We stopped in for some milkshakes during a day touring Salem. We were blown away by the quantity of choices of gluten-free options. Two of us tried the salted caramel with brownies. It was excellent! For such a well-reviewed location, my expectations were high and a little let down. The homemade waffle cone was the high and had the Nutella banana with peanut butter cups flavor, which only ok. A lot of interesting flavor choices but unfortunately no samples due to covid. If you're visiting during October, expect a very long wait. read more

Ice cream is ok. It's the service that makes it bad. One worker messed up my order and told me that I ordered wrong and refused to fix it. Which was a lie! It was such a simple order and fixing it when there was barely a line should not have been a problem. Horrible. read more

I'd heard rumors about a buttered popcorn ice cream available now at Melt and frankly, didn't believe they could pull it off and boy, was I wrong! You wouldn't think that would make for great ice cream but it was so good. Tasted like a creamy buttery popcorn ice cream. Amazed they were able to pull something so different off! We also got a scoop of the banana nutella and that was also delicious. I loved the list of rotating flavors and saw one made with potato chips that will definitely result in another visit for a scoop of that and maybe two scoops of the buttered popcorn. Yum. Good location, really interesting assortment of ice creams and good prices for the quality. You should stop in when visiting Salem for something unique! read more

Best ice cream I have had south of Mount Desert Icecream. Fun flavors, really rich and creamy. Their Caramel Sea Salt Brownie is the best icecream I have ever had, but I am partial to caramel. The ice cream here is delicious! They let you sample the flavours before you decide and they have some pretty cool rotating ones. I got the chamomile chardonnay and chocolate, it didn't taste too much like chamomile but it was tasty. The chocolate was above average in my opinion. Overpriced and grainy. Staff was super friendly, but out of 5 flavors we tried, each one was grainy and bland. Bubble gum surprise was the least egregious tasting but definitely the most grainy. All the chocolate chips were made with taza which tasted like absolute nothing. The chocolate ice cream tasted like hot cocoa mix. Not worth it. read more

Not sure if we just came on a bad day but this was the worst ice cream experience we've ever had. My order was for two scoops of the banana nutella with peanut butter chips in a waffle bowl. I think I saw the server scraping down the bucket for my order but the result was horrible. While the waffle bowl was tasty, the ice cream tasted of neither Nutella nor banana (it was some weird, vaguely chocolate flavor) and in the two scoops, I had two and a half small peanut butter chips. Although I'm usually one to finish even mediocre ice cream, I threw most of this out. My companions fared slightly better but not enough to want to finish theirs either. I was really hoping to love this one but I couldn't even like it a little. read more

Ice cream places are easier to grade because it's ice cream and the customer service is usually spot on. Today we had the pleasure of having a new kid who was nice. He was also lactose intolerant. He gave us a sample for about every flavor. We ended up choosing the salted Carmel, gluten free brownie and a half scoop of vanilla coconut vegan as well as maple bourbon. The maple bourbon was soft which was good. All the ice cream was good as I was not a huge fan of the coconut vanilla. The cost for the size of ice cream was a bit over priced. That's why it was not a 5 star joint in my opinion. I would come back here if I was here longer for the customer service. I would also like to see what new flavors they bring out every few weeks. read more

Just went to Melt today, asked to try their vegan ice cream, they said no due to Covid, and I asked if I could take the spoon outside to try it, and was still told no because they did not want to make exceptions. (I understand this fully, Covid is weird times for businesses.) I ended up getting the vegan chocolate coconut mint chip, and I have to say it was the worst vegan ice cream I've ever tasted. Ended up throwing it out after a few bites, if you're eating vegan, or dairy restricted, go somewhere else. read more

This was one of the few dessert places in Salem. It was a small shop with maybe 10 seats, but that's more than enough seats considering there aren't many people sitting around eating ice cream. The worker there was really nice and let me sample multiple flavors. I decided to go with the strawberry banana sorbet and it tasted like a frozen smoothie. I think the sorbet flavors are on rotation, but if you happen to go there when strawberry banana is the flav, def give it a try! read more

Never tried it before. It was alright. It was honestly expensive but it's sort of expected. The ice cream was alright. I don't think It's worth coming back unless they have a really interesting flavor. There's honestly a lot of other places in the area that are just as good and you get more for your dollar. I think this might be the best ice cream I have ever had! I was visiting during Halloween weekend and wanted a sweet treat. They lured me in with their sign of homemade ice cream. I am a sucker for homemade ice cream. I decided to order a waffle cup with two scoops. One scoop of salted caramel and another of maple bourbon. I like the maple bourbon the best. The staff was friendly, the place is very clean. There was a long line but the staff was organized and the line moved very quickly. If you are around you should check this place out. Don't let the line discourage you, it moves quickly. The ice cream is worth the wait! read more

The salted caramel ice cream with sea salt brownies is to die for. The taste of the ice cream is very similar to Werther's caramel candies and the brownies taste fresh and homemade. I got atomic coffee and nutty almond. Not very strong coffee flavor but very creamy! Nutty almond has rich almond flavor with a hint of salty caramel. Both are super creamy which is a must for me! Way better than Richardson's and Captain Dusty's. read more

I'm, a big fan of the salty/sweet combo and boy did I find that here. While visiting Salem on spring break, our small group stopped in for a little pick me up. A ton of things in Salem are closed on Mondays but thank god this wasn't one of them. I ordered a single scoop of the Salted caramel brownie ice cream and was taken to another level of tastiness. There were HUGE chunks of brownies scattered in the luxe folds of caramel and sea salt. Seriously, I can't get this place out of my head! This was probably the best part about Salem and I'd say it's worth the stop if you are in town. read more

The menu is easy to order from and highly traditional. It's simple and delicious. The packaging of the boba is cute too . The film over the plastic boba cup has cherries on top . It's too cute. Now to the reason we came in. It's boba sippin time. Let's take that first sip and sit . Let it resonate! It's truly amazing. Awww feel the milk tea working as it's evokes its magic and recreate our inner love to keep going . We still have so much to go see . Now that we have new fuel and a kick in our step let's get back to fun and enjoy the rest of the day. It's a short and simple little wording for this boba establishment. Thank you to the business and crew for making our visit special and memorable.

Most of the time we had to flag someone down for drink refills, order more oysters, ask for Parmesan cheese, or even leave our credit card hanging off the edge of the table before someone would notice we were ready to pay. Now, onto the food because that's what kept bringing us back. The clam chowder and lobster bisque were the true stars of the menu. These are the kinds of soups you'll still be thinking about long after your vacation is over. The lobster bisque was unbelievably rich, creamy, and packed with generous pieces of lobster. The clam chowder had the perfect consistency and, unlike so many others, was loaded with tender clams instead of mostly potatoes. The one-and-a-half-pound lobster was sweet, tender, and practically melted in my mouth. I wasn't in love with my pasta dish. The scallops, however, completely stole the show. They tasted as though they had been pulled from the ocean just moments before being cooked perfectly fresh, sweet, and delicate. Unfortunately, the pasta itself was undercooked and lacked flavor, even after the Parmesan cheese finally arrived. The strawberry shortcake was the perfect dessert on a hot Fourth of July afternoon. It was light, fresh, and exactly what we wanted to finish the meal. And the oysters? Absolutely phenomenal. Every single day. They were consistently fresh, delicious, and one of the main reasons we kept coming back. While the service has plenty of room for improvement, the kitchen is doing something truly special. The quality of the seafood alone was enough to make us return day after day, and that's about the highest compliment I can give a restaurant.

It's a small coffee area and seemingly had no air conditioning, I was getting sweaty just standing around for the few short minutes it took to get my drink. I kept thinking the poor baristas must be so uncomfortable. Pricing was on the higher side ($9 and change including a tip for a medium ish sized specialty latte), but for such a touristy area I was (begrudgingly) expecting this. Overall I'd love to try it again, maybe next time getting the featured caramel apple drink that sounded good. Like a lot of places in Salem I experienced, it seems like they're just not super equipped for heat wave temperatures unfortunately.

We actually decided to tey this place as it was right next to the train station and it was the only coffee shop in the area that was actually open. Others didnt open till 9 or 10am. All the employees were super friendly and efficient. Everyone was very welcoming. Loved their decor and the vibes were just setting us up for a great day in Salem.
