It is very easy to give Metro Diner a five star rating ~ breakfast was absolutely perfect. The restaurant was nice and clean, our server was the friendly Joanna ~ just look for the lovely lady with the hat and huge smile! Both egg dishes were incredible and exactly as ordered...fluffy, light scrambled and over easy. The hash browns and bacon were crispy and delicious and those pancakes....everything truly hit the spot and were right on. Even the rye toast, sliced thick and served with whipped butter was wonderful. The specials and desserts on the chalkboard looked fantastic...lemon blueberry bread pudding, lemon blueberry waffles/pancakes (be still my heart!), blackened chicken quesadillas....just to name a few....and enough to keep us coming back for more! Pancakes were so amazing I had to go back the next day for their lemon blueberry specials. Omg, then I found out the French toast was delicious as well. The ratio of buttery goodness is absolutely perfect. Friendly service and customers at the breakfast bar. I ate alone and got what I called an upgrade. Man oh me. I haven't been to a diner in ages so it's hard for me to compare, but I must say - this place will put some meat on your ribs. The biscuits in gravy - this dish seemed to be never ending. Hearty, big generous portions, yummy, and definitely not healthy - but do you come to a diner to eat healthy? That's a big fat no. I love the combinations where you can pick and choose your sides so we all ordered different things from scrapple to grits to biscuits, etc. It's a newer diner and so it's fairly clean and love the bright warm lights.
