Today was my first visit to this restaurant. I got the Thai mango salad with steak. When it was brought to my table, I discovered that it was large enough to feed three people. It was good but I was glad that I asked for the dressing on the side; it really packed punch. I ate as much as I could at the table but took the rest home for another meal. As for ambiance, the place was welcoming, spacious, very clean and bright with white walls, white tables, white chairs and large windows stretching from the floor to the ceiling. The white colors were slightly offset by the dark blue benches and a ceramic blue and white life-sized cow at the entrance. The bright, digital menu on the wall near the counter made it easy to choose what I wanted without having to hold a sticky plastic menu and straining my eyes to read the 4-point font. Mellow music played softly in the background while more customers began to trickle in from work. The friendly, helpful woman behind the counter greeted each one with a warm smile and a cheerful, "Welcome in!" as they walked through the glass doors. From the moment I walked in, I received exceptional service. The cashier walked up to me with the menu and reviewed all the options with me. I mentioned it was my first time. After looking at the menu I ordered 1/2 of the "Not So Fried Chicken" sandwich and a cup of the Lemon Greek Chicken & Farro Soup. It was a casual dining area so you can choose where to sit. You scan the QR code and enter your ticket number so the server knows where to bring your food. Everything was 10/10. I am still thinking about the flavors of the soup. Good food, nice ambiance. But what really stood out was the service. We were greeted coming in. Someone helped talk to our kids and got them coloring menus. They helped us with the menu, and came by the table repeatedly to make sure we were ok. This was a Sunday afternoon. Can't speak to any other time here, but phenomenal experience for a family with little kids. Lots of other families with kids here, so the word must be out. It was really a happy sight seeing families enjoying a meal with their young kids, and kiddos munching on their kids menus items (I guess that's a testimate to their kids menu). Once I ordered my fix, my food took awhile to get together, but once prepared and bagged, it was brought to me personally, and I was off. I later found I was missing a soup I ordered, but otherwise everything looked pretty good. Tastewise, The chicken caprese was okay, but if I was to spend my money here, it'd be on the street corn chicken sandwich. The crunch and bit of acid and vinegar from the onions, spice from the corn and chicken, and a crisp but plushy sesame bun really set this sandwich off! I heard about Mendocino Farms when they were a vendor at an event in my apartment complex so I've been waiting to check them out. I took a leisure stroll around Uptown Park after I left S+B and stumbled upon them so of course, I had to go in. It's very spacious in there, with plenty of seating, and the menu is right up front so you don't have to wait till you get the counter to decide what to get. I was impressed by all the vegetarian and vegan options so I went with the shroom Philly cheesesteak and it was delicious. They even had gluten free bread as an option for the cheesesteak. I sat outside to eat and take in some sun and it was great. The server brought my food out and the service overall was pleasant. I can't wait to go back knowing they are right around the corner from me. Plus there's plenty of parking. read more

I finally made it here for lunch last week and wanting a sandwich. Inside it's bright and open with an attractive interior. At the counter I ordered a new offering the Italian roast beef 1/2 sandwich combo with a cup of lemon chicken soup ($12). Adding a canned drink and tax made the total price $15.80. The food was ready in about 5 minutes. First, the soup had a rich full bodied flavor and was very good. The sandwich was served on a poppy seed roll and was equally delicious. You order at a counter sort of like at Panera/Pei Wei. They give you a QR code ticket & bring your food to you. The restaurant was clean and bright. We had salads...let me tell you, they were delicious! Now I want to try everything on the menu-it all looked good; it was hard to decide. A manager saw us studying the menu and came over to give some guidance and suggestions based on our likes - bravo!! All the staff we encountered was happy, super friendly and helpful. There was no "rushing". (TY!) Everything they suggested was delicious; service is quick and sound level perfect for conversations. It was a pleasant experience from the moment we walked. Definitely a service minded location. I wasn't sure if I wanted to try one of their specialty drinks at the time of my order, but later decided I did. After meal prepping all week, I often look forward to eating out and trying a new place. This week, I wanted something that wasn't a traditional "sit-down, waiter-service" restaurant. I picked Mendochino due to the amazing reviews on yelp and new I had to see if the hype was real. If you can't tell by the 5 stars- it absolutely is. The restaurant is clean and even has a chalk wall for kids to write on. There is a QR code on each table so you can tell them where you are once you sit down. You order at the front, so this is such a fun twist that I didn't expect. I wasn't sure what to try and the staff was SO helpful. I ordered the "not so fried" chicken and I also got a side drink. The sandwich was so full of flavor, I almost didn't expect it. I can see how this sandwich is so popular. I really enjoyed their collection of house made drinks and definitely recommend trying those at least once. Will definitely be back, this may become my regular "to-go" spot! read more

I recommend the "Not so fried" chicken sandwich. The sandwich is "Not so fried" because they use roasted chicken (not fried) topped with crunchy mystery bits to imitate a deep fried crunchy texture. It's a delicious alternative to the real deep fried stuff. As for the side, I recommend the curry couscous. Great curry flavor and texture. The person who was handing out the orders and cleaning tables was friendly. She checked on us a few times and offered to take away trash. The interior is nicely decorated, clean, and family friendly. The natural lighting and tall ceiling makes this place very warm and welcoming. I wish that for dine-in orders, the side dish would be served in a reusable bowl instead of disposable plastic. Same goes for the water cups. It felt a bit wasteful. Usually these type of crafty sandwich California origin restaurants are more earth conscience. read more

It is still a bit jarring not to have a soda option for the drink but the food is so good I am getting over that. The house lemonade is tart and tangy and lemony and delicious. I love the ambiance and there were plenty of tables and chairs, the place is sparking clean and every staffer we encountered was super friendly and helpful. High fives on reusable table ware. The plastic for the deli sides and the sauce is a necessity in my opinion but i like having a "real fork" and keeping a single use utensil out of a landfill when I dine here. And I will be back!! When I walked in I was a little excited to try it, but then turned off by the long line and the fact that I had to scan a barcode at my table after I ordered at the counter. The tables were also pretty small and close together so not the best for wanting to talk to the person across from you if you don't want to have to also hear the conversations to your left and right. After the wrong person's food showed up, I was really questioning this whole process. My sandwich showed up, and it was good. However $15 for a sandwich with all this added complexity just didn't quite seem worth it.
