My friends and I came here for a late breakfast before we parted ways and headed home. Our server was great. We had a new server so I'm thinking she had a trainer which was the other server who helped so between the both of them we got over helped. I got the eggs Benedict which was good. I was very disappointed on my first visit here. I had the meatloaf plate. I've had better meatloaf and mashed potatoes in a TV dinner. Meatloaf was like eating air and the mashed potatoes were too creamy. The atmosphere and my server was the only good part about my visit. read more

Went here for breakfast!! Amazing! The mimosas are only 2.99 which is a steal and the I got the peach challah French toast and it was AMAZING! They definitely didn't skimp on the portion. Will be returning. read more

Excellent Experience! Great atmosphere! They have phenomenal food. They provided a wide variety of options to choose from that even the pickiest family or friend would absolutely love it there. Also the waitresses are very amicable and check in on your table quite often to make sure your experience and food is at its finest. Our waitresses name was Jemma who had a cheerful disposition and was there for our every need. Then to top it off the general manager stopped by our table to visit with his customers and was very inclusive, outgoing, and positive. We just had brunch here for the first time and it was great! There was about a 25 minute wait to get a table, which was well worth it. Despite being as busy as it was, the service was fast and attentive. Our glasses were never empty and the food was out within 10 to 15 minutes even though every table being filled. The food was delicious. I got the Fried Green Tomatoes Benedict and my wife got the chicken and waffles. The chicken and waffles alone could have fed our whole family. It also came with strawberry butter that my wife loved. They also serve Bloody Marys (good but not great), mimosas, and micro brews. Best Fried Chicken! I love the chicken and waffles. The strawberry butter is to die for. Has actual pieces of strawberries as well in the butter. I normally don't like breakfast for dinner but I'll eat it at metro. Definitely get a decent amount of food for the price. We were in Augusta for a few hours shopping and decided to try the Metro Diner for lunch. Granddaughter had the shrimp and grits. It was a bit much for her, so she barely made a dent in the dish, but she did eat all the shrimp. I tried the grit cake and found it to be delicious. Hubby had the pot roast and said it was "almost as good as mine", which was his kind way of saying it was as good as mine. I tasted it and it was delicious. His mashed potatoes were just wonderful. I had the San Francisco eggs benedict. The egg yolks were almost cooked through, which left me wishing I had specified soft yolks (I assumed poached eggs were always served soft). The hash browns had little to no seasoning, and when you salt food after it's cooked, you just taste salt. So, I was disappointed with my dish, but impressed with the pot roast dish and the grit cake. Our wait was less than 30 minutes, and our server was great. We would come back the next time we're in the area. read more

It was a busy Sunday morning so the 30 minute wait wasn't unusual. This was our first time trying this place and we heard so many great things. We decided to sit at the bar so we would not have to wait much longer for a table. I feel as though had I sat at a table I would've had a better experience. Being able to see the kitchen turned me away for good. If you get your eggs scrambled, you're getting the same eggs that McDonald's serves (fake, out of a bag). They were extremely loud and they pre cooked food and held it under a warmer until someone had ordered it. Wouldn't be a problem but I saw one plate there for almost 45 minutes before someone even got it! The service was great. Food wasn't all that great. Definitely won't be going back read more

One of the best breakfasts in Augusta! Great atmosphere, diverse menu, delicious food and decent service. They short staff servers so getting coffee or drink refills is slow and almost impossible after you get the check. From the kitchen Everything was well prepared with generous portions. Definitely will make this one of our regulars. Loved sitting at the counter and watching the cooks .... they're one heck of a team to watch. Lunch is good here as well .... seating is relatively fast, Order is taken and food comes out at a comfortable pace ... again.. once the food is served typically the server gets scarce. Came back months later. The service wasn't just bad.... there wasn't any. No seating hostess, took a table at 10:10 asked to see the manager at 10:25. Never got 'noticed' by a server until I got up and asked for the manager..... at that point a server came over an interrupted our discussion and said she told another server I'd been there a while....what's wrong with that picture is that ANY server that sees a customer not being waited on should jump in...won't be back. That kind of service reflects on big underlying problems with management and staff. read more

Fresh, delicious, plentiful! We had a little trouble deciding what to order with all the tempting offerings on the menu. It's been a long time since I've seen a Monte Cristo on a menu, so I embraced my good fortune. It was worth every calorie! It was enormous, so I took home half! My husband had the beef tips dinner. Update: Returned on 3/2/18 and had Gavin as a server. He was fantastic, and made us want to keep coming back. He was attentive and professional. 2/23/18: We love the food here, and eat here at least one a week. The last couple of times we have been here, including tonight, the service has been BEYOND HORRIBLE. I actually have found myself asking the last two times we were there WHERE IS MANAGEMENT? I left our server a $6 tip tonight, more than 20%, but he in NO way deserved that. We saw him when he took our order and when we asked him for our check. We had to ask another server for straws. We had to ask another server to refill our drinks. When our order was not right, another server fixed it. When our actual server came back over, about 45 minutes after taking our order, he asked if he could take our order. I am not being funny when I write this, but something wasn't right. When he asked if he could take our order after we had already finished our meals, I told him we just wanted our checks. After reading all the rave reviews we went for breakfast and probably won't be back. First off we were the first customers in the door. We had to keep asking for refills on our coffee (ugh big pet peeve), and when our food arrived it did look appetizing, but it was cold. Just had lunch at the Metro Diner on Washington Road, a great experience from beginning to end! Our server made us feel so welcome and made sure we had everything we needed throughout our meal. The food was delicious, served piping hot as well. I had the Turkey plate and it was some of the most juicy, tender turkey breast Ihave ever had. First visit to Metro today. Had the special Chicken Salad Special this afternoon. Dry stale "toast" with chicken salad, tomato and melted cheese. Chicken was over cooked and dry. Tomato had no seasoning, not even salt. Was not edible. No refill offered for our drinks. We asked for more napkins, waitress curtly said no. Later she brought them. I like to try diners, they are usually unique. This one however, is a chain diner and not very unique. The food was decent, the service OK, but definitely a chain diner. I'll probably go back, since there are no real good diners left in Augusta, except maybe Ruth's. read more

Ate there last Saturday night. Got there about 5 and were seated right away. The service was fast and friendly. I had the Cajun pasta. It was quite good. My granddaughter had the chicken and waffles and brought half home for lunch the next day. This is our new favorite place to eat. read more

Came in with a party of 5, by time the food came out only mine was cold. The server was very polite, but he didn't really check on us after we got our food. The hashbrowns on 2 of the plates were burnt. The portions were pretty generous though so that is a plus. Finally, the wait for our food once we ordered was pretty excessive, about 40 min.
