love the flavors that they have here I've been bringing my boys for a few months and the service has been great! the place has been pretty clean and my kids love how bright and colorful it is. Only one sugar free flavor and that wine wasn't available when I was there disappointing for me as I need to eat low sugar). The worker asked me if I was part of their rewards program and I responded it was my first time. Then rather than telling me how to join she just rang me up. I had to go online to look up the rewards program myself. It wasn't too busy when I took my grandson for a treat, we were waited on fairly quickly and were able to sit inside out of the heat. Clean store, clean bathrooms, and fairly quiet. Overall it was a nice little fro yo date for my grandson and me. He was happy to go and enjoyed his treat topped with gummy bears! Yum! Great place for frozen yogurt. It is pricy, comparable to other self-serve fro yo places, so we only stop by for the occasional treat. At this location only the frozen yogurt is self-serve. Choose a bowl (various sizes) and fill it up with one or more types of frozen yogurt. I recommend the Dole Whip pineapple flavor. Then hand over your yogurt to the employee behind the counter if you want toppings. They have a variety of toppings available to choose from. Inform the employee what you would like and how much. I do wish the items were all labelled to make it easier to order. Typically I choose the cookie dough and rainbow sprinkles. Recently I tried the waffle cone pieces (so good). After selecting your toppings you weigh the bowls then pay. It definitely gets expensive quick so be mindful of the weight. I like this place quite a lot but I rarely visit because it doesn't open until noon and I'm an old lady who grabs groceries from Harris Teeter at 7am :P Staff is always friendly and will greet you even if they're in the back sorting something out, there's a good variety of frozen yogurts at all times and it's always clean. It works like any other frozen yogurt place where you pick your flavours, fill up your cup yourself and then top with whatever candy/fruit/sauces and you pay by weight. I like that their toppings are not self-serve. That's one way to keep the place clean. The ice cream is self-serve. They offer different cup sizes, but I didn't see a small size cup. There is a sign that you can request to sample any flavor, just ask. I didn't see the sign until after we sat down. They have some good dairy free options here and sugar-free. If it's your first time, it's best not to overdo it by filling the cup. You have a large cup so you think it should be filled, but if it's half way, I find that it's more than enough. Plus consider that you may get additions at the counter. The cup is weighed on the scale at the counter. For the price that you pay, you can buy a pint or larger at the grocery store and have some left over, but I think this place is a special treat yourself to "soft serve" day. So just get out and enjoy something deliciously sweet! read more

Went to this place after dinner. NEEDED DESSERT. It so did not disappoint. I grabbed a cup, filled it with chocolate frozen yogurt to heal my soul. ( they have good variety but the soul needed to go classic) they have gluten free and low fat options if people people were wondering. Not sure if I came across any dairy free. Now the toppings. The choices are awesome. They even have Hershey's chocolate sauce as well as their caramel sauce. Nutella was there as well. ( can you tell I love chocolate?). My friend dumped what I fathomed as M&Ms on top of my yogurt and biting into it was a world of disappointment. Skittles and chocolate froyo aren't meant to be. It doesn't help that the skittles shell harden. For that I'll need to extract revenge on my friend but in terms of flavors and options definitely worth it. My first trip was a little confusing...because you walk to the back of the store to get your yogurt cup, then move forward to the machines, then to the toppings bar, and finally you get to the cashier - who is located at the front of the store. This is somewhat "reversed" and I actually stood in front of the cashier for 10-seconds looking like a total idiot until I figured it out. Everything is sold by weight...they charge $0.48 per ounce (at the time of my visit) and this includes everything that you put into the styrofoam cup - so you might want to go light on some of the heavier toppings like syrup and fudge. Otherwise, you could end up with a $7 cup of yogurt like I did. I need to deduct 1-star for the somewhat "reversed" store layout which I found confusing - but other than that it is a really neat place, I will certainly return in the future! read more

My kiddo wanted ice cream for breakfast, but that was a hard "no" this morning (I give her points for trying! Haha)! We went out to lunch with a friend and it was a long wait and she tolerated everything so well, so I thought a fun treat - especially on a day she wanted something sweet - would be a nice surprise. Sweet Frog was a great choice today! The establishment was clean and bright, we were greeted warmly and offered help with samples right away. Everything works like how one would expect at a froyo shop: get your bowl, choose and fill up your cup with froyo, select and add your toppings, weigh your creation, pay, then enjoy! My kiddo was so excited to see Oreo topping (little does she know these aren't so rare in the real world), and I was happy to see mochi offered too. There were several flavor options for froyo, and lots of topping choices too (candy, fruit, sprinkles, sauces, etc.). I really wanted to like this place but they're clearly just money hungry. My fiancé and I went in, got cut by a big family, and by the time it was our turn for toppings, mine was melted. Like, soup style and I'm not kidding. My fiancé asked the pink haired employee if we could get another one, she declined and made us pay for it even when I said I didn't want any toppings because I wouldn't be eating it. I even held it up and showed her while it almost slid out my cup. Mind you, my cup wasn't even half way full. I even said out loud that I'm throwing it away and the employee gave me a lid. New to the area and decided to try a new place for frozen yogurt. Came in and loved the way it looked, and my fiancé and I were the only two people inside. We asked to try 2 flavors, at which point a family of 4 walked in and rudely started taking over the store. The only worker present started giving them flavors to taste. They cut in front of us, getting their toppings one by one after we had already gotten our yogurt flavors. After 15 minutes of waiting our yogurt had melted. The only worker asked what toppings we wanted, apologizing for the wait, and we asked if we could get new yogurt after being cut and it melting. She said "Sorry, I don't think so." I have been to this location numerous times and this is my first review. I have had my ups and downs here, but overall, it's been decently good. The most important thing is that 1. They have Nutella (otherwise there'd be no reason to come here, period), and 2. They have Oreo cookie pieces (rather than the crushed up mess that most yogurt places offer). Today, when I went, I was craving frozen yogurt because my new home in DC has surprisingly failed to wow me with something better. So coming back to NC, I hadto rely on what I know to be good here and wouldn't disappoint. Sweet frogs it is! I really like this place. Its around the corner from my house and we've been at least 5 or 6 times. The Red Velvet is stellar. It's so much fun because you get to pick everything yourself and don't have to deal with anyone putting your toppings on etc. I'm a little confused about Kristyn's review because I found that Sweet Frog typically has kiwi, strawberries, blueberries, bananas that they will cut fresh for you, and healthier dry toppings like coconut, walnuts, almonds, and pecans. But I will agree that the tart flavor is a little strange. The people that own this place work here and are always interested in feedback and happy to help. They really want to succeed. I think if they ran out of strawberries they would get you some more if you asked but I haven't tried yet. I definitely recommend sweet frog. read more

Very disappointing visit to Sweet Frogs. Came with a gift card for $10 and hopes to have a nice visit. The mid afternoon before school release time should have made for a positive experience but it wasn't. The yogurt machines weren't very clean. The bathrooms were very dirty. The worst part was that even before the cups could be weighed the clerk asked if we had a coupon or gift card. When pressed about why, she said she had to know what bracket to ring us up in. Even had to re-weigh the first child's cup who had placed his on the scale. This makes me question their pricing policy and the value of any gift card from there. There are better places we could have gone for what we ended up paying not even figuring the $10 savings we were supposedly getting. I was so excited to see a froyo place opening right by the grocery store that I shop at all the time and finally stopped in to try it the other day. I know these places are all pretty much the same, but here are the things that I like about Sweet Frog: -They have 3 different cup sizes, so they don't force you to get the giant one in hoes that you will get carried away and over fill it like most of these place -The frog is really cute and they have it on T-shirts, visors, etc. -They had some fabulous flavors the day I stopped in: peppermint and mango! I don't really recommend that combo, but I did have to try some of each. -Their original tart seemed extra tart and tasty to me. This could've been my imagination since I haven't had any in awhile though! Cons: -there was an issue with the mango when I was there. I think the temperature in the machine was messed up or something, so I got a bunch of runny liquid at first and it was very icy. The flavor was excellent though. read more

I've tried most of the yogurt shops in this area, my previous favorite is under new ownership and I didn't care for the changes they made to their yogurt, so I thought that I would give this place a try. Gotta say the yogurts were the best around, they actually have the "tang" of yogurt and all of the flavors that I tried were pretty much spot on. If you are looking for something that tastes exactly like ice cream and not yogurt, than you might be better served getting ice cream somewhere else. The peanut butter was AWESOME. There are 16 different flavors! I don't know what the previous reviewer was talking about, but there was plenty of fresh fruit along with lots of good junk food to top your yogurt with. The owners were super friendly and are really interested in feedback about their product. They are proud of their shop and want to make it the best around. I love this place! The people that work there are very nice people which makes me happy to give them my business. But more than that is that their yogurt is SO tasty. I'm slowly working my way through their flavors. It has been difficult as I am very attached to a few of them and gravitate towards them. (red velvet I'm looking at you--and I'm glad that I ate a lot of the Mounds flavor as it has been replaced for the time being with other equally delicious flavors) Flavor combos that I've tried and repeated- -red velvet and cake batter/red velvet and mounds -egg nog and snicker doodle -pumpkin and caramel de leche Today I had the pistachio and cake batter and it was a success. Another great thing is that it located in the same shopping center as Harris Teeter. Just so everyone knows. I have gone to Sweet Frog again twice over the past weekend. They now have coupons just an fyi. It's had coupons out around town if you carefully pay attention. While in there on Friday night late, 1030ish. I was so excited because my work hours don't allow me to make it over there after wards but now summer hours have Fri and Saturday nites open later. While in there a couple in front of me asked if they took competitor coupons, and I heard the young woman say sorry as of right now they don't. The couple mentioned "The place down the street does" And acted a bit huffy. Please don't start taking competitor coupons. If that happens it is going to attract the wrong crowd and it will cheapen it. If you really all are a fan of Sweet Frog, then shop at Harris Teeter and Lowes foods. There is always multiple coupons for the Sweet Frog on Tryon buy one get one half!!! Or text blasts. The texts are what remind me and all I can fill in a blue cup for only 4 dollars. I have seriously had 20 coupons from shopping on the back of Teeters receipt. Support the local business. read more
