Paella anyone? I bet you haven't heard that in a while. And…read morehonestly, who knew it was such a Portuguese thing too? We all know Spain made it famous, but Portugal? INSANE. Back to why I do this. I'm endlessly curious about food, people, and the magic that happens when great meals meet good music. Friendships just seem to evolve naturally around a table. And thank you, E, for another incredible photo -- your choices are always perfect. Mercado on St. Clair is a hidden gem. What was once beside my mom's flower shop downtown has now found a home in a slightly more industrial setting on Caledonia -- and somehow, it works perfectly. Cozy seating inside, a great covered patio outside, and that village-style European restaurant vibe you hope to stumble across. First off, the waiter was phenomenal. He walked us through the menu, explained everything perfectly, and genuinely elevated the whole experience. The menu is massive -- meat, seafood, everything you could want -- but we came for the paella. We were told it takes time because they make it the proper way. Not overly crispy, just authentic, rich, and layered with flavour. Worth every minute of the wait. To start, we had the gambas / shrimp in a rich red garlic and herb sauce plus extra toasted bread for dipping, per our waiter's recommendation. Absolute rockstar move. The other appetizer was a delicious beef stew served over crunchy rustic bread. Simple, hearty, and top notch. Now... drum roll please. This may have been the best paella I've ever had. Okay okay, maybe somewhere along the coast in Spain I've had one fresher... but this was absolutely off the charts. Zero fishy smell. Just beautiful saffron-infused rice with that perfect slight crisp, loaded with mussels, clams, octopus, calamari, shrimp, and more. Built for two people to share and completely unforgettable. A few glasses of house white later and bam - there was absolutely no chance I was going back to work. And dessert? I kept telling myself: "No dessert, Frank. No dessert." But there's a rule in life ; if you see crème brûlée on a menu, you order it. This wasn't exactly crème brûlée, but a cheesecake-inspired version of it. Two spoons, four bites, and thank you very much. Favourite meal of the year so far. Completely blown away by this place. Mercatto -- go now. Go fast.

Service was friendly and prompt. The food was delicious. We were a party of thee and ordered a plater that served us well. All ate from the Beira Mar platter and all meats and seafood were cooked well to order. Fantastic place for a night out or a get together with other friends family or special occasion.

The staff services are welcoming and I am very exciting to try six different types of cuisines in their tasting menu. The food presentation is excellent and all the dishes taste decent. All the ingredients are fresh, especially the seafood dishes. Once again, happy 5th anniversary to Yu Seafood Yorkdale. 1) Hokkaido seafood carpaccio (Italian cuisine) 2) Dim sum platter (Cantonese cuisine) 3) Seafood soup with morel mushroom (Hangzhou west lake style cuisine in my humble opinion) 4) Baked half lobster with cheese (French / Hong Kong fusion cuisine) 5) Okinawa bluefin tuna donburi (Japanese cuisine) 6) Sweet crystal dumplings (Chiu Chow cuisine)

It holds up throughout Toronto. Seafood is a must here and they do Alaskan snow crab really well. Wagyu dish was also fantastic as was the sea cucumber. The glazed pork was good as well. Green sea bass was solid. Lamb chops were excellent. Both soups were mediocre and I would pass on those. Abalone was cold and the alcohol marination was a miss for me. Fried rice was way too dry. Service was good with a dedicated server for the private room along with support. Cool feature is their lazy Susan's can turn on their own when the server controls it.

This was probably the most gangster diner I've had since I was 18 years old…read more I met up with my buddy from the West end of town, so naturally he picked me up in his Hummer H2 and we riding dirty all the way to the Fish Palace Restaurant. Parked the beast outside, and walked like one leg was shorter than the other into the restaurant. This was an ethnic restaurant, comprised of Jamaicans and Trinis. We met up with a higher ranking manager at our organisation, and sat together to exchanges company gossip over some beer. I never had ox tail before, and my friends highly recommended the dish to me here. Ox tail with rice it is! I felt no intimidation here, in fact, I think the locals felt more intimidated by me. I was afterall the biggest guy here, but the scare is just beginning. The place is super casual, not an ounce of needless..ness. The waitress/bartender was very friendly and always had a smile on her face. My food came. Oh my God, the food looked so simple, and it was damn good. This was ox tail? YUM! I cleaned the plate in less than five minutes, my friends were looking at me like they've just witnessed a human sacrifice. I ordered another meal of the curry chicken. The waitress couldn't contain her laughter, and padded me on the shoulder as if she was giving her baby boy the Huggie's "that's a big boy now" gesture. nom nom nom nom nom. The chicken was a bit dry, but the potatoes were pretty decent. Two plates down, and people in the restaurant thought they were looking at an exhibition at the Zoo. They've never seen a Chinese Maan devour so much food in such an barbaric manner. A gentleman actually approached me from his bar stool to congratulate me on my ferocious appetite, and high fived me. Hey! Didn't anyone ever tell you not to pet the exhibits?! lol... I was so full, I was barely able to climb back into the truck.

Got four stars because the goat curry had too many tiny bones which doesn't make it easy to bite into and the restaraunt could do a bit better esthetically. But service was fast and pleasant. I can't wait to go back and try their other dishes.

It was tasty and very filling, and I would go back if I can. Location: The location is very casual, and it's a great place to maybe grab and go or take a quick seat. They do have really nice indoor decorations and even some chair swings, which I thought was a beautiful touch to the location. Perfect for a casual date or just to grab bubble tea with friends. We were walking within our hotel distance, so I'm not really sure how parking works within this location. Service: The service was quick and efficient. Definitely some good photo spots here - they have cute swing sets and neat LED displays. It's a great place to come study (because they have OUTLETS!!) or just hang out with friends
