Keep in mind. I'm only giving facts about my experience. This is a soft opening. Never been to one, but I'm assuming it's an "we're almost ready to open but not 100%".... Walked in. No hostess/host. No sign. Was greeted by someone at the bar. I asked if I sit. They said yes. Later, after looking around, I saw a sign that we need to order first then sit at the table. Several menus to choose from. After getting the right one, I ordered the grilled shrimp taco on flour, chicken fajitas taco on flour and queso with chips. The person checking me out wasn't 100% sure about a menu item that I asked about. At this point, I'm a bit confused but the menu items look good. As I'm waiting for my order, a lady notified the staff that the ladies restroom has no toilet paper. I saw people return their sodas because they were flat. Took the food about 10 minutes to be completed. The tacos were actually pretty good. The chicken taco was pretty basic(see photo), which is how I like it. I dipped it in the queso and it was delicious. The shrimp was my favorite (sorry forgot to photo it). It had some sauce in the taco. I'd order the shrimp taco again. They didn't provide hot sauce with the tacos. I'm a sucker for hot sauce with tacos. The queso was too basic. It's a queso you can make easily at home. Considering Houston is a taco hub, I'd say spend more time making your queso special enough to be craved. The queso is a bit pricey for me considering how simple it was. If the chef keeps cooking this way but the initial walk in is improved, I'd be happy to come back. Tips - 1) add a sign with instructions on what to do when we first walk in or have someone in the front, 2) provide the correct menu and put away the old menus, 3) make sure you know the general ingredients about the menu items, 4) keep your drinks bubbly, 5) outdo your competitions queso! This place was great until we found out Kahn is no longer here! I drove out of my way for his personal touch to this place! The welcomes as we walked in the door are no longer there! Food was not worth the price. My total came out to be $10 for a small ass taco and queso dip that tasted like it came from the movie theaters... I had way better tacos elsewhere. I was getting my nails done next door and thought to come here for a convenient meal. The set up of the restaurant is odd. There's no one at the hostess stand and if you've never visited the restaurant, it's unclear on how you order. Luckily, when we got here there was only one group in front of us. The bathrooms are one toilet for each men and women and located off to the back side of the restaurant. I ordered the tortilla soup which was not the best. Too many onions, but by the time I realized, a large group walked in and they were very short staffed and it would likely be a while before they served a replacement. *sigh* Moved on to the ground beef taco. All it had was cilantro and (surprise) more onions. Oh, and jalapeños, which was strange. Where's the shredded lettuce, cheese or avocado? At least the pulled pork taco had tomatoes on it. There are lots of options to choose from, as well as a long list of specialty tacos. Yes, you order at the counter and take a seat with your number - I don't think this is an uncommon set up and am fine with it! 3 of our orders came out relatively quickly, but our last order didn't arrive until maybe 10 minutes later. I had the pulled pork, al pastor and beef fajita tacos along with queso & chips. I ordered with corn tortilla. Most taco shops will double up the tortilla but here it was single and my tacos were starting to fall apart. Service was good. They had enough of a draft beer selection for me. Went for lunch one afternoon and it wasn't busy at all. It may have been a late lunch. I ordered 3 tacos and beans. The beans were delicious, maybe a tad bit salty but very flavorful, but if you like to mix in rice with it, I think it's fine. I ordered 3 tacos and they were so good I ordered two more to try!! That same week, I went back on a Saturday night with my friend, and ordered 2 tacos and some margaritas. We had to leave before 11 pm, so we barely got to enjoy the live music. I really wanted to like them more but with so many competitors in the taco space I had to give a fairly unbiased review based on all factors. The good, service was great and although it's quick casual they were fairly quick about getting an order in and out. The apps could of come out a bit quicker but they either warm the chips on the spot or have a few kinks to work out in the kitchen. The guacamole is more traditional less TexMex so be prepared for chopped avocado not smashed still great flavor though. The tacos themselves were tasty and overall well prepared. The not so good, the tacos were definitely smaller than I anticipated. Again there are so many option for tacos that you need to bring filling full tacos even if it bumps up the price slightly. Overall the sides were pricey and it would be better with like a taco plate or combo option to get what would be a full meal. The drink prices are a bit high at happy hour with no non frozen options available. Their was a little bit of an odd smell that almost made us leave on entry. Wasn't sure if this was an issue with like open water or something else but was a bit hesitant ordering. Overall I wish they do well but see it as a tough nut to crack for the area. read more

This place is amazing to say the least. The service is super quick and the quality of the taco is also great! Specifically the spices used in all of their tacos really makes them very delicious and gourmet tasting. This place is a relatively unknown gym in the Memorial area. The signage is not great although they are right on the feeder road for Katy freeway between Chimney Rock and Antoine, south side. We just had the Jalisco beef tacos, the Chipotle Chicken tacos and the beef Picadillo and they were all fantastic. Highly recommend trying it out!!
