Place was dirty, the floor has this greasy slick film. Be cautious when you walk! Bathrooms were nasty. I had pumpkin pancake special that was cooked on same griddle as onions so you could taste pumpkin/onions. My husband ordered sweet tea with lemon . The waitress brought brown lemons in a small bowl. I asked if we could have fresh ones, her reply was "they all look like that" YUCK! Lettuce was also brown on my husband's fried chicken sandwich. Use to be a good place to eat... Place was really chill and the food was good. I assume it was going to be just ok but once in the establishment I had a great time. This restaurant is probably my favorite breakfast place to go to because they always have good food. We take all of our friends here for a great brunch breakfast or lunch.Also the food never takes very long to come out of the kitchen right onto our table. One of my favorite dishes from this place is the chicken and waffles because they serve the special butter with it made from a hot sauce, butter, and syrup. Other than that they have other great dishes for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Five out of five stars, would recommend anybody wanting a good meal to go here. read more

Ate there this evening-I had fish and chips and my husband had the spicy honey chicken sandwich. I'm a "slaw snob" and it was fresh and good. Great coffee, too. Our server, Hannah, was attentive and friendly. I don't prefer to go on Saturdays because of the crowd but tonight , a Wednesday, with storms predicted the restaurant wasn't full at all. when Metro Diner lost my business for ever!!!! During my recent visit to Metro Diner on 9/26/19. I approached the host who smiled and asked to help me. I inform her I was joining my family who had already been seated. The host replied a simple "ok". I walked past the hostess' stand, turned a corner and observed a calm open seating environment with tables spread around an open dinning room and a row booths In a line separating a small bar. I observed extra chairs lined against the wall. I was overjoyed to meet my three brothers and sisters and excited to enjoy some good food. Our family often eats out; and just as some background I have 15 years of experience as a corporate restaurant manager prior to becoming a medical professional. As I approach the table and hugged my family I notice there was not an empty chair after awkwardly standing over my seated family for several long minutes I pulled a chair from the row against the wall and sat down. I started chatting n catching up w my family everyone smiling and enjoying our experience. This is when Metro Dinner lost my business forever. My server approached (named Kelley). She placed her hand on the back of my chair and stated you can't sit here. I need you to stand up so I can take the chair until we find another seat for your party. embarrassed and looking at 10 or more other places she could have moved us all or just me prior to this approach I sat there debating what to do; stand and hover over my loved ones, go to the bar, or leave. She offered me no other options but to get up. She made no offer of a place for me to sit/wait nor a time frame of how long an alternative seat would take. She didn't smile or lower her voice to avoid embarrassing me. This server costed Metro my lifelong business. No manager spoke with me prior to Kelley asking in a empty diner for me to stand. So I left out of embarrassment. I won't ever visit this throw back diner that has created great food in an atmosphere subjected to unfriendly untrained servers like Kelley. read more

My family and I were looking for a different breakfast place. It looked like there were some good reviews for Metro Diner. I ordered a meat omelet, hash browns, and a pancake. The omelet was actually decent enough, but the hashbrowns had not been seasoned or salted at all. By far the worst was the pancake though. I can honestly say I had never had a chewy pancake, but I can mark that off my list. I guess they added too much mix into the batter to have it come out like that. There doesn't seem to be good quality control over the food. The staff did seem friendly and the service was prompt. I can't give more than 2 stars based on the quality of the food. Unfortunately, my quest for a breakfast alternative will have to continue. read more

I was awaiting the opening of this restaurant since i had been to one in florida, the mimosas were great to start the meal off, the chicken and waffles were had by my daughter and she loved the butter that came with her meal, my husband had the omelet and was pleased, i had the cinnamon bun pancakes and they were amazing, we had a party of 4 with 3 having a military id, we asked if they offered a military discount and were told yes but they seemed reluctant to give it to us, all in all good service til the end when management seemed not to believe we qualified for the military discount read more

My husband and I just discovered this place about a month ago and have been frequenting it every Sunday since. The first time our food was awesome and my husband loves their Margaritas. The second time, his food was great, but mine was questionable. It was cold, but still okay. This last time I ordered the fish and it too was cold upon arrival and absolutely no taste. Our waiter was great and was more than happy to send it back and allow me to get something else. So I chose the Monte Cristo. It too was cold and greasy upon arrival. I took it home with me because my husband by this time had already finished his meal. I still couldn't do anything with it at home and ended up trashing the whole thing. I will try them again because the manager was great and nice enough to comp both items, but I think we will wait a while before returning. They're very busy on Sundays when we like to go so we may just try a different time slot. read more

We ordered a special which was a cheeseburger Benedict. The first time it came out, the hamburger was raw and the eggs were runny. We sent it back to be re cooked. When it came out the second time, the hamburger was a little better and even though we asked for eggs to be poached hard, they were still runny!! We also had omelettes which were nothing special. Wow is the best way to describe their food. The coffee is perfect. The biscuits and gravy are the closest thing you'll ever get to being like granny's. The facility is clean and the food is good. Tried many options and haven't had any disappointment. Only flaw is the outside seating is dependent on the person we ate there in the winter and they told us the heaters kept it warm, while it did warm up it was still chilly to us. Wait time is mediocre but considering how awesome they are it's understandable. Good amount of seating while you wait too. I'd recommend anyone to go here. read more

I went for brunch today around noon and it was amazing. I got $2.99 mimosas, and a breakfast platter. The bartender was FANTASTIC. I saw her checking on tables, running food, all while keeping up with drink orders. Our server was so fast and sweet as well! She ran our drinks to us quick, and always made sure we had refills. Tasty food cannot make up for bad service. Went for a birthday and the fried chicken was room temperature. Decided to give it another try today... was told we had to wait even though there were empty tables, then another table walked in and they seated the right away!! In front of us!!!! We were a table of 2 and the other group was 4, so no excuse about only having a specific size table available. When we told the pack of teens manning the front desk that we were leaving because they just seated a table in front of us (no reservation btw) we got no apologies or offer to fix it.
