I wanted a fill and my nails shortened. My set was new two months ago, white tips still on. The lady at table #2 took me. She looked at my nails and said "These nails are old." I told her they weren't, but she insisted. They were not lifting or breaking at all. She took a nail tip and started removing my nails! I was furious. She took my nails off and refused to put them back on. WHAT?!?! I walked in to Rose Nails; Ann there put acrylic snd polish on my now short nails and charged me $60 plus a $10 tip. They look fair. Not happy about that either, but that's a different review. The whole thing was ridiculous. Why didn't she just do as I asked?!?! read more

Scheduled an appointment, still waited 15 minutes for someone to start my pedicure. Lee, the tech, rushed through my pedi in 15 minutes, while the owner spent at least 45 minutes on the woman next to me. It was a basic pedi as well. Did powder dip manicure, left powder on my fingers. Sloppy. Toes & nails do not match. Mani is hot pink, toes are orange. When I pointed this out, they said "well it's the same # in the book", & "colors can fade". Never coming back here. read more

This is BY FAR the best salon I've been to in years. It's not like all the other "salon farms" out there. They really take their time with each customer, take care of their needs, and go above and beyond. My sister and I had a horrible experience here. The service was rude and pushy, and the method of soaking off polish in a bowl of acetone did major damage to the skin our hands. We left with dry, cracked skin that got worse before it got better - with help from LOADS of lotion and hand masks. Nail shape and design was not good either. 0/10 read more

Worst nail experience ever. It was rushed and painful the ombré is absolutely terrible. The nail technician cut me so bad, and didn't even acknowledge that she did. She just brushed over my blood then stuck it back in the bottle, which is extremely unsanitary. She rushed me out the door and was irritated I asked for a receipt. Today I had the worst manicure I have ever had. I was a drop in, but they were not busy at all. When I arrived, I was told where to sit. The manicure consisted of letting me pick a color from a very small selection. I need to mention that this was a dip manicure so one of the more expensive ones. To start with the manicurist did not even speak to me at all. For example, didn't ask if I wanted the nails rounded or squared. She was very rough and actually it hurts sometimes. She barely trimmed the cuticles and did not push the cuticle back at all. It'd been almost a year since I had a manicure so was looking forward to the treat. When she was done at, she spritzed the nails and sent me on my way. No lotion, no massage, no "do you like it?", nothing. I usually tip very well (20%), but she only got $2. The manicure itself looks just OK. Nothing to write home about. I won't recommend them to anyone. read more

Went to Metcalf Nail Lounge for the first time this afternoon. My daughter purchased a Seacrest Pedicure for me, her dad, for my birthday. Since I'm not a regular customer of nail salons, my review may be of less value than some others. However, the service and pedicure were great! Wendy, the technician who cared for me, was attentive, careful and provided the best sea salt scrub, mud wrap and lower leg massage that you could ask for. A wonderfully relaxing hour. I wish I would have known about pedicures years ago! I'm definitely going to become a regular customer of the Metcalf Nail Lounge and Wendy. Ask for Wendy, if available. I received a great pedicure. Then my manicurist did a horrible paint job, super streaky and frankly embarrassing. The paint was clearly watered down. This place has gone gotten worse. The whole pay before they paint your nails is the biggest ploy ever, just pay after. They need to be motivated apparently.. I'll pass next time read more

Oh, not too impressed at all. Big, roomy, clean. Eight nail stations, nine pedi chairs. But my fill was pretty mediocre... raggedy edges that I had to file myself when I got home. Plus, the tech superglued my skin to the underside of my nails when she sealed the tips, with predictably painful results. Also, it was dead silent, except for the music. None of the techs was talking to their clients at all. The vibe was kind of weirdly unfriendly. They won't let you add the gratuity to your credit card, which seems to be the new norm (other nail salons in the area have done the same.) Bring cash. read more

I used to go here allot before management changed and it was great. However my recent visit was a disaster!! I asked for a manicure and a brow wax. The guy that did my manicure was on the phone / answering the phone 99% of the time and was NOT focused on what he was doing. He neglected to trim my cuticles. Forgot to massage my hands and arms with hand lotion as they usually do, PLUS he did not give me cuticle oil. He remembered all this AFTER he painted my nails, and then had the audacity to charge me full price AND expect a tip? The other treatment was JUST as bad. The lady that did my eyebrows burnt my eyelid with hot wax, leaving a scab!! She also continued to cough and sneeze over me and at one point she coughed IN MY FACE!!!!!??? WTF? My manicure was put on so thick that it was ruined by the next morning because the paint just would not dry :( very dissappointed. I called to speak to the manager and the same guy that did my nails answered the phone, then paused for a while, faking that he did not understand me, and then said "no manager". I do NOT recommend this place. GO to Ulta or Beauty brands where you can speak to a manager if something goes wrong. read more

Went in for a fill manicure and two days later two nails were "lifting" and one nail split in half. This was my first time in the salon and I will never go back. Went in today for a polish change on my toes. I was asked by no less than 3 employees why I was not getting the full manicure? I felt like they were trying to shame me into getting the full pedi. My polish change was just ok. I had to smooth out some rough edges when I got home. Also some bubbles in the polish. When I went up to pay, I was charged $10, not $8.... like it clearly states on the price list they had at the desk. I didn't say anything, just paid and left. I won't go back...... read more

Pretty disappointed in my experience here, but would consider giving the place another chance. My pedicure was done well. I was impressed with the cleanliness here. As others said, the technicians do not talk to the customers much, but I prefer not to make small talk and just relax. The foot massage was very brief. Unfortunately, the polish was too thick on one of my big toes - it stayed gummy and never dried hours later, so I came back to have it fixed. The owner asked her daughter to do the final topcoat on my repainted toe. She is not a licensed cosmetologist, which was clear to me when watching her work, but I did ask to confirm. She put that topcoat on way too thick and lumpy again. Over 24 hours after the pedicure was done, I arrived at the beach for vacation, and quickly had sand stuck to the polish on all my toes since the polish never properly dried. read more

I visited recently while in Overland Park on business. The salon is large and well lit and easy to find. It's very clean and updated. I was waited on promptly by the proprietor Jenny Hu. I went in for a regular pedicure, trying to give them another chance as the time before I had a bad experience (poor quality pedicure), and unfortunately was not happy- again. This place is clean and conveniently located for me but will not be returning. For a second time the nail technician did not push back cuticles, did not cut cuticles, cut nails extremely short and filed them down even further. He did not communicate my preference. Polish build up is sitting on my uncut cuticles, and overall looks awful. I will not be returning. read more

The place was unorganized and the pedi was poor. They got me right in and the nail tech rushed. She never looked up and skipped several steps of a basic pedi. The polish started to pool and form a blob. She started on another client a refused to fix the overly wet toe. Some man came over and tried to fix the one toe and became stressed and he couldn't do it. The 3rd tech came over and apologized for the poor service. She painted the toe and her new appt showed up.
