Food was great, plenty of options. Decent portions. Nice casual ambience. Service wasn't great. Maybe server was ready to get off and enjoy his Sunday..

This is a medium size spot on a corner of a stop style shopping center. They have inside seating with a small patio seating. There is always a wait so plan for that. The service is good and they are polite. Today I had chicken and waffles. The waffles were nice and fluffy. It comes with a strawberry butter and it tastes like strawberry ice cream to me, but of courses it just butter. It also comes with "spicy syrup". It's syrup with hot sauce in it. It good with the chicken but I don't want it over my waffles. The chicken was fried a little too hard for me and it wasn't hot. It also could use a little more seasoning. You get a whole half chicken in pieces. I also got scramble eggs with American cheese. These were very yummy. The mimosa I got with pineapple juice instead of Orange and it too was yummy. Overall it was good. Go hungry but not starving because you will have to wait.

Great service , delicious food, comfortable booth and fun vibe. I had the mimosa flight. Very fun and they all tasted great. Orange, pineapple, strawberry, cranberry. Then I had the avocado toast with everything except the eggs. It was delicious. Especially the feta cheese. Daughter had the burger and fries and loved it. We will certainly return.

Food: 4 Service: 3.5 Ambience: 3 Date/Time: 2/19/2026 6pm Crowd: 1/2 full Order: Chicken Croissant sandwich It seemed like the entire wait staff had been changed or the usuals weren't working this day. The usual servers were pretty good. The one serving today had no personality and seemed to have a chip on his shoulders. At the end, I was somewhat successful in getting smile out of him but it didn't last. He did the job ok but certainly didn't look like he enjoyed it. The Chicken Croissant sandwich was good as usual with plenty of chicken salad on it. It's still a decent place to get a good variety of food options even if the server presentation was less than desirable.

The food was excellent, I got the Bissell breakfast. With some cinnamon butter on the side. The bathroom was clean, our whole party really enjoyed their food. The host Dom i believe is his name initially he said a table of 6 would be an hour wait time on a busy Saturday. Then I asked about spilting the tables 3 and 3 to which he accommodated easily. Then when we saw where we were seating & that there was some empty tables after speaking to him he easily worked it out so all 6 of us can sit together. His service was above & beyond. Now the waitress brooklyn took care of all of us Iike she was servicing family at home. She was excellent, attentive and a reason we will come back to eat there. Once again we were all pleased with the staff, the speed of the food coming to our table even on a busy day, it being clean as well. I definitely recommend coming here.

With a bustling midday crowd on a weekday, this can truly be categorized as a community favorite. We dined as a party of 3 ( 2 adults - 1 child). After an initial service snafu, we found the service to be timely and courteous. Food offerings solid. Upon reflection I'd most likely order something different. If I'm in the area, I'd definitely dine here again. Chain brunch/lunch/dinner: 3.75

My food was good flavorful but cold. I hate a cold waffles. The steak bowl was hot and filling I recommend it just get your steak medium. The ambience and service was great. Bathroom was clean and no wait for a table.

We had just rolled into town after our road trip and were ready for brunch. I researched Metro Diner having a few locations, all with great reviews, so it seemed like a best bet first stop. We checked in around 2 PM and the place was busy. We chose outdoor seating and even though it was warm, it wasn't that Miami heat, so we were perfectly happy enjoying the outside. It also got us seated a little quicker. We had some time to look at the menu while waiting and ended up ordering the chicken and waffles, meat lovers scramble bowl, the Bissell Breakfast, and the biscuits and sausage gravy with eggs and hash browns. Our food came out pretty quickly and maybe, just maybe, it was the long ride talking, but this foodie family likes to taste each other's dishes and we all agreed everything hit. My chicken and waffles came with a strawberry butter. Yep, that was hitting. The cheesy grits with the Bissell Breakfast, hitting. The gravy on the biscuits, also hitting. And that scramble bowl that was loaded with meaty goodness, you guessed it, hitting. Our waitress was super friendly and took great care of us the entire time, which made our meals hit even better. Safe to admit Metro was a 'hitting' first choice on our Raleigh visit.

Metro Diner is a great comfort food establishment. I have been to this restaurant on Falls of Neuse Road in Raleigh and the one in Venice, FL. We were looking for a restaurant on Sunday evening. Metro Diner came to mind. The restaurant is at the end of a strip mall in the Sutton Square neighborhood. It has tables, booths and a counter. A 1950/1960's nostalgia decor with outside seating. The service was very good. And the food, delicious. I had shrimp and grits. It was just the right amount of eclectic tastes. My daughter had the salmon with mashed potatoes and broccoli. She really enjoyed it.

I had dinner here with my son the other night. They serve breakfast all day long so we decided to get something from the breakfast menu. The staff is very friendly and very accommodating and the ambiance has like a 1950s or 1960s vibe to it. I ordered the traditional eggs Benedict with hash browns. I'm always looking for a good eggs benedict. The egg and the ham were cooked perfectly the English muffin was cold and could not eat much of the hash browns because they were too greasy. My son ordered the eggs Benedict with chicken he had home fries that were deep fried. The chicken was cooked well the eggs were cooked while the Hollandaise sauce was good the English muffin was cold but the saving grace of that dish was the deep fried home fries they were very good. I have to compliment the service staff, if it weren't for them I'd be given this review a three but because of their professionalism, their kindness and their attention to detail I am giving this four stars.

We went on a Saturday afternoon and it was busy! I really liked the service, our server was super friendly. I could definitely tell this was a regular spot for locals and the vibe was nice. The food was just ok and the seasoning can be dialed up. It was an enjoyable place to try out but I don't think we would be back unless we were in the area.

All day breakfast menuand other foods. This is a busy place. The positive is your food is fresh and hot. The negative is you cannot easily hear you dining companions. This is acute abo v e Dennys and IHOP. Be prepared to wait for a table. On a nice day you can enjoy outside seating.

Friendly diner with a great menu and variety of options. We were visiting family from out of town and they were able to accommodate our group of 8 with one baby when someone called ahead. The menu has the traditional breakfast items featuring a few with a spin like eggs Benedict with fried chicken or avocado egg bowls. I got the avocado toast that didn't break the bank with an addition of 2 poached eggs and feta cheese. The servicing size was just right! Everyone in the party enjoyed the food, from sausage gravy biscuits to cinnamon roll pancakes. They had a high seat set up for the baby which was nice. The staff is friendly and hospitable. Metro Diner checks all the boxes when it comes to dining out!

Walking in you'll feel like you've walked into a retro-chic, high energy, and upscale diner. Even the waiting area was nice to sit in as we waited for our table. For drinks I ordered the Hurricane (Rum, Pasionfruit, Grenadine, Orange, Lime), Scorpion (Amaro Nonino, Montenegro, Sweet Vermouth, Hot Honey, Mint), the 1806 (Orange Infused Bourbon, Brulee'd Orange Syrup, Bitters), and an espresso martini. I'd say it was a tie for favorite drink between the Hurricane and the 1806. Both were well balanced and tasted great. The scorpion was a bit spicy for my liking and the espresso martini was good just wasn't as good as the hurricane/the 1806. For appetizers we ordered the Maine Lobster Doughnuts, Heirloom Tomato Pie (with Tennessee Buttermilk Cheddar & Sherry-Sherry Vinaigrette), and the Watermelon Vinaigrette (with Avocado, Goat Lady Dairy Chevre, & White Balsamic Vinaigrette). The Maine Lobster Doughnuts and Watermelon Vinaigrette were excellent. The watermelon was sliced, goat cheese wasn't too strong and had the perfect blend of flavors. The Maine Lobster Doughnuts were also perfectly cooked and were so good. The Heirloom Tomato Pie was okay, just had a really strong mustard after taste which wasn't my favorite. For my entree I ordered the 10 oz Hanger Steak (Creamed Greens, Oil-Cured Olive Butter, & Red Wine Shallot Jus) which was cooked perfectly was so good. Even the baguette and butter were excellent!! Lastly for dessert we split the Peach Shortcake (Vanilla Bean Mascarpone and Cinnamon Crunch Biscuit). It tasted like a croissant and peach biscuit and was excellent. Just a heads-up: the pimento cheese is served cold. I was expecting it to be warm, but I probably should have asked. The heirloom tomato pie was good, not great. Think chicken pot pie, but filled with tomatoes and cheese. The flavors were pretty straightforward, but the crust was really good. The ricotta gnocchi was a hit. The gnocchi was very soft and pillowy, and it came in an almost pesto-like broth. I'm a huge pesto fan, so I really enjoyed the combination. The sweet corn with oyster mushrooms was also good, but there was a lot of sherry cream. The corn was practically swimming in it, and the mushrooms became so soft that they mostly tasted like the cream. Surprisingly, the sautéed broccolini may have been my favorite dish. It had a smoky grilled char while still keeping the firmness you want from broccolini. Simple, but really well done. We finished with the soft-serve sundae with braised blueberries, coconut graham crumble, and coconut cream. The blueberries were a little sweeter than I normally prefer, but the soft serve was delicious, the crumble added a nice texture, and the coconut cream was a subtle touch. Overall, it was a very good meal. Not every dish was a standout, but the gnocchi, broccolini, and sundae were the clear highlights.

A Classic Diner Experience in Downtown Raleigh…read more Anyone who follows me knows two things I love very much: breakfast and diners (along with other short-order restaurants). I definitely found a gem in Glenwood South that immediately reminded me of the classic diners I grew up with in New Jersey. For readers unfamiliar with Jersey diners: think a no-nonsense, sit-down restaurant serving breakfast all day, great coffee, generous portions, and a menu built around eggs, griddle items, comfort food, and attentive table service. Tucker Street Diner delivers that same spirit--just set in the fashionable Glenwood South neighborhood rather than along a highway. Tucker Street Diner is located within the Smoky Hollow mixed-use development in the Glenwood South area of downtown Raleigh. Smoky Hollow is a large, modern complex featuring retail, restaurants, Class-A office space, structured parking, and residential units. The diner occupies ground-level retail space in the office building at 421 North Harrington Street, right at the corner of the pedestrian promenade along Tucker Street. The restaurant is designed as a modern American diner with nostalgic retro touches--checkerboard floors and glossy booths--blended with contemporary comfort and urban flair. It clearly evokes classic diner aesthetics while catering to a diverse downtown crowd. The menu focuses on classic American diner fare: all-day breakfast, burgers, sandwiches, specialty comfort food, and blue-plate specials. Breakfast options include pancakes, eggs, bacon, burritos, and creative dishes such as breakfast burritos and open-face sandwiches with gravy. Desserts, milkshakes, and coffee/espresso drinks are also available. I visited early on a Friday morning during New Year's week. I was greeted warmly and quickly served a solid, classic diner cup of coffee (likely a medium roast). Even with limited office activity that morning, the diner still had a steady flow of customers. I ordered the chicken-fried steak with two sunny-side-up eggs, home fries, and rye toast. The steak was nicely breaded, and the white gravy--served on a separate plate--was rich and flavorful. The eggs were perfectly cooked. The home fries were cubed potatoes (different from the shredded style often found up north) and were very good. Large slices of buttered rye toast, topped with both grape and strawberry jelly, rounded out what was a very satisfying breakfast. Portions were generous for the price, and the overall value felt right for a downtown, full-service diner--especially given the quality of the food and the attentiveness of the service. The classic diner theme and attention to cleanliness extended even to the gender-neutral restrooms, one of which is accessible. The accessible restroom was occupied at the time, so I used the other; it was clean, pleasantly scented, and well stocked. In short, Tucker Street Diner feels like a Jersey diner dropped into a Southern downtown--comfort food, eggs, and gravy instead of biscuits--with a welcoming atmosphere and reliable execution. I left full, satisfied, and already planning a return visit.

Moved forward. The sandwich was decent enough to eat but tasted like chickpeas more than anything else. I was very annoyed that I wasn't informed there were chickpeas after asking questions but was so freaking hungry, I just ate it. I was very unsatisfied but didn't have the funds to order more food. 9 hours later I'm writing this review and noticed they have a chickpea salad sandwich. They must have accidently given me the wrong sandwich. Ughhhh. The vibe is Cafe meets bookstore. It's cute. There were quite a few people working on their laptops and also moms with young kids. There's great options for outdoor seating. Parking lot is free. Those who work there are friendly.
