The worst food and service I've ever experienced. We had a table of 6 last night... it was a Friday night around 8:30pm. Not busy at all, no wait, plenty of open tables & an abundance of servers. We waited 10 mins to even be acknowledged. Drinks took 20 mins to come out. Food took 40 mins to come out and we ordered for the table their Nachos with chicken & 8 wings. The nachos had no chicken, chips were burnt, and they were so bad to the point the server took them off our tab. The wings were microwaved & nasty. Our server never checked on us, we actually had to go find her twice just to get us our checks! No water/drink refills for the hour we had to sit there and suffer. Probably the worst service and food I've ever had in a restaurant .... I'd never recommend this location. we've had better service at the strawbridge location! read more

A couple of reasons I rate this restaurant 5 stars: 1. Food and service are excellent ~ I have never had a bad meal here! 2. I recently left the restaurant not knowing my wallet had dropped out of my back pocket while I dined. Upon my departure, the staff found it, safeguarded it, and had it waiting for me at the hostess' counter. The amazing thing about this was that ALL of my wallet contents were still within! Simply amazing! In summary, my experience with this particular Chicho's has revalidated my faith in society! Thank God we have honest people dedicating their lives serving our great city! Stopped in as we were walking on the boardwalk. Ordered a 10" pizza and "fry flight". 1) asked server (Lia) what our sauce choices were. "I don't know, anything... ranch, boom boom sauce..." Asked what boom boom sauce was - no idea. Asked what "dirty sauce" was - no idea, and you can't get that it's for wings. Asked if they had sweet and spicy - I don't think so. Ok... ordered ranch, thousand and boom boom (with no idea what we would get). She came back and said, oh you CAN get ANY wing sauce, but NOT boom boom. Ok... ranch, island, dirty (no clue what that was). 2) Pizza comes out first. Sausage was gross. Very few toppings. Crust was very soft. 3) Finished pizza and still waiting for fries! Waitress never came over. 4) Fries FINALLY come out. It's a basket of underseasoned fries with 4 plastic take out cups of sauce. Got ranch, thousand, island (which WAS sweet and spicy), and dirty which tasted like I'd imagine death tastes like. Do not recommend. 5) Waitress disappears again. Dirty dishes from pizza still on table. No drink refill. Not even, are you guys doing ok? 6) She FINALLY reappears. "Are you ordering anything else?" Like we were inconveniencing her by eating our food! 7) Bill comes and there's not only the REQUIRED 18% "service charge" that was posted AFTER you're in the restaurant but also ANOTHER SERVICE CHARGE. Just 69¢ but still! Needless to say she did not earn her $4.14 tip. I'm all for waitstaff earning a living wage but not only was she phoning it in, but she wasn't even doing that well! To sum up: Food Service ZERO Location & view Food total $23 Tax/tip/service charge $7.48 Needless to say we DID NOT leave an additional tip. read more

If you are a local who has been coming to this CHICHOS (now known as "chos" because of "rebranding") DONT WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY. They no longer serve large pizzas and only sell 10" personal pizza that basically only feeds one kid. They messed up our order, which also took about an hour to come out. OH and dont forget the 18% gratuity thats automatically added on your check no matter how many people. Honestly at a loss for words. I did a to go order ordered wings, loaded fries, wrap and kids quesadillas. We were hungry wanted to try everything in a small amount. The wings didnt come with no ranch nor blue cheese it was a bit dry crunchy 7/10 not wow but okay. Loaded fries was like a 5/10 , wrap was 9/10, kids quesadillas 8/10. Two Stars I'm a local who lives just down the street, and I brought my out-of-town family to the Oceanfront for a few drinks. We went to the outside bar, but since there was no seating there, we walked over to an area with plenty of open tables. A young lady told us there was an hour wait--even though there was nobody else waiting and many empty tables. We spoke with the manager, who explained they use a phone waitlist and call each individual, giving them five minutes to show up. This made no sense at all. We were paying customers only looking for drinks, and we even understood the kitchen was a bit behind, so we weren't ordering food. Still, we were turned away. I was very disappointed with how we were treated by both the hostess and the manager. Turning away ready-to-pay customers in favor of people who may or may not show up is bad business. We decided to leave, and it left a sour taste for the evening. Very disappointed overall. read more

Let me preface this by saying there was not a single meal that my family and I enjoyed while visiting Virginia Beach. So, after a long day in the summer sun, we figured we would try Chicho's since it was attached to our hotel (Hampton Inn Oceanfront South). We had low expectations given our other disappointing dining experiences and also because it was the hotel restaurant, which usually means the food is overpriced and underwhelming. Fortunately, that was NOT the case. We opted to order pizza slices (about $3 each) instead of ordering a full pie to share. We also ordered wings and sweet tea. Everything was delicious. For me, the tomato sauce on the pizza was pretty spicy. It didn't bother me at first but built up over time so I wasn't inclined to continue eating it. Everyone else seemed to enjoy it though. Our server was efficient even though it seemed like she was working alone. For a Monday afternoon, there wasn't much of a crowd at all. Yummy experience overall. Thank you, Chicho's. read more

It took awhile to get waited on. The nachos were good. The wings were good. The pizza was nasty.

Service sucked. We came in the door where there was a small line. The first person in line was a delivery driver awaiting food. The next were people awaiting to be sat. Then, us. We waiting there without even a look in our direction that would indicate we were looking to dine in. A few waitress walked by. The bartender glanced at us plenty. About ten minutes went by and the people in front of us left and we finally did, too. I felt bad for the delivery driver awaiting someone's order there! I'm local. I am kind of shocked this place doesn't have more reviews... maybe it's newer to this location as I know it has one on 29th street too. We did take out vs sit in so this is purely based off food and front ladies at the check in area. They were great, answered questions quickly and super friendly. Only had time to snap one pic but even for a 10"in pizza this this was filling and so good. We also got a regular cheese pizza (large), lumpia and a Caesar salad wrap. Everyone enjoyed ! Finally got the sodas and they just didn't taste right. When another 25 minutes went by and the shrimp finally showed up, she asked my husband if he wanted a refill on the Pepsi - she did not tell us they served Pepsi when we ordered cherry coke. The shrimp were overcooked, not burnt, but tough and dry. Saw very little of our waitress. Yet, an 18% gratuity is automatically added to the bill. My family and I celebrated the new year on the oceanfront. Because there are limited things to do, we made the most out of ending a roller coaster of a year and bringing in a promising 2021. We stayed at the Hampton Inn for a few days and noticed Chicho's was the featured restaurant inside of the hotel. We had no clue... but this was a great surprise. Babe already knew he wanted pizza and wings at some point during our stay. Well we visited Thursday night and sat near the bar. The crowd was light, but everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves despite the restrictions of the state and drinks being collected at 10pm. The bartender took our drink order as well as the food order. We started with salads and I opted for a juicy burger, babe, he ordered a small pizza. I wanted pizza too, so he agreed to share with me. He is the best. So glad he didn't want any of my burger. The drinks arrived... tasting refreshing with a couple of waters. Our salads arrived next! Everything was perfect! I had a special order salad and it was picture perfect! Heck, the salad was so yummy without the dressing but I tasted the dressing anyway because all balasmic dressings are not created equal. So, I think we finished our salads in record time... maybe 5 minutes tops and it was a good size portion. Our main courses arrived right on time. We pushed back our bowls, took a sip of our beverage and it was time to dive in! My burger was sooo good!! I could only stomach two small bites, because I had to save room for some pizza. I finished it the nex time... still yumm! The pizza was on point. You gotta get the spicy marinara sauce at least and then add any toppings you want. We had such a great experience we returned for lunch on New Year's Day!! We shared pizza and wings! The pizza was on point again!! And the wings!!! Cooked to perfection!! Old Bay was the finish. And come to think about it, I didn't even tell him to fry the wings hard... definitely try the wings!! If you are a guest at the hotel show the server your room key for a percentage off your meal. There is a parking lot attached to the hotel. And dedicated parking spaces are available for Chicho's guest. This is my third dining experience at Chicho's in the area, and they all have been a pleasure. I highly recommend you try them. Steak sandwiches with fries are really good, plenty of portion if you ask for extra. It is convenient because we usually stay at Hampton Inn, so it is below us. The only thing I would suggest is being more responsive if customers select the option for text updates. I selected it each time I ordered but didn't receive updates. We sat outside and the waitress was not friendly or inviting. I asked for the buffalo chicken dip and she said they haven't made it yet, and they wouldn't be making it this early. I found this place by walking by it - not by Yelp. The outdoor wait was 15 min on a Friday night at 8:00. The host staff was nice and accommodating. The service was good and the beers were reasonably priced. Everyone in my group raved about their pizzas (also reasonably priced) and there was enough to take some home. Spicy marinara is where it's at. They have good (loud) pop music outside that makes it fun for group atmospheres. If I'm back in Virginia Beach, I'll be back here again.
