The food was great - all three of us enjoyed our entrees. The service was also wonderful. Be prepared for a wait if you show up at 10:00 on a Saturday morning - but there is a fairly large waiting area and they provide water and coffee while you wait. Stopped in because the parking lot was crowded on a weekday and now we know why. The food and service are top notch. I had an avocado veggie wrap that was outstanding and the onion rings were crispy and not greasy at all. Everything was delicious. This was our first time here and and we plan to be back. Our server kept making sure that everything was okay and gave us recommendations when we couldn't decide on what to get (the options are endless and everything sounds good!). Worst Bloody Mary I've ever had-- not even drinkable. We also had terrible service when it was busy, but maybe it was a bad day. The food i would say is very mediocre, classic "American breakfast" with big portions but in my mind nothing special, not worth going out to eat. So we decided to try less expensive options. The waffle and the pancake were okay but they were awfully depressing and small based on their price. We've decided to give Metro Diner another try and see if the price tag is worth it. All the tables around us certainly looked like it was. It's good, not great. Lunch and dinner are better than breakfast, though the rolls are worth trying. Metro Diner is okay. I'm not sure it knows what it is. Is it southern comfort food? Metro Diner starts off as a stand out on Washington Road with a very inviting exterior. You'll arrive and see that almost every weekend there's people waiting outside(so it has to be good) especially on hangover Saturdays. You'll come in and it's a nuthouse. Super busy but you'll forget all about it once that food hits your table. Today, we got chicken and waffles x2, biscuits and gravy, turkey sausage, and I had a Bloody Mary. Let me tell you, this is the best chicken and waffles you'll ever have. The waitress will come back shortly after taking your order with a small dish of maple syrup that she'll put hot sauce in. I was confused like what is she doing. It's the sauce for your chicken and waffles. Sweet and spicy. Your waffles will come with a strawberry cream cheese/butter esq stuff on it. It hits every taste bud sweet,salty, spicy, crunchy, and soft. It's amazing. Not only was that great we had some really good turkey sausage with a side of biscuits and gravy. Their biscuits and gravy was good but if you're used to it the way I am you'll want to add a lot of pepper to it. It really needs it. To wash it all down I had a Bloody Mary, it's pretty decent size and is well rounded in taste. Spicy and peppery. I'd recommend it just might want to break off the top so you don't have the leaves from the celery slapping you in the face every time you take a sip lol. All in all 10/10 best breakfast place in Augusta I'd recommend it to anyone visiting or in the nearby area. I will be back. read more

Excellent food. This is the first Monte Christo sandwich I have had that was prepared correctly in years. My wife had a low country boil frittata that was super tasty. And the grits were done to perfection and loaded with cheese. The wait for a table was a bit long, but the servers were fast, knew the menu inside out, and the kitchen got the food out quickly. Even the coffee was high quality. This is one place in Augusta that lives up to my standards for breakfast and lunch. We're going to go back for dinner one night to try their dinner menu. read more

Have heard good things about this place so I was going to check it out. Did not get to eat. Was waiting to be seated and witnessed a waitress walk to the serving line several times, wipe her nose with her and handle food on the serving line. Even saw her return to serving her tables without washing her hands. Picked up trash off the floor placed it in the trash and went back to the serving line.
