Maybe I caught them on an off day but I bought 3 Chicken Burritos with plenty of tasty rice, but very little chicken. One of the burritos had literally 3 little chunks of chicken, all packed to the last bite of the burrito. I'm happy to pay a good price for dinner, but not for a tortilla packed with rice. read more

Ordered tacos to go recently! Was pleasantly surprised at the huge selection they have to choose from, and somehow the variety doesn't seem to affect the quality at all. Great neighborhood spot! Ordered from here a few times with mixed results. The specialty tacos are really good. The only downside was the steak and pine nut taco comes with literally 2 pine nuts. You apparently have to ask for "extra" to get a normal amount. At $4.75 for a single taco, it's misleading to list nuts as a main ingredient and barely include them. The duck taco comes with a normal amount of walnuts. The shrimp BLT taco is very good. I also ordered the pork fajita burrito once and it was great, but the second time they added a bagged lettuce mix with raw shredded carrot that's not supposed to be there and cut it like a wrap. They're also expensive for the small size, so to order a burrito and get a salad wrap was disappointing and not great tasting. I've never had that happen anywhere else. Sometimes they include a bag of chips and tiny salsa, but sometimes not. The $4 chips and salsa was described as being "a good size bag" of chips but was the same size as the free bag. I was expecting a saucier salsa, but it's actually about a cup of pico de gallo. It was still good even though not exactly expected, but I probably wouldn't order it again. Been a huge fan of this place from back when they were a roadside food truck. Food is always fresh and made to order. Great selection for vegetarians and carnivores alike, and they always have interesting specials. The skirt steak taco is fantastic, as well as the shrimp taco, mushroom taco, pork burrito and veggie fajita burrito and more! I've dinged them a star for two reasons. First up, last time I got the pork burrito I pulled a nice long hair out of my mouth while chewing my third bite. It happens, I get it, but it was gross. Next, and a note to management on this one. Taco Tuesday is alive and well, how you're closed on Tuesday's is beyond me. In years passed they would at least open on Tuesday's during the warmer weather. They're apparently not doing that anymore. So after calling for the better part of 30 minutes we were forced to go to their competitor that is open 7 days a week. You guys would get a lot more business from our household if you were open on Tuesday's. read more

Do not go to this restaurant if you value your health. COVID safety procedures are never followed; Employees and patrons do not wear masks, social distancing is not enforced and its clear by their signage that they do not take the pandemic seriously. Also, The food is not good enough to risk getting COVID. The duck taco is the only ok thing on the menu and it is always DRENCHED in the sauce. Disappointed.. this place was FIRE! That signature mesquite chicken and steak was bomb. We gave it a few tries and it's just not the same at all since it reopened. Don't waste your time. Ordered dinner and it's overpriced and small portions. One meal was wrong and had to go back and the meal they gave me when I went back was just put together fast and without half the ingredients. When I called back they didn't care, asked if I ordered it right. This place has gone down hill since new owners. read more

We have eaten in and taken out several times. The food was good, and the decor is trendy, but the counter help were not what I would consider good food industry employees. It would be nice if they were a bit friendlier and accommodating, more service oriented and spent less time playing with their cell phones and seeming like they would rather be somewhere else. There was no soap in the men's room. This is a restaurant and COVID is still with us, fill your bathroom soap dispensers. read more

Great little neighborhood spot! The food is fresh and delicious, prices are fair. The menu is similar to Chipotle but broader and more creative. The charming duck pond across the street made the duck tacos sound a little less appealing, but I'm sure they are tasty. There isn't a ton of seating and it has a very casual vibe, but it a cute space and the atmosphere is very cozy. Right now they accept cash only, but the guy at the counter said a credit card system would be coming in a few days. Definitely worth a visit! Beautiful day for a motorcycle ride and we were looking to end the day with a low key Cinco de Mayo type dinner. We found the perfect place...the ride to the restaurant was beautiful and the food was out of this world. The black bean and beef chili was full of flavor with just the right about of heat. I had the steak blue cheese taco, the fish taco and the pork taco. All of which were nicely filled and full of flavor. Hubby had the steak burrito which was very large and also full of flavor. It seems to be more of a take out place but there were tables and a counter with stools along the windows. This will most definitely be a repeat destination on future bike rides. read more

Ehhhh.... ordered the vege fajita burrito. Way too much rice and hardly any veges; rice wasn't even listed in the ingredients. The rice was also brown rice which made it really weird. Everyone in my party felt that it was a little pricey for the menu items and the ambiance. Alcohol is not served here. Funchos in Riverhead is a better option if you are willing to drive further east. read more

I am always looking for a reason to pass by Mesquite for lunch or dinner. Their food is fresh, delicious, reasonably priced, and served with a smile in a relaxed, clean, well-considered atmosphere. Every experience I have had there has been pleasant to say the least. The fact that it's BYOB is delightful. Bring a group of friends for a fun evening catching up over great food, or bright your special someone for a cool date. Mesquite is just right for anyone, any time. Very enjoyable place. Don't understand the other reviews complaining about the customer service here, I've found it to be great. Feels like an honest friendly neighborhood business. There is a pretty full menu including an elaborate taco section if you want to try something different. I have had a couple of these, and while they were good, $5 a taco is a lot when you need 4-5 to make a meal out of it. Not saying the quality isn't there, just that $20 for a lunch is a lot for a take out place. Most will be quite happy with the simple burrito side of the menu. This is my go to order and over all I've been quite pleased. The chicken and steak can be a little dry and bland, but an extra cup of their fine salsa will fix that. The pork was a little sweet for my taste, but was done well. My favorite is the shrimp burrito which out of all of them is the boldest, most flavorful, and manages never to seem dry. The burritos are a good size and come with a packet of chips (which I wish were salted). For $8 it's a great deal. My only real gripe about this place are the hours. They are closed or have only late hours early in the week. They also seem to change depending on the day. Really more of a weekend place I guess. Maybe affects me more because I'm off early in the week, but it seems I keep going there for lunch and they're closed. They've even sent me away because they decided to close a couple hours early that day. It's also worth noting that they only accept cash. Not a knock against them- but just an FYI. read more

This is my favorite place to go for tacos. The tacos here are different, the style is more bbq than Mexican. They have a diverse selection of different tacos and burritos and everything is always fresh and well presented. They do not sell alcohol but they let you byob which can be nice. They have the craziest tacos. They have this beef brisket taco most amazing thing in the world. Had mashed potatoes and gravy and fried onion strings on it. besides normal tacos they have a lot of unique tacos that are amazing and all their food in general is bombbbb. Especially the calamri. This place was a find driving out to the north fork. We went in with no expectations. This was some of the best tacos I ever had. We shared all the tacos we purchased. This included the buffalo chicken, duck, shrimp BLT, blue cheese skirt steak, and the pulled pork tacos. Service was quick and the food was fantastic. I highly recommend stopping here. read more

After frequenting the sound beach one for years when we lived there, we now drive 35 minutes to go to the Wading River location to fix our craving. This place is amazing. You need to try the piglet nachos- not on the menu, but they make them every time! Also, the grilled shrimp wrap is delicious. We love this place and will keep coming back. read more
