Had the pleasure of having breakfast at this Metro Diner in Savanah GA. It did not disappoint. When I arrived the place qas packed. The hostess Hailey said the wait would be about 10-15 minutes and she was right. We were seated in that time. We ordered the avocado toast which had great portions for the price. Also ordered the eggs Benedict over fried chicken on biscuit with a side of corn beefed hash. The food here is really delicious. I first visited this restaurant in Jacksonville, Florida some years ago so when I saw this location in Savannah, I knew I had to eat there. Sure enough the shrimp and grits were out of this world!! The grits were not too soft but not too hard either. Some places make it too gooey or too cakey. This was just the right balance! And the creamy sauce they add to the dish makes it extra savory!!! Be sure to check out my photos. It was a big portion even after I let others try my grits. I highly recommend this dish if you like shrimp and grits!! Service was also great too! Metro is usually 5 stars all the way- but our table wasn't wiped down properly and that means there is room for improvement. I am not a fan of crumbs on the table. But- everything else after cleaning the table was stellar! Service impeccable~ and oh the food! John and I were just saying how we hadn't been to a Metro Diner since moving in January- that's a long time for us, as Metro is one of our home favorites. We were thrilled when looking up potential pit stops for lunch to see Metro listed as a restaurant near us! The specials for the day included an herb roasted chicken plate with mashed potatoes and green beans and as soon as I read it I thought- that's what John will get. And he did! I went with their turkey plate~ one of my favorites! Complete with cornbread stuffing, mashed potatoes, delicious gravy, green beans and even a little cup of cranberry sauce! A feast! Neither of us finished- aka- to go boxes. The food is simply great at Metro- and consistency is key in franchising, and they have it down! From the very start, we had a wonderful experience here on 3/9/2025 at dinner. The hostess was really nice and cleaned a booth per my request. Our server, Greta, was sincere, helpful with suggestions, and prompt. The manager was friendly and assisted in making our experience great. Absolutely the best food I've eaten during my stay while in Savanna Georgia. I had a beautiful veggie omelette with asparagus in bite size pieces that were nice and tender. The grits were perfect and creamy and the biscuit was light and fluffy with the perfect brown crispy bottom and top. I had also requested a side of avocado which was a half of avocado portion. I was told they serve mimosas so of the choicest of orange, pineapple or pomegranate, I chose pineapple. The mimosa was Very potent but I am a lightweight. Lol My husband had the meat lovers omelette with wheat toast and grits. Needless to say he thoroughly enjoyed his breakfast as well. I shared my avocado with him but keep yo hands off my mimosa and biscuit. As I watched them pull orders for all the chicken and waffles I was dazed with the scrumptiousness of those tall stacks of waffles and perfectly Golden fried chicken and tall piled hamburgers. The restaurant was very clean and beautifully modern and all the employees smiled as if you just made their day. This restaurant is in Pooler Georgia and only 10 minutes from Savanna. I like staying here on a holiday because Savanna is packed with tourists although it wasn't to bad this weekend due to people staying home because of COVID. This is definitely a must try if you are near here or coming to Savanna Georgia. Edit I went back the next day and had the Chicken and Waffles with strawberry butter and spicy syrup for dipping my chicken. You get a half of a chicken which is fried to a perfect golden brown and juicy moist inside next to a deep Belgian waffle. I had to have a cup of those creamy grits as well with my coffee. The waitress today was also very sweet and proficient, keeping cups filled and making sure we we had everything we needed and wanted. I went to Metro Diner just after 10:00 AM on a Saturday. The diner hours are 8 AM - 8 PM, and the Tanger Outlets open at 10 AM. We had a party of 2 and the hostess said the wait was 15-20 minutes. We waited for 25 minutes when the host asked our name again. (I received a confirmation text, so I know she put us in). She said it would be a few more minutes. We did not get a table until waiting for 50 minutes. We looked up the menu online, so we were ready to order when we sat. We waited only a minute for the waitress so greet us and take our orders. I had the Southwest Burrito Press and my boyfriend had the Steak & Scrambled Bowl, and we both ordered a coffee. Everything was delicious!!! The menu states a side is included with the burrito press, so I ordered the fruit. I was charged a 50 cent fee for an upgraded side. This was not noted on the menu, and the waitress did not tell me ahead. Overall, I would dine here again and definitely recommend. read more

Loved breakfast here so much, we went 2 days in a row!!! Bottomless coffee, great service and fantastic food. If I lived nearby I suspect I would have favorites for each meal. Seriously. I know it a chain/franchise - but the food and people were that good, at least for breakfast. The side of biscuits and gravy was literally meal size, and great! Flavorful sausage and biscuits as good as any southern diner I've been to. The chicken and waffles is a must have, but be warned, you will need a nap afterwards! They mix the hot sauce and maple syrup at the table. It's so simple and delicious, I got mad at myself for not doing it at home before!!! I do now though!! Really. Go here. This place was alright! Super conveniently located by a shipping center, we had flown in early in the morning and wanted to treat our friend who picked us up from the airport to breakfast. He chose this place, saying he came here all the time. We all kind of suck and the three of us each ordered the western omelette. We just varied if we got toast or biscuit and hash browns or breakfast potatoes. The omelette was okay, pretty standard. I didn't love the salsa on top, it kind of tasted like jarred salsa. The biscuit was really good, and I liked how the potatoes were seasoned. Overall good experience, I wouldn't have a problem coming back. I wanna try the chicken and waffles! I think I thought I was being healthy by ordering the omelette, so I'll indulge a bit next time. read more

We almost didn't come in based on the reviews. I'm so glad we gave them a chance, our breakfast was delicious. My husband and I are foodies, we've tried several spots in Pooler, this place has well seasoned cooked to satisfaction meals. I ordered the fried chicken egg Benedict. My husband ordered the breakfast Burger. The chicken had a great seasoned tastes with a great crunch in every bite without it tasting greasy. Definitely visiting them again to try different meals on the menu. Customer service was great, waitress had a few tables but still managed to check up on us. Over all enjoyed our meal! This place is fantastic! Food is served fresh and piping hot; you could literally see the steam coming off it. Portions are generous. I did notice something returned to the kitchen from another table, but they made it right without a big deal. We were well taken care of by our server as well as another guy (manager?) who kept dropping by to refill drinks and check on people. You can tell management really cares about service and southern hospitality here. My favorite was the fluffy & soft Belgian Waffle with Strawberry Butter and second were the delicious Mashed Potatoes & Gravy. It was all good though. The Cornbread Stuffing under the Roasted Turkey didn't really taste like stuffing, which was a blessing for me because I hate regular stuffing. CONS: Soda carbonation is off, so you may not like it. There was a $2 up-charge when requesting white meat for the Chicken Platter that we weren't told about. As we were dining here for the first time, we didn't immediately notice the daily specials board and a small mention of it before we ordered would have been nice. I was in town for work, and a coworker and I were looking for some breakfast near the hotel. We stumbled on this place on yelp, and decided to give it a try since it looked like a local diner, and we all know local businesses are the best! We didn't have to wait long to be seated as it wasn't too busy when we came. I ended up having the steak and scramble bowl with a cup of coffee. Metro Diner is the perfect casual and quick spot connected to the outlet mall. The location is great when you are hungry after shopping all day. The guy at the front desk was so friendly and welcoming. He was so gracious and made us feel very welcome. The place isn't large but there are a ton of tables and booths. The restaurant looked very clean and tidy. There were a few crumbs left behind on the table we were about to sit at and the man seating us changed our table assignment and apologized profusely. When we left he apologized again. He showed the true professionalism. We ordered classic diner food and loved everything. The portions are large and the quality was evident. The locals do eat here, trust me. Metro Diner is a great place with great food, great service, and all at a great price. Let's start off with the food, It's always good but it does come out at a relatively slow speed. We usually go there for breakfast so I can't say much about lunch, but breakfast is always great. I can recommend the Cinnamon roll pancakes and although this was taken off the menu, the French Dip. The service is always great with smiling faces and nice people all across the board. I can't recall ever coming here with anything below good service. I do have to say the wait time to get in and the actual atmosphere is sub par, but aside from that, I do think that you should come here at least once, when you do, I hope you enjoy! read more

We had a twenty minute wait to be seated but the wait was so worth it! The food was fantastic! and so was the service. We both had the Bissell breakfast which for me, 2 scrambled eggs, two slices of rye toast, four slices of bacon which was cooked perfectly, grits which I had with brown sugar and raisins, and a short stack of pancakes which was three pancakes. I also had the chai tea. My husband breakfast had the Bissel breakfast with two eggs over easy, hash browns which also was delicious, two slices of rye toast and a short stack of pancakes. The chicken and waffles is a lot of food so I would say it's worth the price, especially since this location is in an outlet mall. The chicken was just okay at best. The waffles and strawberry butter were amazing!!!! That was the first time I had strawberry butter and I hope it's not my last. My wife thought the southwest meal was a little expensive for the food, but she still enjoyed it. The kids meal was good and a great portion. One negative is that the changing table in the women's restroom was unavailable due to the stall being closed. The atmosphere was fun and light and the wait staff was friendly. read more
