanta: Peruvian, Malaysian, Persian, Mexican. But I cannot find a decent pizza. read more

I'm literally always craving pasta and pizza. So once again, we were off to check out a pizza spot close to home. Vintage Pizzeria is located in the heart of Dunwoody. They've got some lunch specials that are pretty hard to beat! A giant one topping pizza slice with a salad and drink for $8.50! We each got a slice of pizza and a Caesar salad, and since I was really craving red sauce, per usual, we split a side of spaghetti for $3.95. I love a place that offers spaghetti and tomato sauce as a side. Everything tasted fine! Nothing mind blowing but easily finished my pizza and spaghetti. Service was fine - our lunch didn't take too long. We did sit for a while waiting for a server to get to our table after we were seated. The meatball sub is excellent. Fresh soft bread with 2-3 in great meatballs, soft, flavorful. They have an excellent caesar dressing.

Been here twice. First time, got an italian sub and a side of pasta. Everything was really good. Fries are standard with the sub, and while they're thicker, almost steak fries that I think are fairly boring, they're cooked really well. I liked it. This time around, I got a supreme pizza, lasagna, that came with a salad. The Lasagna was... eh? It's in a container that's too big for it, and it had drifted apart. The tomato sauce was good, but I didn't really get any cheesiness inside the lasagna at all. There's mozzarella on top, but because it's drifted so badly the bites are very uneven. The Caesar Salad I got was non descript, although 2 ounces of dressing is maybe not enough for it. Good quality croutons and cheese though. The Pizza is also strange. For some reason, a large is cut into six pieces. They claim to be New Jersey style. I am from New Jersey and have been to my share of Jersey pizza places. I have never, not once, seen a to go pie cut into six pieces. The pizza tastes fine, but there was a fragment of bone of some kind in one of my slices. So that was nice. Price is about what you expect these days, so it's not cheap. Overall, the first trip was an easy 5 stars, while the second order was maybe a 3 star. I met some with some family down at Vintage Pizza / Vintage Pizzeria. By the time I arrived, they'd already gotten drinks, but even though it was the middle of dinner rush, our waitress, Katelyn, came right over and took my drink order. Drinks and later appetizers arrived quickly. The garlic bread was very good. The pizza was fantastic, and we continued to get excellent table service throughout the night. We always always love going to Vintage Pizzeria in Dunwoody. I have two small kids who are not the best at sitting still but I KNOW that when we go to Vintage it doesn't matter. There is an entire "kid/family" side of the restaurant where the kids can write on the chalkboard wall, watch a TV show, etc. There are other kids doing the same so if my kids are loud, it's okay! I feel "seen"! The staff (our favorite is Sean) is so patient, so friendly and so kind. The food is also beyond delicious- the pizza, the spaghetti and meatballs, etc. I just feel relaxed and at ease when I eat there with my family and it's amazing. Highly recommend! read more

We ordered Vintage pizza for a pre thanksgiving get together. Preordered online for pickup at 630 for 7 pm party. The order was accepted and confirmed by email. We get there and the lady at the counter initially gives us the wrong order. And then upon return to the counter says they have no order for us. After showing the confirmation email she rudely tells us that they don't have the order and we can just cancel and leave. We ask to speak to the manager and wait for another 10-15 minutes with no one coming to let us know what is going on. Absolutely no customer service skills. When we ask for timeline of when the pizza will be done she again loudly tells us we can cancel our order and leave. 730 the order is ready and she literally dumped 5 pizzas in my fathers hands before he was even ready and walked away. I will never give this place my business again because clearly the manager has no leadership skills to come out and address the issue and the staff is rude. Onto the food. I have had vintage before and the pizza was good. This pizza was salty and did not taste like it just came out of the oven.
