Hard to describe Mojo. Dine-in experience is lacking. Everything feels sticky. Food is good, depending on what you get. Half the menu is grease sponges so watch out. Packaging of the food is seriously lacking. Tossing everything in a styrofoam container shows me they really care about their food. Cost is okay, a little steep for what you get. read more

I used to love this place. However my order has been wrong the last 3 times. I called this last time to let them know and was told "ugh well ok, I'll let the cook know". Not even an apology. Sometimes just saying "Hey we're sorry about that" can go a long way. Especially after $55-60 spent on the wrong orders. It felt like they could care less. I always try to support the local places, especially during COVID, but after this last time, I'd suggest supporting Huey's. This wouldn't happen there. Sorry Mojo's, I tried. A former co-worker and friend just retired and moved back to Memphis. He was in Cali for the last three years and was not current on what the current food scene is here in Memphis. He called me so we could meet and fellowship and gave me the choice of where to eat. I checked the Yelp app to find a place convenient to both our neighborhoods that I had not tried before and found Memphis MOJO Cafe. The restaurant is at one end of a shopping plaza. There is exactly one table with 4 chairs for outdoor eating. The placement of the table almost directly in front of the door on the sidewalk and the fact that it is unshaded make it a poor choice for dining. The interior is not a decorated space. It is a functional space for eating if you must dine in. There is a row of tables along one wall. Behind the last table are boxes of supplies piled high. Two high tables are located just inside the front window along the opposite wall next to a utensil/condiment station followed by a beverage fountain. Next is a long counter with the menu on a big board mounted on the wall behind the counter. The menu was standard sandwich shop fare and not too overwhelming with items. I ordered the candied bacon BLT and Philly steak tots to start and my friend ordered the jalapeño burger and tots. Food was brought to our table in 15 minutes. We did notice many call in customers picking up orders. So how was it? The BLT was very good! The bacon was lean and cooked perfectly. The Philly tots were also very tasty. There was an abundance of grilled onions along with the steak on the tots and the onions were caramelized to perfection! It's rare that I find onions cooked so well that they actually stand out in the overall dish. Heavenly. My friend also raved about his selections. But here's the thing... the portions were not very large in my opinion. I felt like I needed to order something else to have my hunger satiated. The primary goal of the lunch was to fellowship so we spent the majority of the two hours doing that and neglected to get around to ordering more. Really enjoyed the unique burger combos. We will have to come again and try others, and the starters like MOJO fries or tots that sound amazing. Not immaculately clean, but the kind of place you know when you see it and smell it that its gonna be good! Home style chips were fresh and crisp, but could use some more seasoning. I'm going to start out and Let Everyone Know that the Bacon Pimento Cheese Burger is By Far THE BEST Burger I've EVER eaten. Yes, I've had a few really good burgers before, but OH MY HEAVENS This is the BEST and I rarely order a burger for dinner. So I've relocated out of state and commute back and forth to Memphis because of family and Unbeknownst to me that this restaurant ever existed! Holy Moly everything was delicious! The Mojo tots with the candied bacon, chorizo gravy is to die for and the fries..... The fries... had that perfect crunch with their special seasoning. I was so impressed and spoke to the cook who informed me that the restaurant is family owned and has been open for six years. This is one of those hidden gems that need to be recognized nation wide where Guy Fieri should pay a visit. Once this place gets recognized their definitely going to have to make room for more. read more

Not a very clean appearance (white painted walls were very scuffed and dirty, drink vending was not clean, fly swarming my table). Door said mask required but staff was not wearing. Ever had a "Deep Fried Donut"? Delicious!! Have you ever had a "Deep Fried Donut" from Memphis Mo'Jo? Yet? Sometimes, it's all about the timing. My wife and I were at Memphis Mo'Jo Cafe recently for their fabulous "Smoke Cheese Burger" with Gouda and carmelized onions (only 1 of their incredible burgers). It just so happened that they were testing out a "possible" new menu item (this was not official yet). She had only that moment put the whip cream on top - and then she asked if we would "test" it out for her. Of course! How cool was that? WOW! What an fantastic new dessert. She started with a delicious donut from a local donut store - so it starts out great, right. Then she had scratch-made the batter that the donut was dipped in. Then she deep fried it - (are you starting to smell how good it tastes?) Then she topped it with powdered sugar and drizzled it all over with chocolate sauce. Finally, she added the whipped cream. Mmmm. Forgot about that diet (for a short while) and get your forks out. Each bite was a tasty mix of the hot, battered donut and the cool whipped cream - oh man, you have to try this yourself to fully appreciate it. Yes, we truly enjoyed "helping" her test out this new creation. Remember, we were told that this is not "currently" on the menu, but you might want to ask about the "Deep Fried Donut" when you go next time. Dine in is open . After reading all the reviews decided on the mushroom swiss burger. The meat was flavored perfectly, ( chard on the edges)fresh mushrooms and a tomato aioli spread. If your up for it you can add patties up to 5 but the single was enough for me. The" Kruguer "which is 5 patties was ordered by my date and he was not able to finish..4 pounds of meat..crazy! My daughter introduced Mojo's Cafe to me and I now eat there on average once a week. I eat the veggie burger, best I've ever had, the fries also are delectable. Yummm. I may have just read a bad experience. The food was good...if the staff prepares it correctly. By this I mean if they bring you a mushroom burger with mushrooms instead of just a burger. Failing at any point to tell you that they where out of mushrooms and when you have them remake it you wait about 15 mins until you're about to ask where your order is (there where only 4 people dining in at the time) and they come over to tell you they don't have any mushrooms. Seems like something you would tell your customer before you start to cook it. So food wasn't bad, but the service was lacking. read more

This is what great small businesses are made of. I arrived about 30 minutes before opening, tried the door, it was locked. What the heck? Oh wait, I'm in a different time zone than home... turns out I was thirty minutes early. But a few moments after trying the door a gentleman came to the door, explained that they're not open yet, but we can wait inside. Once inside the man mentioned he doesn't operate the cash register, but we could order our food now and by the time we're done the cashier should be there to ring us up. How awesome is that?! I asked him his favorite and he mentioned the Smoked Cheese Burger. It comes with gouda, onion, and bacon, but the cherry on top was the aioli. It was a sweet combination. I got a side of sweet potato "fries"? Which were more like thick soft chips, not what I was expecting but good anyways. While I waited I hoped on their free wifi. Actually, there were a few small hoops to get online. They gave two options to get online (similar to some airports) enter your email or login via Facebook. They basically want to email you thanking you for your patronage. The only downside was the drink selection. I don't drink pop, so my selection was unsweetened tea or water. This is a great locally owned joint with local artist paintings on the walls, a TV, and chalkboard menu. The burgers were delicious! We had the smokehouse burger (Caramelized onions, candied bacon, spicy aioli) and the super burger (double the patties), as well as the mojo fries (cheese, candied bacon and some sort of sauce). The staff was friendly/attentive and the service was exceptional! It is ridiculously rare to find such great service. We highly recommend if you have a hankering for some great burgers! read more

First time here at this restaurant. I have to say I am impressed with everything... from the way they decorate the restaurant to the service. The amount of food and the price is pretty good, lots and lots of food. Got this huge burger, some tots and a drink it's like 18$ not bad. Other places can easily go up to 30$ for what they offer... not gonna point it out which restaurant (Red Robin). But again price doesn't matter if the food is up to standard and so the service. While visiting Memphis from Texas we were looking for a yummy lunch for our large family. From the outside we were a tad concerned that all 11 of us may not have a place to sit, but we headed in to find out! PLENTY of space, yes we took up 3 tables but there was still plenty of seating for other customers. Daisy was ABSOLUTELY the sweetest, most informative, patient, beautiful, kind soul!! Due to our size family, we order many different things on the menu!!! We tried all of of the starters except the mojo fried and tots! The corn nuggets were most of my kids favorite!! The fried pickles were gone so fast, I'm guessing because of the seasoning!! My personal favorite was the Veggin' our burger! Thanks again Daisy for the tip to add a couple veggies!! The Smoke Cheese burger, and the Hwy 64 sliders tied for second, in my opinion. Once we had tried a bunch, we still went back to order the Grill Cheese. Neat little spin on a traditional favorite! Lets start with what makes the burger plate something to talk about - the fries. If you want to complete the plate, one thing is off, its all off. Dont over-season or overcook the potatoes. I think youre guessing my next line, yep all them fries were not so great. Now on to what they brag about on their website...that burger. Stay away from the candied bacon, thats a travesty on any burger. Brown sugar does not mix well with beef. Pork, perhaps, but the combination of the three ruins a burger. "All burgers cooked to medium-well unless specified" shows a lack of the burger-fu. Medium is prop burger-fu. My burger was over cooked and under-seasoned. I thought you were nationally rated? Bad day, perhaps, again but if you can't stay consistent, I aint coming back and Im telling people about it. It's not just me, my party of 4 was not impressed and I had been jonesin' to try the joint. The interior felt like a startup not a nationally ranked place. My last rant is about any joint or person over the age of 6, you dont call your shizzle "sammies" or "sammiches". It sounds a bit try-hard and a bit sophmoric. I cant hang with that. You'll get your face slapped in any serious sandwich cities if you bring that kinda terminology to the table. This place is a major up and comer. I'm expecting big things from Mojos in the near future. Food - without a doubt one of the best burgers I've had. It's the classic skillet burger that has that charred crispiness, but what it makes it extra special is the the mix of meat grinder in house of angus, brisket, and chuck. Added bonus are the assortment of awesome toppings available Service - I truly don't think service could possibly be any better, super nice and they had our food to us before we were even settled in seats...seriously Atmosphere- this is my only knock on Mojos and the only reason I went with 4 stars. There's just not much to the place. It's in a strip mall setting it's just very basic. In fairness I think it's a fairly new operation so I can see the reason in starting slow and where they are at. read more

They're known for their burgers, which are HUGE and delicious, and you can't go wrong with the onion rings! I ventured away from my usual and ordered a chicken sandwich and it did not disappoint.
