Senior Tequila (Rodney Parham) started off strong but ultimately disappointed where it matters most the food. We arrived as a party of five and were seated immediately, which was a great start. The restaurant itself was clean, well-kept, and there wasn't anything to criticize about the atmosphere or cleanliness. Our server greeted us within two minutes of being seated, and our margaritas arrived in less than seven minutes. Service throughout the meal was friendly and prompt. The small margarita is one of the best values on the menu at just $4. It was decently strong without being overpowering, making it an easy recommendation if you're stopping in for drinks. We ordered the large cheese dip ($12.95), which came out quickly and piping hot. It was perfectly acceptable smooth, flavorful, and without any major flaws but it also wasn't memorable. At nearly $13, it feels overpriced for what you get. The fountain soda was $2.99, which is pretty standard these days. Unfortunately, like many restaurants I've visited in Little Rock, the soda tasted flat. The food took a little longer to arrive, but that's never a problem if it's fresh and worth the wait. Unfortunately, that's where everything fell apart. The Birria ($12.99) was a major disappointment and one of the weaker versions I've had. The Combo #2 (two enchiladas with rice and beans) was even worse. The enchiladas were cold, the food tasted stale, and the entire plate was underwhelming. This visit unfortunately reinforced what has become a frustrating trend for me. I've found it surprisingly difficult to find consistently good Mexican food in Little Rock, and Senior Tequila didn't change that impression. If you're looking for reasonably priced margaritas, quick service, and a clean restaurant, this place checks those boxes. But if you're coming for great Mexican food, I'd recommend looking elsewhere. read more

Me and my wife went and ate tonight 3/16/25 !!! The place was empty to the point it looked like it was closing...we didn't get asked what we wanted to drink for at least 15 minutes!! My wife ordered a coke and they brought her a tea three different times ..we got our drinks just a few minutes before our food..make things worse the food was late getting to us ..they took side dishes off of main plates .. the alcoholic beverage that I ordered had no alcohol in it at all straight up orange juice... one of the taco plates Camwood was supposed to be some kind of salsa, but it was straight water not only that not just our sodas, but our shots of tequila are draft beer and the Bahama mama was all almost it was over double priced and like I said the Bahama mama was straight orange juice, no alcohol in it worst service. I'm serious that I've ever experienced in my life. I mean I'm in McDonald's shines on them on a bad day I would not recommend ever going to senior tequila. If I had the patience I would've went to Casa Mexicana where I normally go. That is my advice for you if you're reading this to go to Casa Mexicana, the plates are cheaper. There's more food on them. All the side dishes are still with them and they're about $4.04 to five dollars cheaper than the plates at senior tequila and a drink or half of what they cost at senior tequila I mean actually it just blows my mind. Friendly service in newly remodeled space in Colony West shopping center. Great mango margarita. Puréed tomatoes do not qualify as SALSA so big disappointment there. Plating needs some polish. Pale food on a completely white platter is just unappealing. Food with three different entrees was uniformly bland. Not asking for heat or mouth burn, just lacking FLAVOR. Servers should understand basic requests; 'plate', 'napkins', 'drink' .... It's in the neighborhood so hoping some tweaks are made so it thrives! read more

I'm in Little Rock for a couple of weeks and asked the ladies at a clinic I was working at, where they eat Mexican food. This is where they told me to go. It took me a bit to find it, it kind of sits back, in a strip mall type of building. I entered, and there was one other customer, and a couple of guys at the bar. I was immediately seated. No cute decorations here, only brown wooden tables, and wooden chairs, and booths. There's a t.v. also. I ordered iced tea, unsweetened (no one has messed that up yet, in Little Rock, this is a good thing), and a number 7, I think it is. 2 enchiladas, one taco, and Spanish rice. I was sure I asked for a chicken and a cheese enchilada, and beef taco. What I received were 2 chicken enchiladas, and one chicken taco. Starved, I didn't complain, besides the service was top notch. The enchilada is, as I believe, more "authentic" (that nasty little word that's taken very seriously in Kansas City). The shell is a steamed corn tortilla, with filling, and a yummy red sauce. Dumb me, I should've ordered something with guacamole. The enchiladas were perfectly spiced, but I was bored with chicken by then, oh well, I should've said something. Before my meal was bought to me, they bought out chips and sauce. The sauce is not too hot, and the chips, oh my goodness, the chips, were delicious. The taco (damn, chicken), was, well, chicken....and I don't particularly like chicken tacos. The rice was perfect, and with plenty left over, I was able to eat the left overs for dinner tonight in the hotel. I have driven around Little Rock ans saw other Mexican restaurants, and will also be checking them out this next week. It is really cool that I found this one. Yeah. Mexican food, funny and enjoyable service with a mean margarita calm tf down. The customer or worker base does not care if you using your fake ID as a 15-year-old. As long as the karens of the country don't decide to abuse their "power" calling and starting paperwork that gets filed once every four years it will role smoothly like it has. Only a hiccup, the government encourages such as they get money from the Chinese-based company you spend hundreds of dollars on until you turn twenty-one. Until the states agree to a lowered drinking age in the country go get yourself a drink or two. Respect the craft, don't drink to get drunk, and enjoy the night as calmness enters the air. A truthful rise of voice as you loosen up sexually, mentally, and morally drinking has been around since the times of Gods. It is only right to give Mexico their respect in making it the place of business here as they make millions a year. Considering we basically stole Texas from them it is good we take advice there I think their ethics are much better than any American. Used to love this spot. It has gone downhill quick. Service is terrible now, wait staff is rude, and food has gone downhill as well. Not to mention the "large" beers aren't large anymore. I was seated (after 10 minutes) and the manager walking past me several times. No host awaiting customers. I have previously been told outside seating is open so I told two people they could go ahead. After being seated and a rude customer approached our waitress and said "excuse me but we were here first." Ok things happen. Then the same waitress approached me and pointed at me in my face, "you do not need to be telling people where they can and can't sit". She continued to get my friends drink order then completely ignored me then walked off. Terrible service now. read more

Will never eat here again. Came in WITHOUT a mask with about 6 other people. Was sat down, the rest of my party arrived without a mask and were asked to leave. Apparently rules only apply to certain people. Manager was rude and said "they got too busy and so they just let it pass". Way too much ha for mediocre Tex-Mex. read more

This is my "when I get off the plane in Little Rock" I have to go immediately to this place and get my mexican food fix place, because as international as DC is, the mexican food there STINKS. The servers here treat everyone so nicely, if you are a pretty girl you get it even better. The super fajita nachos, a standard dish at most "authentic" mexican places in Arkansas, are amazing and only $6.50 for the HUGE platter. The platters is chips layered with the best white cheese sauce, peppers and onions, and TONS of grilled fajita meat (I always get mixed chicken and beef). Last nigh my sister and I shared a platter, which is a rarity for me, but we were both still stuffed afterwards. This place is also home to a $2.75 strong margartia. This not only causes my alter-ego "Two Margarita Katie" to join us at the table, but makes me wonder why I can't carbon copy this place and bring it to DC. Finally upon my visit last night I saw they have done some remodeling at this location. The festive colored painted walls had been replaced with white, and and nice new woodwork had been installed. I am hoping the add something back to the wall that use to be covered in mirrors, because it looks a bit sterile right now. Oh, and if your looking for speed--this is your place too. read more

We go to senor tequila's every time we go to little rock to visit the folks. Great authentic, mexican fare that will not dissapoint. Always greeted with a friendly smile, we were seated, orders taken and the good food arrives quickly. Starting off with the chips is salsa is only bested by having a bowl of the wonderful white cheese dip. I had the steak burrito with rice and refried beans. My wife had the chicken fajita burrito. This is my go to place for mexican food here in Little Rock. It's cheap and delicious. They have one right down from University but they're all just as good in my opinion. I've been in and out at lunch with a tip of 15% for less than $5. As a college student, this is definitely the place to go for good food for cheap. Don't get me wrong, it's not all $5-or-less, but even the more expensive plates only range up to about $15, with the exception of a few expensive plates. I've been to happy hour at the one on University and I've also been to the Cantrell location, and THIS location is the ONLY one that insisted on charging me an extremely high "liquor tax" for my cheap margaritas. I don't know if it's because they had a shady worker or what, but drinks here were double what they cost at the other two locations. As for the food, it's your typical americanized Mexican fare. Don't kid yourself and call this place authentic only because everybody who works here is Mexican. The food is americanized. That goes for all the Mexican restaurants around Little Rock. OMG, stay away!!! This dive in a strip mall serves enchiladas which are not baked - but rather just rolled in corn tortillas and slapped on the plate for you. I also tried to order a Herradura margarita. HA! With margaritas here, the only option is rocks or frozen. I've given this place several chances simply because everyone who works there is so friendly, and they really do give the impression that they're trying hard. To be fair, the wait staff is not the problem. The kitchen staff is either retarded or laughing at all the gringos choking down the "food" in the dining room. The carne asada is tough and stringy; it's nature suspect. The fajitas look like they were plated straight from the compost heap. The tamales are flavorless and are not seasoned. The seafood reeks of rot. Anything with the dreaded shredded "meat" should be avoided, which unfortunately is most of the menu. OMG! Best. Guacamole.Ever. We ordered our food for take out since we are visiting Little Rock with our dog. I ordered the Super Fajita Nachos, mixed, based on Katie F's review. They were delicious! Lots of meat, the cheese was awesome. My husband got the Burritos Deluxe and he said it was really good. They sent us home with chips and salsa as well but I'm too full to even try it. HUGE portions. This was our go to restaurant while our kids were growing up (late 90's until around 2015) when the staff disappeared that we knew. Service is nonexistent now and the food has gone down, too. I haven't eaten here in months, but I ordered take out this afternoon, well after lunch rush. My order was exactly what I told them I didn't want. I drove back and he replaced part of it, so the main meal and cheese dip ended up cold by the time I was able to eat. Not only that, he charged me for a dinner portion but was only served a smaller than normal lunch portion. I will go to Bowman or El Porton from now on. I always go to Senor Tequila when I'm craving Mexican food. Their entrees are pretty cheap and really good! Their dishes are no more than 10 dollars and fill you up. You'll always get free chips and salsa, but I like to spend a few dollars to order queso or guacamole. The staff is friendly and always willing to meet your needs. Sometimes when I go out to eat, I like to order beer or cocktails, but Senor Tequila doesn't have a wide selection. We started frequenting this Senor Tequila 15 years ago when we moved a few blocks from it. At that time the family felt like Norm walking into Cheers... Everybody knew us, what we wanted and we didn't have to do anything but walk in and sit down, until we picked our entrees. Margaritas, cheese dip & extra salsa showed up within seconds of opening the front door. Over the years the staff has turned over and all of the people who made it feel like home are gone. The manager is the same, but he was not who made the place great. We like the food and the price, but even though this location is blocks away, we have started going to the Senors on Highway 10. The service is about the same, but we think the food quality is a bit better. We really miss the old Senors. read more

As far as americanized mexican is concerned, this is pretty good. However, this location is absolutely horrible. Its small, and loud. It didnt used to be when they had carpet, but recently they tiled the floor and made it 100x louder than it was. Food wise is hit or miss, as they seem to have a consistency problem at this location. As I live on the north side of the river, I usually visit the Maumelle location, but the University, Bowman, and Cantrell locations are equally as nice, quiet, and all have the same menu. If you have never eaten at a Senior Tequila, then I reccomend trying a different location...unless you really like loud places. Having said that, the staff at this location are great, and many remember my name every time I come in. As for the language barrier, yes, its true, a few know great english (Ask for OSCAR) but many more don't. read more

The senior Tequila on highway 10 (Cantrell) removed their yelp listings. Beware. The food is ok but the service has dropped and the facilities are getting worse since it was converted from an Asian restaurant 10 years ago. The bench seats are in horrible condition and sagging. The seats are very dirty. Occasionally a waiter will say they don't have a military/police discount but most say they do. No consistency. Managed by a person who doesn't show his face around the tables. This place is getting worse every month and needs to update their attitudes. read more

Came here with my boyfriend for the first time. Everything was fine up until it was time to pay for the food.We walked up front and the cashier had a poor attitude. You could tell she did not want to bet there. On top of that, my boyfriend had his hand out to receive the change from paying . You don't know what a good thing you have until it's gone. We've moved to California and OMG I miss white cheese dip and "mexican food." Places out here in San Francisco only have burritos and quesadillas, no enchiladas, no yummy taco salad, no crispy tacos, nada, nothing, not the same. I have been to senior tequila a lot because my family likes it but it's always just ok with me. We never go to this location because I have one closer to my house but we were out and about so we came to this location. I will say the one by my house we get excellent service, this location not so much. Our waitress was snobby and never came around. We started out with cheese dip. The chips were crispy, hot and wonderful. The cheese dip was off. My daughter loves their cheese dip and she did not touch it. I ordered the chimi. I will say the waitress got it right I did not want the shredded chicken. I also wanted a side of sour cream. She finally came back after almost 10 minutes after we got our food. I asked her for my sour cream and she was very rude about it.I guess the manger saw my face because he came over I just said everything was fine. I really thought at first maybe I took it wrong but my husband said no she was very rude. I guess the manager said something because she suddenly became nice. Some of the best tasting chips my wife and kids have ever eaten. They are crisp, and have a great corn flavor that really taste great by itself, but over the top great with their salsa.
