A great diner for brunch, i got the fried chicken Benedict, it was tasty and get flavored. Also it was crunchy with the fried chicken. The service was excellent, our server Natalie took good care of us. I like this location better than the one in Pineville, it has more space. Great experience overall.

We ordered via UE so can't speak on the actual location. Emmanuel over the phone was very kind. We ordered Turkey and dressing meal, Chicken Finger meal (Asked for them to be grilled) with Mashed potatoes and gravy, salad, Chicken Pot Pie and Honey Teriyaki Chicken bites. Everything was good!!! I didn't like the dressing but I'm picky with dressing but everything was good.

What's up with the bathroom in that place . You can literally see from both ends . No Privacy when you gotta go to the bathroom. Men deserve privacy as much as women do too. Food is good and service as well but the bathroom situation needs to be fixed

I haven't been here in over a year and it's such a wonderful feeling to see that the food and service is still great. Also I'm happy to see that they've decided to try shrimp and grits without the grit cakes. The ambience is open and friendly, you're seated close enough to make a friend but far enough to not hear any personal conversations. This has and always will be one of my favorite little spots. They didnt have mimosa flights before so I definitely got one, the orange juice was my least favorite flavor but only because the OJ was way too tart/sour. The blueberry lemon pancake was delicious (chefs kiss) and the omelette was full of meat and veggies just how I like it. My favorite meal here is the chicken and waffles, it's so worth the price and your tummy will love you for life. My sis ordered it and demolished it before I could snap a pic. The most beautiful, brown and crispy chicken and waffles I've ever laid eyes on. If you haven't given this spot a try, what in the world are you waiting on. Don't walk, run run run

I used DoorDash to get rid of a sweet tooth I had. I ordered the croissant french toast. The croissant wasn't as flaky as I'd like, but it was still good. It was hot when delivered. This was my first DD order from here. I usually stop by for a take out order.

This is my first time frequenting Metro and let me just say they did not disappoint! The food was delicious and the service was superb! Our server Dino was outstanding. I would come back here 100 times over!!!!

Cute little dinner! Stopped here on a whim while traveling through town. We specifically wanted brunch which is why we stopped here. There were tons of adult breakfast drinks from bloody Mary's to mimosas and flavored coffees. Our waitress was really nice and told us all about daily specials. I ordered the pumpkin pancake stack- holy. Carp. They were so good. My fiancé got the croissant French toast and said they were good too. We could have split but honestly, I'm glad I have leftover.

Now this is a chain I've never heard of but I feel like I've been living under a rock because it's now one of my favorite breakfast joints! I love the old school diner aesthetic, and the meat lovers scramble was phenomenal! From cinnamon roll pancakes to croissant French toast their breakfast menu has a lot to offer so I am going to have to go back and make several visits! I also need to head back for lunch because I've been told their cheesesteak is top notch as well.

    Here we go Metro!

There is a sign inside this restaurant that says that this where the locals come to eat. Well I believe it. You can eat breakfast here all day. Boom. This place was approved by Guy from diners, drive inns and dives and after I ate their famous meat loaf it has got my approval as well. Guy has to drive along way to get here. I am a local and only have to drive five minutes to get to this awesome feast fest restaurant. They also sell a lot chicken and waffles plates here. Real onion rings as well. God Bless all my fellow foodies.

When we pulled up, there was a police outside, which didn't bother us. If anything, it made things feel more secure. They also use a metal detector when you walk in before being seated. Don't let that scare you off though -- this place is a well-oiled machine and everything felt organized and under control. Our server was fantastic: calm, attentive, and never pushy. I ordered the country fried steak with collards and mashed potatoes with gravy, and my husband got a burger. My meal was excellent, and it came with a perfectly flaky biscuit. The tea was Southern SWEET tea, too. My husband said his burger was good for a diner, fresh vegetables and the fries were seasoned well. The diner itself is adorable, full of character and charm. Overall, we had a great experience and would absolutely come back.

A diner, with their wide menu, works well. And our lunch today at Mattie's was excellent. We arrived right at the tail end of the lunch rush. A friendly hostess brought us to the last booth in the front section of the restaurant and then a waitress took our drink orders. Lots of shouting and "Order ready!" from the kitchen while we looked over the menu and then placed our orders. About ten minutes later, a plate of French Toast with vegan sausage on the side for Mrs. K. Light, fluffy, delicious. The sausage was great! For me, Mattie's Mom's Meatloaf. A massive thick slice of meatloaf topped with melted cheese, grilled onions and spicy marinara. My two sides, a creamy cole slaw and green beans with bacon were excellent. We both enjoyed our meals. Neither of us could finish the huge plates! Five stars, will definitely return. [Review 649 of 2025 - 4136 in North Carolina - 24210 overall]

But the Bestie that wanted to have this met me in the parking lot scared there would be cross contamination and wanted to go elsewhere. He's been a dedicated vegan since 2008 or 2010. Either way, this ain't for play nor show. He's principled. The other vegan is really pescatarian and could careless. I have severe allergies and definitely care if there's cross contamination. Young lady seating is asked about how the cooktop works for vegan items: 1) is there a separate cooktop? 2) are new utensils used? They did a good job answering and owning what they didn't know but sought someone to answer the questions. Young lady showed us the place where we'll sit and she would go get answers and be right back. She never came back. Alas, the server showed up and he didn't know either nor did anyone ask him or inform him. I had to clean the table and seats were more upsetting to me. The busboy popped nearby and I asked for his spray bottle and he apologized saying he'd clean. H wiped everything but dried nothing. Server returned without answers but someone got another guy to explain their process. He was helpful. I was content. I can say pics on Yelp leave much to be desired but I got the chicken fried chicken + mashed potatoes and sweet potato waffle fries. The vegans got their food first and we got an explanation. I didn't care. Bring it as it's ready. I understand. Plus y'all know vegan cheese doesn't melt. Lol. I didn't desire their vegan breakfast quesadilla nor padrino (I think that's what one had). See pictures. I must say I wanted to get the greens but I will definitely order them on another visit. The vegan ordered vegan pancakes for All to try. I like the crispy edges of any pancake but didn't need the pecans. The vegan butter and syrup was impressive. We got a lot of apologies in due time as 1) straws were forgotten 2) soup of day query was forgotten 3) refills forgotten 4) table wasn't cleaned 5) Milkshake was delayed but hey ... It takes as long as it takes. But I didn't order it so I can't say. I was most bothered the itemized check was taken away so I don't have an image for this review but also BECAUSE a huge convo took place regarding the tip. A new immigrant to the USA was amongst us AND had legit questions so I was happy to explain but their receipts show 20% totals and higher for tipping yet this receipt show the total with tax. Tips for on the pre-tax total. Long and short I can recommend 1) fried chicken fried 2) sweet potato waffle fries 3) mashed potatoes 4) brown and light gravy 5) vegan pancakes 6) American potatoes looked great but I didn't touch em as I had plenty Parking is rough. Cleanup in between flipping/turning tables doesn't really happen in the overflow and I'm good on that. Like, sweeping and wiping can be done between tables and as parties depart. The staff is younger like everyone appear to be teens which led a dining member inquire where are the adults? I think I saw 1. There is an overflow parking lot.

The food wasn't much to base my review on, as it was a really simple item that they managed to muck up because they added bacon despite me asking for none, likely because they didn't believe people would not want meat. America is a unique and vibrant country. And sometimes, to experience its true atmosphere, warmth,…read moreand diversity, you don't have to look for anything extraordinary. Sometimes, all you need to do is walk into a nearby Diner. A Diner is a place where you can truly immerse yourself in wonderful American traditions, experience genuine respect for others, and get a feeling for what a particular neighborhood is all about. It's not simply a place to have breakfast. It's a small but important part of the community -- a place where, over a cup of coffee and a good meal, you can feel the local atmosphere, see the people, hear their conversations, and, for a little while, become part of everyday American life. Today, our family breakfast turned into a wonderful collection of bright emotions and pleasant discoveries. Completely by chance, we discovered a beautiful new place in North Carolina -- Big View Diner. And the experience begins even before you walk through the door. You immediately notice how clean and well-kept everything is. Once inside, you are welcomed by beautiful design, a warm and cozy atmosphere, and, most importantly, genuine human kindness. Today, our wonderful experience was made even better by Maria, the lovely and friendly young woman who took care of us. Her beautiful Spanish smile, natural Latin warmth and hospitality, combined with attentive yet professional and never intrusive service, made us feel welcome from the very first minute. And then comes the most important part -- the food! The wonderful kitchen team, using fresh ingredients from local markets and farmers' markets, turns an ordinary breakfast into a little work of culinary art. And it is in places like this that you realize something very simple: American culture is not only about skyscrapers, highways, and big cities. It is also about small neighborhood Diners where the tradition of meeting, talking, sharing a smile, and simply enjoying time together is still alive. Today we experienced exactly that -- warmth, hospitality, wonderful service, delicious food, and the feeling that we had discovered another little corner of the real America. A big thank-you to Maria and the entire Big View Diner team for giving our family such a wonderful morning! Sometimes, you don't need to search for something grand to feel the soul of America. All you need to do is walk into a good Diner.
