My family & I came here randomly last year 2019 for breakfast. The beignets were delicious but I would minus the maple syrup. That made it very sweet My husband got the French dip sandwich, our daughter got the Chicken Fried Steak and I got the French Toast with over easy eggs. The coffee was great. They all were delicious. Needed to bring my youngest some place new that wasn't a chain while running errands and we ended up here. I love the historical vibe from the inside of this restaurant. Exposed brick with writing from a bygone era and the remnants of what appears to be a bar are still here. This is a no frills place as a heads up. Food is simple, filling and good. Staff is friendly and helpful. My youngest is a lover of a good western burger and she zeroed in on this item on the small menu. It came with French fries that were well seasoned and crispy. The burger though well done was juicy enough that she needed to wipe her face after the first bite. I ordered the club sandwich with onion rings. Rings were fried in a standard beer batter but were hot and good. My sandwich was good but left me with one complaint, the bread. I'm a firm believer that club sandwiches should be on semi thick bread to hold up to the toppings. While toasted perfectly, the bread felt limp in my hands. The food was very underwhelming. The coffee was extremely weak. When I mentioned it to the server, her reply was that the bags that they use had less grounds in it. So, you know there's a problem, but aren't doing anything about it. That sums up the whole thing. I'm going to say that you know they care about their customers when they have the Orange flavored smuckers jam. That is literally my weakness and rare to find. I used to come here when it was Auntiee's Bee, or something like that. As of today the place is re-done and they have changed their name to Meridian Cafe. Not sure if there is new owners or what but the service was fantastic and the food still super good. I was here to study in one of the back tables. I sat myself and did not have to wait long for service. Their coffee is strong but good. I ordered French toast, eggs and bacon. The French toast came with fruit on top and whipped cream. It tasted fresh and sooo good. The eyes were ok, a little watery for my taste but overall good. They use real bacon! Haha it was crunchy and fatty just how I like it. I totally recommend you coming here. The portions are big and the prices are reasonable. The ambience is good to chat, is loud enough for talking but not overwhelming to where you can't hear the person you are talking with. read more

It was so good the crust for the chicken was crispy- not soggy which is amazing! I got the MONTE CRISCO!!! I was so excited when I saw they had it in their menu. I asked our waitress if she could tell me how good theirs is, she described it as a monte Crisco covered in a donut and it was literally just that! I now have cravings for that! Good coffee, eggs and steak cooked as ordered, real hash browns. My spouse had a veggie omelet which was also very good. They feature cinnamon rolls which are huge. However just be aware the texture is more cake like than bread like not bad, just not what I was expecting. The only downside was the sourdough toast I ordered was not crisp and a bit soggy in spots. We stopped here Labor Day weekend on our way to get ready for a wedding in Puyallup. It looked like there was parking in the back, but we wearily found free parking on the street and heading to the restaurant was a quick stroll. It's a very cute place, with some vintage-looking murals/signs on the walls, a little rustic charm. We were seated right away and the service was good despite not being greeted for a few minutes right at the beginning (although, the host noticed quickly and came over to say someone would be right there). Coffee was refilled often throughout the meal, and for $8, the Bloody Mary was pretty good and the bacon on it was great. Bf ordered the spicy chorizo omelet, which he said wasn't spicy, and I got the chorizo burrito. I wish it came with something other than hash browns or home fries, because the burrito had hash browns inside it, but the hash browns were nice and crispy. I asked for sides of salsa and sour cream, because the potatoes inside made it a little dry, but overall, it was pretty ok. Today I ate at Meridian Cafe. The server was great! She had the longest nails and even I wondered how she worked with them. I have pretty long nails myself but nothing compared with her's. Now on with my review! My grilled pot roast and mushroom sandwich with melted cheese was excellent. The pot roast was piled high with fresh mushrooms and cheese then grilled to perfection! A lovely little spot my sister and I stopped into, nothing fancy. The menu had a little of everything. My sister enjoyed her oatmeal, which looked to be steel cut oats. The omelette was filled with a perfect balance of veggies and cheese. The hash browns were nice and crispy and the toast was thick and just so delicious. All the staff was so kind and our waitress was very attentive. We visited Meridian Cafe about 7:30 AM on Sunday, early enough so that there wasn't a crowd. We were seated right away and coffee arrived shortly thereafter. The freshly remodeled interior was great, showing off some of the cool brick and wood from the old downtown Puyallup building. We started with a cinnamon roll, which arrived in a warm skillet. The roll was decent sized and topped with cream cheese frosting. It was baked just right, not over or underdone. The flavor was a bit disappointing, not terrible, but just a bit bland. It would really benefit from more cinnamon and maybe a bit of nutmeg. We shared a ham and cheese omelet and a pancake. The omelet was cooked properly, but arrived only lukewarm, as if it had been sitting for a while. We ordered the home fries, but received regular hash browns instead. Again, disappointing, but not terrible. The pancake was nearly the size of the plate and was good. They were nice enough to split the order on separate plates for us and the food arrived in a reasonable time. Staff was very friendly. One thing they need to do is add shades to the windows. As the sun came up, the east-facing seat was a bad spot to be. The sun though the window was blinding! This was our first visit and while less than spectacular, I plan on giving them another try. We were a little late for breakfast this Saturday but that was the perfect because everyone got just what they wanted. I was able to get my favorite, Eggs Benedict and the rest of the family was able to order off the lunch menu. This eggs Benedict was one of the best, creamy sauce, thinly sliced ham, but the star was the perfectly cooked eggs. Runny yolks barely held in with the just cooked whites. Home-fries are crispy and seasoned well. Kids got burgers. Daughter got the western (bacon, cheese, massive onion ring, bbq sauce). She ate the whole thing, but she did have to take the onion ring off because she couldn't stretch her jaw to fit it all in a single bite. Son got bacon cheese burger. He was able to hunch out bites without taking any toppings off. He said it was 'the bomb' Hubby got the Reuben. Totally homemade corned beef, and cabbage. Will be going back for either breakfast or lunch maybe both! read more

Incredibly good quality, delicious meals, served by super efficient waitstaff. I was shocked how fast I received my food, which was piping hot. I had the corned beef hash, which was amazing.
