If you call first, Meme can get your order started for you so you don't have to wait too long to get her wonderfully flavorful food which is made from scratch. If you're not in a hurry, you can wait at the picnic table outside or one of the small tables inside. There is no air conditioning except for fans so it may be a bit warm for some people. Meme is a sweet woman that won't mind telling you about the history of the building that has been in her family for some time. I was the first to arrive only a few minutes after opening and I had the pleasure of meeting MeMe. She told me about the history of the place, the food and her plans going forward. It really feels at home as the dining area is set in the back corner of a residential building. Shortly after I took a seat, several guests started pouring in, despite the onslaught of heavy rain at the time. This was a good sign on a Monday morning, with so much business, despite foul weather. My order was simple, the Reuben, but wow, this sandwich packed a punch! For starters, it was so large and filled with ingredients ("cheese," sauerkraut, vegan protein, sauce, etc.) that I did not trust myself eating it with my bare hands! I'm a messy enough eater as it is. The filling was very savory and a bit spicy, but I love my food to have a kick, so I was satisfied. I've had many vegan Reubens over the years, but this one was the most unique; clearly hand-crafted from scratch. I also had a flavored iced tea that was pretty epic as far as tea goes. Wow - this is some of the best vegan food I've ever had! The prices may seem a bit high at first glance, but the portions are very generous, and the food is all made fresh from scratch, plus you're supporting a local, Black woman owned business. Entrees also come with free juices! We got takeout and tried fried chicken (which automatically comes with sauteed greens and mac and cheese - it's not totally clear from the online menu that you don't have to add a side) and cauliflower "wings" with zucchini fries (basically, a whole delicious mess of breaded fried cauliflower and zucchini.) Everything was incredible: the fried veggies were delish, and vegan "chicken" crispy and well seasoned. But the standout dish was the mac and cheese. I have eaten vegan mac and cheese from dozens of places, and made my own. And this was the best: it's casserole style, with browned, melty "cheese" on top - reminds me of the dairy stuff my mom makes. Seriously, if the restaurant wasn't 100% vegan I would have thought they made a mistake and accidentally given me the dairy mac and cheese. I recommend calling first before your place your order to ensure they're open; the only way to order (as of Fall 2021) is online, and it looks like they'll accept orders any time, even when closed, and only give store credit if you order when they're not open. read more

Who knew we would find such good vegan food in Little Rock Arkansas. Driving through Little Rock on our to Memphis we had the opportunity to find a hidden gem of a vegan restaurant in Little rock. Mimi's potato twister is a restaurant in a house. When you first approach it you'll probably drive right past it the entrance is in the back around the corner on the side street booker. The owner of Mimi's is probably one of the warmest owners that I've interacted with in a long time. She is very passionate about her vegan food and about making things to order and fresh. She told us there will be no impossible burgers here. Suffice it to say, Mimi's is far from fast food. Each order took about 35 minutes for a pair at a table. It is worth the wait. We had the twisted potato as an appetizer and it was really good as was the dipping sauce. We also had some mango nectar which was very sweet. She also had apple water that you could help yourself to in the seating area. When our food arrived, it was hot and fresh. My husband got the chicken sandwich with a side of bok choy And I got their signature Rueben with a side of zucchini fries. It was all really good. I am a pickle person, and the bread and butter pickles which seem to be homemade were excellent as well. This place is a true hole in a wall. We drove by it and completely missed it at first. Now, the customer service is some of the best! This is also by far the BEST vegan spot we have ate at! She travels a lot and makes sure to stop at MeMe's when she can. That should tell you everything you need to know! I was certainly impressed that word of MeMe's had spread to vegans near and far. This included, apparently, Country Wayne who had been there the day before I visited. As we neared the door there were a few tables and chairs set up outside. Perfect for our date! We put our order in online and waited for them to bring it out to us. As we waited we were gifted a complimentary Twisted Potato. The fried potato spiral was good but the true star is Ms Meme's homemade vegan ranch. I believe I tasted notes of dill & horseradish. I'm not completely sure but it was divine! After 30-40 minutes, the rest of the food came out. We ordered the quesadilla and the cauliflower wings. The quesadilla had enoki mushrooms, a vegetable medley, and the house vegan cheese. Just moved to Little Rock & found this delightful place. The food here is amazing. Salads are huge, fresh, very tasty. The Kun Pao dish is delicious. While thumbing through Instagram, I noticed that they would be open until midnight, so I knew that I wouldn't miss out tonight. I ordered the special- Vegan shrimp, cheese polenta, and kale. OMG!! Food is amazing. Everything you're reading and hearing about the food is absolutely true. Super fresh, top notch, incredibly delicious. We got the cauli wings with honey garlic sauce and sweet potato fries, and the southern fried seitan bites with the twisted heat sauce and zucchini fries. All with guava nectar and pie (so good!). MeMe even gave us a free twisted potato that came with the best ranch I have ever had. She is a vegan food miracle worker! A couple of caveats: 1) Since MeMe is the only person in the kitchen, really be sure you either call ahead with your order *at least* 45 minutes or be ready to wait a very long time, even if you're the only one in the restaurant. We were unaware of this requirement when we came on a Friday night; we were the only people in the restaurant and they had a couple of phone orders ahead of us. We waited an hour and 10 minutes before we ended up having to ask them to make our order to go since we had plans after dinner and didn't expect to wait that long. 2) Despite having posted hours, their hours seem to constantly shift, so be sure to check their Facebook or Instagram before you go to confirm if/when they are open. Or just call because you'll want to put your order in before you go anyway! The first time we tried to go was on a Sunday that was supposed to be open, and even though their website and yelp hours indicated they were supposed to be open, they were still closed (we even spoke to people inside, they apologized for being closed on a day they are normally to be open). When we went at 5:45 pm on a Friday, they had a sign on the door indicating they were closed but were reopening at 6 pm (and were staying open until midnight that night). As long as you're aware of the caveats and are prepared, you'll have an amazing and tasty experience!
