    Fried avocado breakfast taco.
    Anthony A.

The fried avocado breakfast taco was outstanding! Full of avocado, delicious sauce to go with it, and an amazing tortilla. The cappuccino was not a cappuccino. Maybe more like an americano with a lot of milk? I tossed it out.

    Really??

This review isn't for food, but rather for business practices. The food is good, I've eaten there once, and since have tried to come back THREE TIMES when I come to town but they have been closed every SINGLE time. It's frustrating enough driving through Houston traffic hell but I leave HANGRY bc you can't get your hours straight! When I go to YELP I always click "open now" to avoid anything that's closed. PLEASE GET IT TOGETHER!! I am attaching what I see on yelp and what's on the door.

Really nice place with trendy decor, a lively happy hour crowd and warm atmosphere. We ordered the fried avocado taco, fish taco, tandoori chicken taco, beef tacos. All were so so good! A variety of sauces are available for you to choose from with different heat levels. You can get a beer to go with your tacos and enjoy a casual setting. Very nice spot.

    Tex taco and shrimp taco
    Mike W.

The Tex steak taco was decent, nice flavor to it but could be slightly softer. The shrimp taco was the star for me . A burst of flavor from the sauce used in this dish + the shrimp was fried well. Only negative I have is that there was too much lettuce and not enough shrimp. Also the flavor was there but not as "there" was I would have liked. Also portions are slightly smaller than I imagined.. I recommend 3 tacos if you're a buff guy like myself.

Mmmmm, tacos!! In the last two weeks since I've discovered this place, I have been here 4 times! 3 times for lunch and once for happy hour. This place is new to the Greenway area (1st floor in GW9) and a short walk from my building (GW5). They have minor service issues to work out (a bit understaff) and everything that I've tasted so far has been either decent or just good! Here is a small list of items I've tried so far: Queso Solo - Decent Guacomole - Needs more flavor but decent. Maybe a little too healthy. Roasted Corn and Salsa - Good. I enjoyed this item but some of my co-workers were like it was just okay. Spicy Hummus - It wasn't spicy at all but decent hummus. Chips that are served with all the above are thicker than your typical TexMex restaurant. They are thicker like a pita chip so you can doust and get a good portion of the dip on your chip. Brussel sprouts taco - Delicious! Fried oyster taco - Delicious! Tofu Tikka taco on Naan - Yum! Lamb Taco - More yum! Mushroom & chicken quesadilla - Yummy! Steak taco salad - Yum! Jalapeno margarita - My first round was spicier and when the bartendar added more juice, it ended up being really good! I had two of these during happy hour, lol. Happy hour here starts early for those who can get off work at 3. Drinks on their HH menu were about $5 and all tacos were $3 bucks! Love the decor and the chill music they play. I appreciate their diverse menu that they serve a little of everything for your vegans, healthy peeps, and for those who love to splurge in cheese! I look forward to trying more items on their menu.

At first I would've given them 2 stars, but after emailing them about my concerns, they accommodated. The first time I had their breakfast tacos, the price was high and the food was cold. I felt like they precooked the food before I came. The register took too long to process the payment and modifications were not allowed. This was my second time coming here after I spoke with their management. I now will rate them 4 stars. Reason being, they were able to modify no tortilla and to give me extra potatoes, the food was hot as should be, and the time at the register was efficient. I now can go up to my floor to eat without being gone for more than 7 minutes. They were very accommodating and I admire business owners who can take feedback and change. Food was good! I got the bacon and eggs like the first time and the flavors were delicious especially with their home made red salsa. I do see inconsistency here. The taco I got the first time had 2 slices of bacon and this time they only gave me 1. Other than that, thumbs up from me!

Tex mex angus steak// $4.25 My world has turned upside down and stopped spinning. I'm dumbfounded. Could this be? A #taco that's not only one of the best tacos I've ever had but one that could possibly put any #elpastortaco in second place?? For starters, you need to know that #elpastor is something I would wish for on my death bed. Secondly, I don't care about #steak. During our interactions, it's been chewy and quite turned me off. This, however, was one of the most juiciest, flavorful meats I've eaten. Theres a place in my heart for you now and I will always remember how I felt when we were together. Even the fresh guacamole was perfectly salted, every component and layer was given attention. If you've already eaten dinner it doesn't matter, it's #nationaltacoday and this is where you need to go. Try it, I'd bet my life on it without hesitation. To be quite honest I wish it was chewier just so I could have prolonged the experience. She did gift me with her drippings and I dunked my delicious vegan taco in her juices lol I'm still shook. The other tacos were, tempura local shrimp with wasabi ranch and napa slaw and then the agedashi tofu had a peanut sauce and napa cabbage as well. They too were impressive but it was the Tex Mex Angus steak that made me almost fall out of my stool. They have another location called fusion tacos. Driving by it it's always caught my eye and now that I know they're affiliated I will make time for it dammit. Unfortunately, the owner lost one of her restaurants in the flood but with talent like this, I have complete faith that she will open up an abundance more. I'm kicking my self for not picking her brain more over the menu but I will be back. All the ingredients are #locallysourced as well so the quality is no torchys. It quite puts them to shame. Sure anything can go in a taco but the execution is not always met. Fusion eats is one of the taco gods now. P.s parking may suck but if you go during their happy hr time you could be more inconspicuous parking at the bank. If anything there is a parking garage and it's 2 dollars for an hr

Hello - Is this location in Greenway Plaza still open for lunch (May 2022)? The FusionEats website linked does not show a menu and only mentions catering. I called the number but no answer.

Yup, still open. I come almost once a week for lunch.

    Do they have online ordering?

Allow me to be Review No. 1,100 following my visit to this wonderful culinary gem yesterday…read more By default, Spring Branch is Houston's Koreatown, but it's not unusual to find establishments with Spanish-language branding on them throughout the neighborhood. And Tacos Doña Lena, on which I'll heap tons of praise on, is among them. A group of friends and I had supper here before a live show down the street at Eighteen Ten Ojeman. Upon seeing the storefront when we pulled into the parking lot, my first thought was, "Okay, this is legit Mexican, not Tex-Mex." The interior is quite small with some tables and an ample late Saturday afternoon crowd. What caught my eye is how the environment is what you might expect to find at a family-run taqueria off the beaten path. Rock en Español blaring from the sound system. Colorful papel picado draped from the ceiling. A framed Mexican flag and several references to the central Mexican municipality of Guanajuato. The intoxicating smell of spice-laced grilled beef wafting through the air. Simply put, we're not in Kansas anymore, Toto. I glanced at the menu. There are numerous, delicious-sounding items that happen to be wallet-friendly, a bit cheaper than if you were to go to Gringos or Jimmy Changas. According to a mutual, the tacos here are the main draw, but what really caught my attention and appetite was the ramen birria. Mujeres y caballeros (ladies and gentlemen), let me proclaim that Tacos Doña Lena turns a noodle dish with origins in Japan and is a known staple in college dorm rooms into a must-try on this part of America's fourth-largest city. Two amazing food cultures unite for a fiery meeting of the minds. Anchored by a rich, tasty consomé that's spicy but not enough to where you need to drink multiple glasses of water, there's a prime mix of ramen noodle, beef birria, cheese, fried egg, rabanos, garbazo, and corn accompanied by cilantro, onions, and a pair of fried tostadas. I was so impressed with how the contents of the ramen blended together. Since it was ramen after all despite the south of the border touchup, I still ate it the traditional way: pick up the noodles and sip the soup. There was so much that I had no choice but to put it in a takeout container. Sure, Spring Branch may be home to some great traditional Korean restaurants, but don't sleep on Tacos Doña Lena.

Although I opted for enchiladas rojas. Intense garlic. Rice is too salty for my personal preference. Beans good. Enchiladas also more salty than my preference. But still enjoyable. The lines are almost always long no matter the time of day, but they move quickly, so the wait isn't bad. I usually grab a pink lemonade as well, which hits every time. One of my friends took me here and we all got to try a lot of stuff. We ordered: Horchata (small for $3.49), Quesadillas with beef, Quesadillas with chicharron, Gorditas with beef, and Gorditas with chicharron. I don't like cinnamon but the horchata was addicting and it paired so well with the food. My friend got their Melon Agua Fresca and he said it was really refreshing as well. The gorditas were stuffed and they were so delicious, the cheese was melting and the bread was warm and not dry. The Quesadillas were my favorite. You put both the red sauce and the green sauce on it, a lot of lime juice, and it's perfect. I forgot to order cilantro on mine but they do give you it at no extra cost. The prices are so cheap and you get so much food. Everything is around $3 and it will fill you up. Each of us totaled out to be about $10-15 per person and we were stuffed. I would definitely come back here over and over again! My friend said the only bad thing about this place is when you order to go, they won't give you a lot (no lime, no hot sauces, less meat, etc.) so definitely get dine-in.

There's a parking lot, but we went on the weekend, and while the interior didn't look overly full, it was somewhat difficult to find a parking spot. The restaurant itself is clean. Everything is pretty much green and white. There's covered patio seating. You can get beer, margaritas, and non-alcoholic drinks. There's also a breakfast menu The food was good, and it didn't take too long to come out. My main issue was the service. The individual taking orders seemed to have a bit of an attitude and just seemed "over it." Furthermore, we mentioned having a queso coupon and when we were given the total I placed my card on the reader and I was told that I did it too fast and the queso wasn't taken off. The odd thing was, we walked away and realized that they didn't add the queso and the coupon was for free queso so they could have just rung up an additional queso. This individual had the vibe of eye rolling everything, and it honestly left a bad taste in my mouth Some tips: You can order online to avoid any wait. Just go up to the pick-up window when it's supposed to be ready for a painless interaction There's a little bar area where you can get pre-packaged (to-go) salsas, pickled onions, limes, etc etc etc. the salsas are tomatillo, habanero, and jalapeño (I believe) You can order margaritas to go, which we did! Cheers!!
