Hannah was a most compassionate, empathetic and kind manager who embodied the friendly, relaxed, and hip Mellow Mushroom vibe VERY well when I called. Ashley S. was an AMAZING server - attentive, welcoming, helpful, the works! Food was PHENOMENAL! My husband and I shared a Pretzel Bites, Enlightened Spinach Salad, Kosmic Karma Pizza, and Triple Chocolate Chip Cookie Sundae for dessert! (It was a birthday dinner that EXCEEDED my expectations!!) Tremendous! They even gave me a "happy birthday pretzel dessert" to celebrate too! I wholeheartedly recommend Mellow Mushroom and will be back! Hey consistently tasty neighborhood spot in Wake Forest. Love the Caesar salad and any or all of their pizzas.

"Nick" was an attentive server with good recommendations and was relaxed about us finishing our meal after closing time.

We have not eaten in the restaurant but order take regularly. The pizza is wonderful, and we plan to order about every 2 weeks. The gf pizza is very tasty. Thanks for a good balance of cheese, sauce & toppings. read more

My husband and I had lunch there today. The atmosphere was nice and the service good. I had pizza which was good, but unfortunately my husband ordered the chicken wings. He liked the way they were cooked but for the price we expected jumbo or at least large wings. The wings he received were the smallest we have ever seen. You barely got one bite out of each. The service at this location was awesome. I felt welcome from the time I walked in and truly liked this location. The waiter was very responsive and knowledgeable regarding the menu. When my dish came out it looked absolutely delicious. I ordered the Philly Steak Calzone and my wife ordered a medium cheese pizza. The calzone itself looked really good however the bottom crust was entirely TOO HARD. I asked for a better knife to cut it however they just decide to cut it for me with a pizza knife. It tasted great My wife's cheese pizza was not worth the money. It was more sauce on the pizza than cheese and she ended up eating some of my calzone. I'm certain the homeless man enjoyed the pizza on the way home. Lastly is the Margarita. They have one of then best margaritas I've had in the triangle and believe me I've had plenty. I am thrilled to now be able to order a gluten-free pizza and have it delivered for an occasional treat! Note: I am highly gluten sensitive but do not have celiac disease. The pizza was delivered fast (tho I live very close) and hot. I have also ordered salad - just the romaine lettuce base and cucumbers- and have been very pleased with how super green and fresh the lettuce and cucumbers have been each time. Pizza is below average compared to local Mom and Pop pizzerias. We stopped in for lunch and ordered a simple pepperoni pizza. The ronni was thick and the pie had that weird "cheap pizza flavor" to it... if you know what I mean. On a positive note, the crust was pretty good.. different but good. If we do stop in again, we'll try a specialty pizza or a sandwich. The price was a little high though, medium 1 topping $16.00 and the service was under par. PS :) if you are looking for a NY style pizza or Italian dish, go to Pie-Zanos on Main Street in Rolesville, I guarantee you'll leave happy. We've been here a couple of times. It's pretty consistent which is nice. I've ordered salads a few times all of which were good. I like the spinach one the best. Once we ordered the humus app and it came with a toast bread rather than pita type. When we asked about it the waiter offered us pizza bread triangles which works much better. My husband has had a burger and says it was good. No complaints. The kids have had different items from the kids menu their favorite being the French bread pizza and the soft pretzel app. Last visit we actually order a pizza. We shared a pie with mixed toppings. Half veggies half meats. I think it was a whole wheat crust which we aren't used to but it was ok. Not sure if it's the cheese mix or sauce but it was missing something. Came in to pick up an online order the night of Memorial Day. The restaurant was not busy. I and several delivery drivers stood around for 5-10 minutes waiting for a host/hostess to appear. One never did. Finally, I went to the back of the restaurant and flagged down one of the two teenage girls who I assumed were responsible for the front. At the time they were chitchatting with one of the cooks behind the window. I gave them my name and went back to the front of the restaurant expecting one of them to follow with my order. That didn't happen. Another 15 minutes went by while they flitted between the front and back, handing over other orders, folding napkins, talking some more, etc. Not a word to me to say it would be a minute, or they had misplaced my order, or someone else had walked off with it. Nothing. Finally one of them came out with my pizza and gave it to me. Not a peep beyond a meek "thank you." No, "sorry for the wait." Nothing. And, as I could have predicted, by the time I got home both the pizza and wings were stone cold and the salad was missing its dressing. I understand that serving/hosting jobs are good for high school kids, but there has to be an adult somewhere nearby to step in and show them how it's done. We have ordered from this location multiple times. The food is good and usually prepared accurately. We will not be returning however due to the absolutely incompetent service. Our most recent curbside order was 1 hour late from the scheduled pickup time, and I ended up having to go inside the restaurant only to learn that my while my food had been ready for a few minutes, no one was preparing to deliver it curbside, despite multiple calls to check on the status and give our parking spot number. Unfortunately, this is all too common an experience here. We love mellow mushroom and want to support our local franchise, but the service is simply too poor to continue patronizing. Ridiculously expensive. That's the problem with this chain. The stuff tastes good but a family of four could eat at an outback for the same price. The theme appears to be stoned on mushrooms which is weird. The crust has a nice garlic butter coating on the pizzas. The calzones and Stromboli are good as well. i had a bad experience at this Mellow Mushroom location a few months ago and decided to give it another shot this afternoon. I requested a "crispy" crust because the last time the crust was super doughy and inedible. This time the crust seemed well done but was super dried out and flavorless. The crust underneath the pizza itself was paper thin. My dog seemed to enjoy it though when I accidentally dropped a sliver on the floor. For this price point I think Mellow Mushroom has a lot of work to do. Nothing against the staff as they have always seemed pleasant and efficient. Hopefully they can pull it together. Visited this location again last night with a friend and I felt an update was in order. They were fairly busy for a Saturday night so we did have about a 15-20 minute wait (which honestly, is not bad). We were sat close to the bar which gave us a great view of the UNC v DUKE game (which we didn't realize was even on until the end of the meal when the patrons at the bar started yelling and screaming). Our waiter was fantastic, he was swamped co-manning the bar and taking care of tables, so given that it was busy I'd say he was as attentive as he could be. I was a little disappointed that my order of hummus took longer to come out than my friend's garlic bread -- unless they were making the hummus fresh from scratch back there (which I'm not entirely sure if they do or not) I was hoping we could have eaten our appetizers together instead of separate. I had ordered the Kosmic Karma pizza which was amazing and my friend ordered the Hawaiian. Unfortunately for my friend, her pizza was burnt on the bottom and did not taste great. She was a trooper and tried her best to eat it but after a slice and a half she couldn't take it. I called our waiter over and before I could finish explaining he took one look at the pizza and said "It's burnt! I'll get you a new one!" 10 minutes later out comes a new Hawaiian pizza. If you notice, I'm not changing my star rating for the sheer fact of how fantastic our waiter was. I've been coming to merlo mushroom for years. Always a decent pizza. Last visit to wake forest, nc location will be the last. Ordered 2 gluten free pizzas as well as original. Price for gluten free is out of sight at $15 and pizza was nothing more than an overcooked piece of cardboard. Cohen I said something the response was shouldn't have ordered gluten free. My response was should take that offering off the menu because if you can't or don't care to offer a quality product then don't serve it. Unreal So we go to get two pizzas with a coupon. Granted I misread the coupon. But I had another coupon for 40 percent off but I was told I could not use it because the " computer was down" ( how are people paying ?). A normal manager would have pulled out a calculator and write up a manual ticket. So let's tally it up. The two pizzas that were in the oven, the money we would have spent there, our future business and a bad review. I worked at red lobster 4 years back in the day. As a chain restaurant this place is superb. The service is excellent as is the food. I recommend the tofu hoagie in particular in combination with the caesar salad.
