    Vegetarian Combination and Green Chicken
    Kendra Z.

I came here maybe 6 years ago and years later and just as good! I went here on a week day night with 2 friends and the restaurant was empty. If you've never had Ethiopian food give it a try. You get to eat with your hands! Every dish was fresh and tasty, with the vegetable combo you can try it all. We added the green chicken which was my favorite dish. The women (I'm assuming the owner) serving us a as warm and friendly. The location is in a neighborhood, with street parking, but there was plenty of parking on a weekday. I didn't have my kiddos with me, but I always take note of this and there's a changing table in the bathroom. I highly recommend Meskel, you won't be disappointed.

My girlfriend and I had a fantastic experience here today. It was her first time trying Ethiopian and my second time, first time in years. The food was fantastic. It's such a unique eating experience both with the flavors and physically eating with your hands. The owner does it all here, from waiting to cooking to serving. And she is a gem of a person. So kind and attentive and her cooking of course is top-notch. We had a long conversation with her after our meal about the state of the world. She mentioned she is looking to sell the building soon, so Meskel may not be around for much longer. What a shame that would be. If you've been on the fence about trying it, let this be your sign to go and support this phenomenal business.

Just WOW! This is hands down the best Ethiopian food I've had on the west coast, I even liked it better than the Ethiopian restaurants I've had in DC, which many will say is the best place for Ethiopian food in the US. The variety of veggie dishes was much more than other restaurants provide, but the depth of flavor was what was most amazing. Very rich flavors, and everything cooked perfectly. We are coming back and coming back often!

This was one of those times that I decided to step out of my norm and try something new....never had Ethiopian food before! But my friend has been here before...so here we go! This place is a little facility tucked into the local neighborhood. Like most places around here, it's street parking only. So it is hard describe what the food style was...so I'll just describe it. So we both selected a couple items from the menu. But when they came, they were together on a large plate. Each diner is given a large bowl that contains a type of soft spongy flatbread. Each picks up different parts from the large plate that also has some sides like salads. It's a very interesting way to eat...without silverware, but it works.

Nice food! Real authentic Ethiopian cuisine! With nice service good place for eating with friends!

Enjoyed some amazing Ethiopian food on an even better patio (we loved the lamb as well as the veggie combo). The owner was so friendly and service was great - thanks for a wonderful evening!

I went in with great expectations but was disappointed. This is close to other Ethiopian places which I think serve better/fresher food. I was welcomed by a what I perceived as rude waiter- But then I am here for the food - so i ignored. I was served food on a cold injera. When asked why is it so cold and could we have it warmed up- we were yelled at saying this is how it is served and it is fresh (I think she assumed being non-ethiopian we would be new to Ethiopian food). Anyways we continued with eating our food- the shero, Doro wot and red lentils that we ordered were all good and I had no complaints there. Red lentils were cooked a little less and felt less mushy. But considering service and cold injera- I think i would stick to the places nearby that provide a better experience

This is still THE BEST Ethiopian restaurant in Seattle. Went for dinner tonight. We've been eating here for almost 10 years..The owner is really nice and the quality of the food is always outstanding. We get the veggie combo and it has a perfect variety - so delicious! We moved away from the Central District 7 years ago and now live 30 minutes away and don't mind making the drive over there because it's that good. Highly recommend!

The combo came with a beautiful spread of veggies--cabbage, greens, split peas, lentils, and beets--along with the beef wat I selected as my meat. Everything was packed with flavor, perfectly spiced, and the portion size was just right. The presentation was thoughtful even through delivery, which is not always the case with takeout. One of the best parts? They offer gluten-free injera! That made the whole experience even better. The price itself was very fair for the amount of food you get, but like most delivery apps, the UberEats fees made the total much higher than expected. Still, the quality and flavor made it worth it. I'd love to visit Adey in person to get the full experience and ambiance when I'm here again! Since I was in town for work and too tired to go out, I specifically looked for a Black-owned restaurant that delivered, and I'm so happy I found Adey. Delicious food, great portions, and care put into every detail--I'll definitely order again next time I'm in Seattle!

The service was a little slow, but again, it was busy and there were only two people taking orders and serving. With this in mind, our food came out relatively fast. The bathroom area was also a little neglected during this busy rush with none of the sinks having paper towels, so I had to use napkins at the table to dry my hands while waiting for our food. I got an Ethiopian beer, the Zagol combo, and the lamb yebeg tibs. Everything was flavorful and paired well with the injera. The portions were pretty generous. Our meal came with 3 side injera on top of the injera plating all the veggies and meat. Between two people, we had leftovers, but a lot of it is a the injera used for plating. I wish the zagol combo had one more meat option in it, but the addition of the lamb dish was perfect. Definitely try the lamb yebeg tips because it was my favorite out of all, and we got it spicy. There's also a meat combo option on the menu as well if more meat is wanted. The beer is light and paired well with the bold flavors of these dishes. Overall I would come back again. A lot of tables had tea and I would like to try that next time.
