Nothings better than a good pizza! The Wake Forest location has been frequented by me and my family for years and the quality of the product has never faltered. The kitchen you can look into offers a view of the cooking process of the employees. The atmosphere and staff are always great and cheerful. Cleanliness is never an issue and the specials for lunch are awesome for the price. I only wish they were everyday and not just weekdays. The menu and beverage list are great and offer a different experience everytime you go, unless you get stuck on one item that's just too good to pass up. Unfortunately the only downpoint I have with this restaurant is its inconsistent wait times for your food. Seating is always quick but once you put your order in it could be 15 minutes are 45. I prefer 15 but can understand at times that you can only cook so fast depending on your capacity. Overall I will continue to frequent the Mellow Mushroom, I just prefer lunch hours over dinner. read more

The pizza was super delicious. The only reason we are giving it 3 star is because it's super expensive. The large pizza is $24, add the tax to that and it's close to $30 bucks. i went to mmwf tonight for dinner and it was amazing! We were promptly greeted by our server Laura. She introduced herself and asked if we were new guests or returning. We told her we have dined before and she thanked us for our patronage. We had the pretzel bites she had recommended. The manager Hannah brought them to our table and introduced her as the manager on duty and asked us if we needed anything. It was nice to see a manager engaged especially because it was getting busy. The holy shiitake pizza was amazing and we will definitely order again. I had the purple haze drink which was delicious and my husband had a 420. Laura was taking care of a large table as well yet never skipped a beat. We really need to save room for dessert next time because the cookies looked amazing! My Wife and I went here for a quick saturday afternoon dinner. We got the oven roasted wing to start with. They are actually very good, they are tender and juicy and not breaded. (Wife hates breaded wings) Then we got a medium house special pizza which was ahhh....just ok honestly. It wasn't bad but we have had better pizza before. It seems to just lack the flavor I was looking for. Plus it was a little pricey. The service wasn't bad either the waitresses was nice and always checked on us. Not being from the area, this was my first visit to Mellow Mushroom. It was highly recommended by friends who had visited before, so I thought I would give it a shot. Although the parking lot indicated a packed restaurant, I was greeted and seated immediately by a friendly waiter. My meal of choice was a sausage and pepperoni calzone with a drink. Mello Yello of course! The "small" calzone was huge! About the size of an 8" dinner plate, and delicious. The food was hot, and the Mellow Dough was soft and chewy. The bill was a shocker, but not in the way you might think. It was fairly cheap! All this food and a drink for only $13. The waiter checked on me frequently and made sure I had enough to drink and ensuring the food was satisfactory. 5/5 will visit again if I'm in the area!! read more

I used to love coming here for lunch and it is obvious how far the quality has fallen off in the past few years. I was in there today for lunch and sat at the bar and just in the time that I was there was able to see how thin the bartender and wait staff was overstretched. The bartender promptly greeted me and poured my drink and let me know that she would be with me to get my food order in just a few minutes. In that time, I saw her take a very large party on the patio as well as multiple other tables, while also answering the phones. She was also helping a fairly new server figure out questions he had while tending to the large tables order and her guests at the bar. She is always wonderful whenever I come in and handles everything well, but it's evident the staff in general is stretched too thin and doesn't have support. I don't typically see the manager, so I don't know if they simply aren't there or is just not involved enough in the day to day runnings of the restaurant. I do not know if there is new management or just a newer staff in general but it is unreasonable to expect so much out of the staff and expect them to still provide good service to their own customers, which they do! And that is the only reason that I continue to visit this restaurant. Typical mellow mushroom food which is pretty good. Service is awful. Friday night 8 pm, 2 salads and a pizza. 35 mins and no food. Do not recommend unless you want to hangout and drink. If you have kids, definitely go elsewhere. read more

My family and I love Mellow Mushroom. They have a great beer selection. The spinach artichoke dip is amazing, especially when you add bacon to it. My favorite pizza is the Maui Wowie, it's not on the menu anymore but if you ask they'll still make it for you which is a huge plus for me! read more

Went in for lunch and decided against the buffet for lack of pizza. Started with cheese bread and it had a piece of black " foreign matter " on it. Pizza was excellent but went through 7 sets of dirty silverware before the manager personally went and washed some for us. We vowed to never visit this location again, but we decided to give it one more chance after a long break. But just as before, the service was so... SLOW without any noticeable reason. There was no wait upon our arrival, and only six tables were occupied. To make matters worse, several staff members were smoking just outside the rear exit door causing cigarette smoke to enter the restaurant each time the door opened and closed. Our $100 meal was ok, the service was blah, and the atmosphere was unpleasant. I gave them an extra star only because the balloon artist that was rotating from table to table was humorous and thoughtful. This is one of my favorite places to eat. We love to sit outside when the weather is nice. My kids can run around and get their energy out and we can sit and enjoy our cocktails. The Wake Forest location is my absolute favorite. From the moment you walk in the door to the time you leave you are taken care of by an excellent staff. I have been to other locations, and there's something about the atmosphere that always makes me come back to this one. I live right down the road from the Raleigh location and I would rather drive the distance to Wake Forest. That just shows that management is doing something different over there. Very positive. The food is always amazing and I have never had anything I did not enjoy. This is by far my favorite place to go to get good quality food and be served by an awesome staff. If you haven't had the opportunity to go to this location, please do. They are definitely utilizing Service Based Leadership within their management team!! Great job!! read more

Been to this location multiple times and have never had a pleasant expeirence. We keep saying we're never coming back but we crave mellow pizza and always give in and are hopeful it'll be different. Customer service is always subpar, our order has NEVER come out the right the first time. We've even had our order come out wrong 2 times in a row. We're never asking for much, just no onions but that seems to be a tough task. We love Mellow Mushroom, I even used to be a sever at a different location, but this one really seems to struggle. read more

Ok, it might have been an off night!? I love the ingredients fresh for sure but the pizza lacked flavor asked for extra sauce and the crust even tasted a bit too sweet. Needs a kick! Everything seemed cooked properly, as far as nothing burnt.... The Greek salad was ok but the dressing was a bit heavy for my liking. As far as the service goes the sever was a bit slow but seemed to do the best he could since the place was packed and we were literally the furthest table from the kitchen. Not a big deal since he had a personality none of the customers, myself included, seemed to mind. They however get a plus for the food being nice and hot though! The outdoor seating was pleasant! Dined here on a weekday afternoon on the huge outdoor patio. I can't speak for the decor or vibe inside but outside was nice, albeit a little noisy from Main Street. The table and chairs are hard metal but the pizza was hot and the ingredients tasted fresh. Server was friendly and attentive. First time that I've ever been disappointed w Mellow Mushroom's pizza. It's a big one today though. I ordered a large specialty and a small one topping (small was free w coupon). $25 for that large. BOTH are BURNT on the bottom. Tastes burnt and crust is more hard/chewy than soft. Good staff at this chain location, the pizza is reliably good well cooked and prompt. So many options for pizza you could get dizzy. The beer selection is good and changes to seasonal and specialty fairly frequently. They used to have a fantastic loyalty beer drinkers program which was stopped by abc and that's a shame! Staff are all polite and a bit hippy but in a good way! You most often won't get a bad pizza here! read more
